    Your problem is going to be getting on a plane.  No airlines is going to allow you to board with an expired extension letter.  Not returning to the US prior to that date was a big mistake.  You might be able to get a boarding foil at the US embassy/consulate.  I know of no other solutions. By the way, you could face some close scrutiny when you arrive in the US.  Good Luck.

    Hello there!
    my 2 years Green Card expired and my 18 months extension as well. Case status is telling me that my case is ready for interview since 22 April 2020. I understand that we have Covid situation here but I need  your advice, guys.
    I'm currently back in Czech Republic and not sure if I can come back to USA. With expired Green Card and ended extension?! Logically I could but I have no proof really only I797 Notice of Action with that expired extension.

    Hi Tara,
    just wanna let you know that I received Green Card on May 12th (for 2 years), without interview.
    So I guess we will have to do same process again.
