:jest: Hey Everybody, So SHOCKER, Noor's appointment was actually a 2nd interview! :wow: They had told him to just bring copies of all pages of my passport, notarized & relationship proofs...like Skype logs, chats, etc... to the appointment today. That's it. (Although, I had a feeling that because it was an appointment, MAYBE it could be an interview. So we went over a couple things and I quizzed him right before he went in.) He said he went in, they called him to window, and asked for my passport pages copies, and his passport. Then they told him to go back and wait to be called. After half hour, they called him to another window. There were 3 COs there, and asked if he wanted English or Bangla. He said English is good. So there was one guy asking questions, and 2 were sitting beside him. Then after about 5 mins, 4 other COs came and stood behind the ones sitting. So that's 7! They proceeded to ask him every question you can think of (too many to list) about us, our life, how we met, married, our communication, my past, his past, our families, our present times, and what is he going to do in America,, etc.) They would ask lots of the same questions, in different ways, many times. They would turn off their microphone and discuss with each other (all 7) about ask this, ask that... and all the while Noor was calm and confident and happy to talk about me  and our love! Congrats to him!!!! I'm so impressed and proud of him!:thumbs::thumbs: He said at the end (45 mins later!) they were smiling :content: (real smiles) and said, "Thank you sir, it was a great conversation, and we have everything we need" then gave back our marriage invite we had submitted with I130, and all our pics we had submitted at original interview. Then Noor said, "Do you want these other papers we brought, Skypes, and Vibers..." The consular said, "No, we have everything we need, and we are satisfied our questions are answered, and we don't need those, if we need something we will let you know. Sir, it was a great conversation, and we will petition your visa, and get in contact with you, have a nice day, and thank you again for answering our questions, it was a great talk. Have a nice day." (He was smiling nicely). Then Noor left, and called me. I told him he did an excellent job and answered everything fantastically! He didn't hesitate with all the questions, and one question he didn't know, but he said, "Sir, I don't know, maybe 5 years or so..." like that. So he did great. I'm super happy with his surprise interview, and THEY KEPT HIS PASSPORT! So...what does everyone think???

Congrats hopefully your husband will get his visa soon.

My husbands passport also at the embassy it's been two months since we submit the documents but still under AP, saying that every case is different so he might get it soon.

  2. Hi I too am from Srilanka, my husband had his interview January 7th. No news still. Ceac says case ready. My senator wrote and they said they got everything they need for the case and will contact us when there was a change. I just came back from visiting my husband. Can't believe this nightmare

Why do they do this to Sri Lankan people?

So the all 3 recent members are on line for AP?

    This is no good!

Why do they try to stop us to go to USA to our spouses while other embassies have no this type of issues?

I am awaiting for my interview date but now very much frustrated.

Do you have any clue what may be the reason for AP?

It's not only for Srilankans but what I don't get is why they take so much time to review it.

  3. sounds like good news if you got an update without having to inquire

It updated after tons of inquiries from me and one inquire from congressman

ceac status keeps changing-but onlt because i, my husband, or congressman's office keep contacting. and no, they do not have his passport. they gave his passport and i believe his medical card back to him at the end of interview when placed on a/p.

when did your husband get his passport back ?

  4. Nothing. I'm sure I will do something soon since they have had requested proof for 1 month now.

    How about you? anything?

Had 1st update after submitting the documents. It's being a month now, I'm happy to see at least an update.

    hey guys

how long have you stuck on AP?

I've counted 5 Vj members stuck on ap for a quite sometime now. (that's including me)

    and

I saw someone(indian member) mentioned field visit from consulate officers while their cases is processing but unfortunately no one mentioned any important info regarding that. Will they visit unannounced?

It"s being 3.5 month's and yeah they randomly visit places, you never no when and what time they going to show up!

  5. Initially, I called them...spoke to maybe the receptionist...and she gave me alot of information. To download their consent form and where to send it, etc. Once I sent it in, I'm not sure I gave them more than a day before calling to make sure they received it from me. The person in the office who is handling it now is responding very quickly. I keep him and my attorney updated on any new happenings so that we're all on the same page via email.

Already sent the documents and all I'll give them some time to contact the embassy and call office in next week, so they have enough time to work with it. And I'm really thankful for your help.

  6. Yes, it was poya day. But I'm guessing maybe the US Embassy goes by US holidays. Not sure.

    Update:

I spoke to the congress persons office today and the US Embassy replied that our packet was received and our case is with an officer. So...we see...

How did you request the congressman to contact the embassy did you call his secretary or went to the office? sorry I'm asking this because I have no idea about it. If you can tell me the process from A to Z really appreciate.

  7. Yes,my husband emailed them on February 8 to inquire as to status but he has not heard anything. I contacted the Congressperson's office the beginning of last week. Although, we have not heard anything, the ceac status update date was changed to Feb 18. This morning we again saw a date change on ceac to Feb 22. Something must be moving we just do not know what.

That's weird my husband told me 22 is a holiday in sri lanka and embassy was closed. somehow seems like your case is moving.

  8. We submitted the additional information on Feb 1st. They updated the date on status check on Feb 3rd.

    They definitely usually move quickly.

Although, we did inquire on Feb 8th but have received no response yet.

At least you guys have an update on on it, my husband submit the documents same date as yours and interview was in the same date but still no update of it, do you guys have any recent updates ?

  9. It's been a ittle bit so thought it's past time for an update...short story goes like this...

I emailed, our attorney emailed, congresswoman's office emailed; all with same answer of "AP"

Then my husband emailed. He asked what was the reason for the AP. The embassy called him the next day and asked for proof of relationship.I had a feeling that may happen. It took about 10 days to gather it and drop it off at the embassy. That was Monday. Let's see what's next.

When did you submit the documents and when is the last date that shows as updated ?

  10. I've seen a few comments recently about interview questions pertaining to previous marriages. I am the petitioner and my husband knows I was married before but we never got into any of details, as I like to leave the past in the past.

Should I be giving him more details for the interview? Do these questions come up often?

You better discuss all the details about your previous marriage since the CO knows about it there's a high chance of asking about your past life. So better not take a chance!

  11. APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!! Hubby had his interview this morning at Lagos Embassy and was approved....we are so happy and excited, according to my husband the interview went quick (2mins) he was asked a few questions. He also mentioned that the CO stated that the way I packed the documents was exceptional. My husband was asked the following and told to pick his visa up in 2weeks. He did mention that the wait was very long his interview was scheduled for 8am but didn’t get interviewed until after 1pm

    Who petitioned for you?

    What does your wife do?

Where and what did you wife study in college?

What type of wedding did you do?

How many siblings does your wife have?

    How many siblings before her?

    How many boys and girls?

She asked for the original birth certificate and police clearance and told my husband that he is approved.

Hubby stated the lady was very nice and didn’t even ask to see pictures or any of our correspondences.

    Congrats :)

  12. Approved on the spot!!!!!!!!!!!!! So happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Hi guys!

I had my interview yesterday in Moscow. I was approved! Very happy this process is almost finished at this point.

But I have a problem. I was so focused on general questions during the interview and I completely forgot to tell a consular that my husband was moving. So they won't have my new address for my Green card.

Does anybody know what I should do? Contact the Embassy immediatelly or USCIS or give a new address to the officer at POE entering the US?

    Really appreciate any help

Congrats to all of you guys :joy::joy::joy:

  13. Thanks, I didn't see her screen shot of the log in issue before I posted my response. This is odd since they just requested them not that long ago.

Honestly, the transcripts they send don't look any different then the copies I made. Too bad there's no way of knowing for sure if the embassy will accept the copies.

can you please tell me long did it take to get your transcript from ordering date ?
