  1. I guess, but I'm not to worried about ROC, more worried I'll be stuck in this stage for a long time because someone forgets the file somewhere..

I thought the background checks are completed by the time the interview is scheduled - else what's the point of having a interview scheduling step?

I'll call or schedule a INFOPASS in case I haven't heard anything from them in a week or two.. Just to make sure it doesn't fall into some crack somewhere.. :)

I would schedule an info pass, you would get to know more about your case that way.

    I know it's frustrating and stressful :(

  2. Interview today - went well but was given a letter that the case is held for further review. Expect something within 120 days..

They annotated I-485, and added an explanation on the affiliate groups.. I left a lot of more supporting docs which the officer said all look good and I shouldn't need anything more.

    We'll see what happens next...

    Any news in your case?

  3. APPROVED on the spot!!

The officer was polite enough to make us feel comfortable. Apart from the usual stuff (no-questions, names, DOB, etc), he asked us how we met, a bit about our mutual visits, and if we have met each other's families. He asked if we had anything else to show him: he went through our pics really fast. That was it. We were done in 10 minutes.

My status changed an hour later to "Card production" and a while later to "Decision"; i-130, in "post-decision".

    :dancing:

    Congrats!

I am in this boat too. I have been waiting for an interview for the longest time.

It can take even 4-5 months, relax.

I know it's disappointing and frustrating, but you have to wait :(

Some people get the interview date very fast, sometimes it takes longer :(

  4. And then after 2 hours:

On September 29, 2014, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283.

And again it changed to decision

On September 29, 2014, we mailed you a notice that we had registered this customer's new permanent resident status. Please follow any instructions on the notice. Your new permanent resident card should be mailed within 60 days following this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move before receiving your card, please call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

What the hell is going on?

  5. Thanks!

Yeah, they always just give standard answers on the phone which is why I just gave up on calling.

Ugh...I just can't wait to get belligerently drunk once I get that update about my gc!!!!!!!!! :clock::jest:

I'm sure it will be fine!

We just have to be patient.

You have your EAD, apply for SSN, get your Driver's License, apply for jobs if you didn't already and stop thinking about GC

It will come.. some time in the future... :)

We all almost at the end of this journey and it went pretty fast for most of us. Remember that usually you should wait like 6 months for the interview :)

  6. Congrats! You are almost there!

They wouldn;t give you EAD if you weren't approved.. I guess.

I called USCIS today again and asked politely about my status.

They say that "the online status is frequently not up to date."

    Oh really..

I was also told that I may just expect the GC in my mailbox, without any info from USCIS

or, most likely they would send me only the tracking number.

I have no idea who invented this online system

    But it doesn't work!

  7. Thank you everybody. AOS in 68 days.. that was pretty fast! Still no info about my GC.. My online status is still on "Initial Review". I do have the letter and EAD and everything.. but I wish I could just STOP visiting this website and happily get drunk that we finished the whole process. Without GC in hand it's hard to do so.

Speaking of EAD expedite.. You should get some info by email within a WEEK. I remember that Tier 2 we were talking to, said that's a standard timeline and If we didn't get in time, we should call. I truly believe that calling calling calling and talking to Tier 2 would help. 50 days of waiting to expedite the document is ridiculous. Especially if you are working and your future career could be damaged by this.

They do have a mess there, that's a fact. Sometimes you can talk to people who aren't very much helpful (but at least they try). The best idea is just calling. I think we know USCIS number by the heart right now. Everything will be ok, I'm sure. Fingers crossed!
