I got the biometrics today too!
It's scheduled for August 8th...
Is it possible to try an early walk-in? What do you think?
-
The actual address I guess
Yes, everything is going pretty good (for now)
We are waiting for the biometrics now..
and we are both scared that we gonna get a RFE or something..
sigh
-

Last night, almost midnight, received FOUR notifications by email and sms - one for each of the forms filed
))
I created my online account for case tracking on USCIS website and 3 cases show "Initial Review" stage while 1 case (I485) shows "Acceptance" stage. Wonder what that means?
Also I485 case status says that my case is being processed at Nebraska Service Center.
- Does that mean I130, I765 & I131 are at Nebraska too?
- Processing times at Nebraska Service Center do not show I485 for Immediate relative (spouse). That's confusing.
- My receipt numbers start with MSC, isn't that supposed to be Missouri? Then, what's my application doing in Nebraska?
Many questions on my mind.... Any inputs would be helpful.
Thanks.
EXACTLY the same situation
We received the info also just shortly after midnight. Somebody couldn't sleep apparently
As far I know and understand only i-485 would be processed in Nebraska. We laso have the numbers started with MSC so probably it's just a part of the number, that's it.
-
We just got the info on email and by text!
I have no idea why so late (it was shortly after midnight, but we are grateful anyway:)
-
We sent the papers just after July 4th, to be more patriotic
It has been delivered 07/10.
and now the WAITING...
Its killing me, seriously
-
We sent the papers yesterday! Yay!
It took so long, because we had to wait for the correct version of the joint lease
But we finally could send everything yesterday.
Now the waiting begins!
I do have one small concern tho. We attached money order instead of checks and we got 3 of them (ughhh) instead of one. 2x$500 and one for $490
It was pretty late and thats all we could get in the bank. Strange...
Anyway I hope the USCIS wouldnt have a problem with that.

thank you so much

Puerto Rico has a very strange situation, so we just wanted to make sure, thank you for all the answers!
This toronto thing was my biggest concert, thank you!
Tomorrow im gonna pick up my papers form the doctor's office
and send the whole thing
-
Thank you so much! The closer we are to send the papers, the more nervous we get.
I guess it's natural. We do have a lot of photos, some plain tickets, some bills. I ope it would be enough for now.
In the leasing office they said that they cant do anything, because a) I dont have SSN number b) Florida doesn't recognize gay marriages, so they can't do anything. We got the same answer in 3 banks and we just gave up.
I do have some questions about the forms. Can you please take a look? It's very few, I'm just not sure about the answers. We tried to call USCIS, but they didn't know or they didn't care enough to answer. Anyway there is a list:
FORM I-130
Question 13:
If you are a US citizen complete the following:
a) born in US b) naturalizattion c) parentsMy wife was born in Puerto Rico. We are pretty sure we should check a) answer, but I'm very much confused. Did anybody have the same problem?
Question 15
Name and address of present employer (if any)My employer or my wife's?
FORM i-485
Part 1 - what does "C/O (in care of)" mean?
Part 3 - Place of last entry into the United StatesThat's the funny part. I crossed the border in Toronto, Canada and I answered the questions there, before I got into the plane. I landed in Miami, but I didn't go through immigration. Is Miami the correct answer then?
Where you inspected by a US immigration officer?
Means if I answered the questions or the stripped me to my underwear on the back?FORM I-765
q16. The category - I guess it's "c9" since I'm a visitor who married US citizen?
FORM G-325A (My wife's)
in the section " This form is submitted in connection with an application for a) naturalization b) status as PR b) other" what did you put?
Since my G325 is simple, because I fill it for PR, what about my wife's?thank you so much once again, you all save our life and Im very very grateful for all your help.
-
We cant have a joint back account now, they said I need SSN
I cant be added to the lease - I need SSN
so i can show a lot of photos and bills from trips and stuff
would it be enough?
-
Hi there again,
We almost finished filling the papers,
It took forever but we very very close I guess ( I hope).
One small question - do we have to send the proof of the marriage now or not?
I'm so confused.
We can show of course a lot of photos and plane tickets.. but not much joint leases or anything like that
We practically just got married...
-
I'm not saying I believe a new poster I just wanted to explain why I thought she meant that we should wait another year.
We won;t because we can't.
I'm really grateful for your answers and for all your help.
I really hope taht everything will be ok with our application, but of course I'm scared.
-
Well its always good to know both sides of the situation.
We probably would have to risk it.
We got married may 8th, she started new job on may 11th
So on one side it shows that we really didn't have an intent to stay (I guess)
But the job is pretty new - that's for sure.
I understood that we should wait a year because AttyFoley said that we shoud show the tax report from 2014 and that would be possible in next year.
Sorry if I misunderstood.
Right now my wife has a stable, full time job with all benefits and everything. Her income is above the required poverty line for sure.
She was working part-time or as a freelancer for last 3 years, that's all.
-
Thank you for all the answers.
Well it's a new job now. Partly because that she got the job we decided to get married and stay.
The interview will happen probably in next 6 months or so..
Is that possible that we could get RFE right now after sending papers?
To be perfectly honest with you, we wanted to have a joint sponsor just in case, we asked some friends before, and they said yes. But when it came to make a decision and sending the papers they all said no. So our situation is not very good at the moment when it comes to a joint sponsor. They all said that they are afraid of consequences (whatever that might be). We could ask some more people, but its kinda humiliating if you know what I mean. That's why we kinda think about sendg the papers showing my wife as my main sponsor...
Waiting for the next year would be probably most practical decision, but I can't imagine sitting at home another year and not be able to support my wife financially..
The letter from the employer is not a problem as far I know. The employer just asked if that should be addressed to some department or something?
-
Thank you so much for your reply.
I really hope that would be enough.
I'm sorry, Im kinda freaking out trying to organize everything. My better half is working so I'm the one who deals with the paper work.
Is ther eany example of the letter form the employer? Does it have to include something specific?
-
Hello everybody.
I do have a question about the sponsorship.
My wife was working only part time for last few years and her income wasn't outstanding. Right now, just before we got married, she got a really good job, full time and her income would be more than enough to be my first, primary and the only sponsor.
If somebody didn't have a really good income for last 3 years but right now has a really good job, is that enough, or do we need a joint sponsor?

Thank you very very much!
The relationship is true and I don't think that would be any problem with proofing it. We do have a lot of proofs so I'm not afraid of that.
We want to send the papers in the beginning of June. Do you think that would be ok, or we should wait a little bit more?
-
Thank you so much for your reply.
Our case can be simple or complicated at the same time. We've been together almost 2 years now, seeing each other as often as possible. First I've been visiting her in US (I've crossed the border few times, never overstayed, never working illegally and then I got a job with a working visa in Canada. We've been planning our life together in Canada actually (yes, we didn't know that there was any change in DOMA). Some time has passed and I had to renew my Canadian work permit (my employer was supposed to deal with it). It was about to take some time, so we decide to take a short trip to US to meet her friends and family (even if they didn't know about the nature of our relationship). After a week I got the info, that it might take a little bit longer, so I stayed another week and then I learned that I can get back to Canada but I'm not gonna get my work visa (the employer had some problem, some regulations have changed etc.). I was extremely stressed, because I crossed the border with only one bag (not even a suitcase), I left everything in Canada, apartment, furniture, stuff, everything. And now I could have problems with crossing the border. Then my girlfriend (then still my girlfriend) got a job here. Almost immediately she decided to solve our problems and just planned a spontaneous wedding. We traveled to another state and got married about 6 weeks after my arrival.
We both have been kinda naive and guessed that now the problems are solved. But not really. We called a lawyer and he said I'm supposed to go back to my country (where I've not been living for more than 2 years now) and get my green card upon CR1 process (I guess that's how it should look like). I was told that I could have a huge problem, especially in Miami and I could be accused of visa fraud (It doesn;t my intentions were different). I panicked again (seriously, after all the stress I would have to see some therapist or something:)
My girlfriend hated the idea of me getting back to Europe and processing it there, because who knows how long that would take. I hate all the shortcuts, so I tried to convince her that would be the best idea (for immigration perspective, certainly not for us of course). I called my parents and informed them that I just got married and I might have to get back home for some time. Then the drama started. My mother supports me (still not approving but still), but my father said that If im gonna show up at home, that's not gonna end up well.
I'm torn between 3 countries (my stuff in Canada and the apartment that I'm still paying for), my wife here and of course my native land. God help me to explain the whole situation on the interview. That's gonna take hours.
Right now the only choice I have is to try to adjust the status here. With or without a lawyer.
We didn't send the papers yet, we are preparing.
Any advice?
