True but not every embassy allows the spouse to attend the interview, unfortunately.

AlhamdoLillah, today i got issued right after exactly 5 weeks, i had an interview on 24th feb and today 30 April got issued. 1st 3 week i didnt have any update and then last 2 weeks i had frequent updates date, almost 6 updates and then Issued. So guys InshaAllah everyone waiting for the issue will get visa, just be patient and no need to panic if until 1 month you dont get any update. yesterday i got my 6th update and this morning i got issued finally.

Key is to pass on with this waiting time is to keep praying and be patient, and have a believe that if your case is genuine then you will get your visa sooner or later, more chances are within 60 days and more likely 5-6 weeks.

Now i am waiting for the passport, my wife is in Karachi and waiting for the call to pickup the passport, hopefully within couple of days she will get her passport back.

Anyone from Karachi can share their experience that how long it take to get call for passport pickup.? or anyway to track the passport? really appreciated.

Thanks Natasha, hope u get issue soon. I emailed the embassy in Liberia same day husband had his interview, but no reply so I decided to leave them until they re done. I had an update March 4th, I guess that happened because of the emailed that I sent. It's better to let them do their job like u said. I am here patiently waiting. but de Sad news is, vjs members who went through AP from Liberia yrs ago do not have any timeline. Hope I can make de different to be able to help others in the future. Best of luck to us all going through AP nightmare!!?

It's been a ittle bit so thought it's past time for an update...short story goes like this...
I emailed, our attorney emailed, congresswoman's office emailed; all with same answer of "AP"
Then my husband emailed. He asked what was the reason for the AP. The embassy called him the next day and asked for proof of relationship.I had a feeling that may happen. It took about 10 days to gather it and drop it off at the embassy. That was Monday. Let's see what's next.

No, it will not prevent her from being a tourist at all. The thing is though is that the embassy already looks at people wanting a B1 visa as wanting to immigrate to the USA until proven otherwise by that person. So she has not proven to the embassy that she will return back to Indonesia, which like most of SE Asia is really hard to get a tourist visa to the USA.

my question is ..if i am sponsering my wife and have a ssi disability case pending will the immigration officials have access to information like that..i have the money in the bank to sponser my wife in the us,,,but if they do have access to that knowledge and it would hurt my wifes application for an aos then i need to stop my ssi disabilty case...in short i suspect ucsis officials have access to all your past and present information ...is that correct...thanks again

You can actually count SSI disability in your income when sponsoring someone. It doesn't count as a means-tested benefit.

Just bring every piece of evidence as you can to your next interview. Plane ticket, boarding pass etc. As many visit as possible you can show is better. So you did file CR-1 after you got permission from ministry of foreign affairs that's good. You should be fine. Keep all the record like sending money to wife etc. You must attend the interview as well at this embassy. I know it's sounds politically incorrect but during my visits to this embassy on 4 different occasions I witnessed many interviews. Unfortunately most of them denials either K-1 or CR-1. Approval was very rare. But one thing for sure I witnessed some people had newborns or babies with them. As many denials you could see at this embassy, never saw a denial when there was a baby involved. This is not that I am making something up or reading on internet. This is my own personal experience and I witnessed. It sounds politically incorrect but it is the bitter truth. I saw on few occasions they asked for DNA testing but ultimately approved the case once it cleared. The day they denied my wife's K-1 interview I witnessed an older gentleman with a very young wife who had a newborn on her lap and approved without even asking too many questions(Had red flags all over their appearance) when rejected every other case for the day. Most of them looked genuine couple to me. This is one of the hardest embassy to pass interview where denial rate is very high. May be this embassy is an exception when it comes to a baby, they approve case? I don't know. But again people get denied at this embassy everyday. Most K-1 and lot of CR-1 as well and it has been that way for many years. Then again when there is a child involved and they can prove the child is theirs, it's always pass at this embassy. Never heard a denial. I know this is a fact at least last 5/6 years at this embassy. It doesn't mean I am recommending you or anyone else to have baby to pass the interview.

Cambodia has a unique thing. US citizen wishes to marry Cambodian needs to get permission from Ministry of foreign affairs which takes about a month and US Citizen must physically present the duration. Men must be under 50 years old and must make minimum $2600 a month. Lot of bribe involved the process. It costs anywhere from $1500 to $2000. It's a local law. US Embassy strictly follow local law so if people didn't follow local law, they automatically denied at interview. Doesn't matter they got married religiously.

This is you and your fiancé's future, personal information, and life ahead of you. If you can't spend some time to handle something as important and simple as calling the NVC yourself, then you're going to find a lot of other problems ahead. Frankly, it's irresponsible.

Ever heard of Identity fraud? They can do A LOT with your full name and date of birth. If they are also getting money from it, they will ask for your credit info and you can say bye bye money and your identity and you will never get it back.
They can also do a lot of damage with your case too.
This is not one of those things you let someone else do. Just call NVC yourself.
