  1. I had my interview this morning 9/17. It was pretty straight forward. I was asked to read and then write an answer after I was sworn in. The uscis agent proceeded with the questions.

    1. Who wrote the Declaration of Independence

    2. Who is the commander in chief of the military

    3. What is the political party of the president

    4. What are the two political parties

    5. Name 3 of the original colonies

    6. Name a state that borders Mexico

After these questions, we went over my N-400 questions. I gave her our 2017 tax transcripts and the deed for the house. And that was it. Waiting on the oath ceremony to be scheduled.

Hi guys i have been 9 days waiting for my interview notice after i got my my "interview was scheduled" message online updated.

Anyone can tell me how long it takes from the date of online status gets updated till you recieve the notice in the mailbox?

I received the notification that my interview has been scheduled on Thursday 8/9 and received the actual notification on Tuesday 8/14, so in less than a week. You can call and inquire about it.

  3. i have received some text and email notifications yesterday and today again about some updates on my green card case. I received my green in June of last year 😂 and as everyone on here I am waiting on an interview date for the citizenship, so it is strange to get these notifications. Has anyone received such notifications? I’m assuming uscis is updating its website.

  4. If your relationship is real, then you shouldn’t be worried. I was on an F1 visa myself, and later was sponsored for an H1B. We got married 4 months after I got my H1-B visa. There were too many restrictions on the H1-B visa, so we opted for marriage and go though the green card process. The only question we got during our interview for the green card was “How did you meet ?”.

Thr immigraiton has changed quite a bit with the new government, so I wouldn’t advise her to go out unless she is enrolled in a PhD program or another program. The F1 visa has some limitations. I had a good friend of mine who went home to visit during summer and had to renew his F1 visa before returning and it was denied the visa. He was even enrolled in a graduate program after his OPT. But again each case is different, and also the country might make a difference.

Marriage is is the best option,  tu don’t rush into it. Some people come on a tourist visa and get married and still get their green card. So, if your relationship is real and you can provide whatever proofs the immigration asks during the process you should be fine.

    Best of luck!

  5. Can someone update the list with my info below? My receipt and biometric notice finally came in the mail today. The receipt was torn in 2 pieces, but the biometric was intact.

Anytime :). I hope you’ll get yours soon.

I called the USCIs today, and the receipt and biometric letter were sent and 10/21; but i  haven’t received anything. The address on file with the USCIS is correct, so the post office lost again my letters like they did during the green card process. They ask that i call in a week with a fax number to get a copy of the biometric letter for my appointment on 11/16. I’m getting a UPS P.O. box for my mail til We move out of here.

  7. Does anyone know how long it takes to get the receipt and biometrics letter after you mail your application? I mailed mine on 10/16. It was received on 10/18 and the check was cashed on 10/23. I haven’t received any mail from the USCIS. I am tempted to call, but since I don’t have a case number yet, can I use my Green Card number to get an update on my application? I had such a hard time with the mailman misplacing my letters during the green card application process that I’m afraid this is happening again.

  8. For the person maintaining the records for this thread KO_, can your come up with a google shared spreadsheet like this one (see link below)? I was in a thread where we used it to keep track of the cases and everybody with a google account could access and update the information. This will make the thread less lengthy and will prevent the threat to be broken down into several parts. I can work on this spreadsheet this weekend when I have some free time in case you can’t do it. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1K2JoU_2yXD0QBBqRoM6_auTa52wY1gcMiM0YFhs6cYQ/edit?usp=sharing

  9. I finally have my green card in my hands. Thanks God!

I was approved on May 18, and my card was mailed the 1st time on May 31. They didn't have my unit number on the envelope, so the post office returned it. I made a service request and made several calls to the USCiS to get my card resent to me. They finally shipped it on June 21 after I have made a call that morning.

This time the "careless", "distracted" mailperson decided to put my mail in someone's else mailbox. I was lucky to have called on the same day when the card was mailed out (June 21) to get the tracking number. It showed online that my green card was delivered but it was no where to be found in my mailbox.

I called the post office and put in a request. I also called the local office next to where I live to report the issue. The lady I spoke to was able to identify that it was misdelivered and got in touch with the carrier to retrieve the letter and redeliver it to me this afternoon.

This had been a long and rough journey. I won't waste any time to send out my citizenship application.

Best of luck to those who are still waiting. Just make sure you call when you get the message that your card has been shipped to get the tracking and follow it closely.

Omg...so close to the finishing line! But at least the hard part is over...Hopefully they can mail it right back, once they mail it takes less than 3 days from KS to GA.

I know;  I called and put in a request to have the card sent back to me. They corrected the address, but still I'm going to get my passport stamped at the local USCIS tomorrow and check on the status of the request. I can't wait to be done with this process. I have my I-400 ready to be mailed out once I get the actual green card.
