My fiancé and I went to the social security office two weeks after POE and he received his ssn card in 5 days. He only needed his passport and I-94., I asked the officer if he needed to see his birth certificate with translation he said no. Oh we also live in Tennessee.

That is why I was confused. I honestly didn't understand his point of view. So thanks for clarifying that.

The above posters are right. But I just wanted to say that I'm sorry. My husband's mom got really sick this week and we had to decide if he should go. He has his advance parole document and it was still a hard choice for us. I can't imagine how hard this is for you two. I hope that the next process goes quickly.

Omg we didn't get transferred, but we got approved!!!!!!!

Just heard from hubby! Pending his medical they said he is approved!! His medical is delayed because we were expedited and they had 2 squeeze him in. He said she asked how & when we met, what kind of work I do, has he ever been 2 the states & why does he feel that we deserved to be expedited. He said she was very nice. They kept his passport & said he will get it back with the visa! Thank you everyone for all of ur support!!!
