I need to know : how can I reach my family by phone from the US? I will be there inchallah soon and I have this concern. I just want to say that my question is only about how to reach a landline in Morocco from the USA. Please, share your experiences, may you suggest something credible and affordable.

As far as I remember you will have 6 months from date of visa issued to enter the USA. I could be wrong.

It's not an issue for you and your fiance, however, it could be an issue to the CO. It's not common in Morocco for a female to marry outside of her religion. You would want to be prepared with supporting documents (i.e.,letters from both sides of the families supporting/acknowledging your relationship).

The first year is the hardest! Just take it day by day and have patience. When my husband arrived here I made sure he got acquainted with his surroundings. He signed up for ESL classes which helped him meet other people who were new immigrants as well. Once he received his EAD he felt confident enough to look for a job on his own and succeeded fast. There were some bumps along the way but we managed. We now look back and laugh! Enjoy the calm before the storm lol

Here's my review for Brooklyn, NY:

We arrived at the courthouse at 8:15am, went through security within minutes. We did not bring any electronic devices as they mention on their website not to, many still brought them and had to leave them with security however it seemed like the they were secure with security. I have to say I was very impressed with the courthouse, very well kept!

Those taking oath were seated in a courtroom, there had to be at least three hundred new citizens today. Visitors were sent to the third floor where they have a nice cafe with one big screen TV to watch the oath ceremony.

The first two hours were spent with the court clerks doing paper work and having people come up one by one handing in their GC and exchanging for a Naturalization Certificate. The judge arrived around 11am and lead the oath and pledge of allegiance. She then gave a speech about her family immigrating to America. By this point I was in tears as it hit me that we finally made it to the finish line! By 12pm the ceremony was over.

Right next to the courthouse is the Cadman Plaza Post Office. We were already prepared with the passport application so we headed in. There was already a line but we took a number. While waiting there is a very nice postal clerk who helps people fill out their application (not common in most post offices). About an hour later our number was called. The clerk that helped us was very helpful. Ten minutes later we were out the door.

There are many nice places in the area, Brooklyn Bridge, eateries, farmers market.....so plan on making it a full day trip.

Question for people who have had their interviews/approvals. Did you get an online update showing the approval? If so, when?

And for those that have the oath dates, did you receive an online update or just get the letter?

I haven't got an online approval yet. Hoping it updates/issues my oath letter sometime next week for the Aug date. Won't seem real until then I think!

The interview is getting closer and I am wondering about the consequences if a form ESPECIALLY I 134 isn't filled out the way it should be? Would I still have the interview? Would the case be put under AP or even get a denial???

My fiance and I are not experts at filling out forms and we are new to the whole process, what if the affidavit of support is not perfect?

I forgot to mention this, another couple waiting with us told us that the husband (immigrant for citizenship) was asked if he knew his wife's social security number! I find it strange but you never know.

Approved for Citizenship! Oath scheduled for July 30th. The finish line is near!

For anyone who has to go to the Queens, NY location be prepared to wait! We got there at around 8:30am and did not leave until 1pm.

He answered to six questions and wrote "Columbus Day is in October". Was only asked for tax transcripts and that's it.

Thanks for the update. I will check that out. But honestly, I don't know why people assume that Afghanistan will always get AP. I have two friends here, who had their spouses come on a CR-1 Visa. They are US Citizens and been living here since the past 15-30 years. And they had no Administrative Processing.

Pre 9-11 there was most likely no AP, most likely you could get it. Just focus on passing the interview. Good luck
