Yeah, those instructions are confusing. But no, you just need to send all the originals to NVC and then NVC will forward everything to the embassy (so you won't have to bring any originals that you already submitted). You didn't need to submit any originals to USCIS, photocopies were fine at that stage. I doubt NVC will pull your marriage certificate from the I-130 package so you should send it again, but you don't need an extra one for the embassy.
It doesn't matter where you send your packages from as long as you send them together. Like you said, I mailed all of my originals, pictures/etc to my wife and she sent everything from the US. I think that's usually what makes the most sense.
The only thing you need "extra" aside from the documents sent to NVC is another 2x2" picture for your medical exam (not sure if another set for the embassy?).
Send every original (excluding your passport) and your photos to your husband and he will put everything in one package and send it out to NVC. At your interview all your documents will be forwarded from NVC to Embassy, but still take your picture with you and your passport. You will also need bar coded documents confirming your appointment.
Thank you both so much, I really appreciate the help.

Hello Im in australia and my husband is in US. We are putting together our packages. We understand everything needs to be sent together. My question is about the originals like police certificate and my photos that NVC website require for IV package. Am I supposed to mail them to hubby along with the other things on the IVdocs and then he puts it all into one big package withGod AOS docs and send them together? I only ask because when I was looking at the interview section of NVC website it talks about me having to take photos to the embassy and also take my police certificate. I'm honestly abit confused. We got married in US so hubby will be sending an original of our marriage certificate even though he already did this during USCIS stage. Should I get him to send a copy of the marriage certificate to me aswell for interview?

If you filed that G-1145 form with your I-130 to get the initial electronic notification, the person on that form should get the NVC email. I'm pretty sure the USCIS case notifications are completely unrelated and they don't get that information. When you're assigned a case number at NVC (about 3 weeks after NOA2) you should call and they will ask whether you want to register additional email addresses for the petitioner/beneficiary/attorney. This is what I did because I hadn't filed that electronic notification form with the I-130 (and so they didn't have any email address for my case). Ever since that call, my wife, my attorney and myself all get CC'd on any email NVC sends.
Thankyou
The g-1145 only covers the intial NOA1 and you needed to sign up on the USCIS website to get any other emails from them. I did and they sent me emails but not my husband the petitioner. Most of the time (60-80% I think) the NVC gets the petioner email from the g-1145 but not always. You give over both petioner and beneficiary (now primary applicant) to the NVC so that both people know what's going on.
Thankyou

You can call NVC (I know I did because I just wanted something to happen) but it's completely useless if we're being realistic. Just a way to see if there's been any progess, I guess. Until they send the welcome email, you can't even log in to the CEAC site even if you do have the case number and Invoice ID Number (you get that "your case is in process of termination" message). The portal opens up a few hours after you get the email.
For everyone else, I'm also following the new process - you can see my signature for details, though it's a little different because we have a lawyer so we got to skip the DS-261 and both our bills were invoiced at the same time. The DS-260 opens up when the IV bill shows as "paid".
Hello I'm just wondering who gets the NVC email? The petitioner or beneficiary? My husband is the petitioner and he got the initial NOA1 email but never received any emails after that. I got the NOA2 email because I signed up for case updates on the USCIS website. My husband got a letter in the mail shortly after for NOA2. So just wondering who NVC will send the email to? Does NVC use the emails given to them by USCIS? If so will they have mine as I had the case updates sent to me?
Thankyou in advance for the clarification.

Hi... As far as I know the petitioner is the one who will receive the letter from NVC.. and usually they prefer to mail it in US address.
In our case my husband called the NVC for our case number 2 weeks after we got our NOA2... we called them every other day and they gave it after a week.. so we got it really by calling NVC ... coz i dont want to wait for the letter as it takes forever before u can have it.. Actually until now my husband still didnt receive the letter yet from NVC.. and thank God im finished doing DS261 and 260.. and niw ready to send out iur docs to NVC.
So I suggest you call.. and dont wait for the letter. Good luck
Wow thank you so much for the advise! We got our NOA2 October 20! Congrats on your journey so far. I pray everything continues to go smoothly for you!

Hello my husband and I will be filing our application hopefully this month. Just a couple of questions. Has anyone got someone to do an affidavit for them? We do not have joint accounts or joint property.
Also I need to sign the 325a form. I thought it needed to be the original copy with my signature but is it ok to print, sign and scan it to my husband for him to use? Can anyone let me know if they have done this?
Best of luck to everyone!
I miss my hubby dearly!

Hello Tristanz can I get Vermonts number? Also did you get a notice from USCIS that they have shipped after approval? I got my approval on 20 OCtober and wondering if they shipped it or I should wait to get a notice from USCIS that they shipped.
