  1. They make lots of mistakes. I would call them

My case was completed at NVC on May 21, 2015. When I check my visa application status on the ceac.state.gov webpage, it still tells me

"please follow the instructions you received from the NVC for the next step in processing of your visa petition."

When will this change? Or was it supposed to change already, and they made a mistake? Do they actually make mistakes?

  2. The generic quote my husband and I got was for the AOS needing to be brought to the interview with an original signature of the petitioner. When I called just to verify this - they said there was no marriage certificate on file there in our package that was submitted which it was submitted cause we double and triple checked before we mailed it.

What upsets me is we still haven't received an actual email or paper copy of a "checklist" for the said marriage certificate. We were told today all that was holding the case up was the review of the DS-260 and that our marriage certificate is on file. I called again today just to verify this answer and was told that it was a lie that it wasn't actually on file and that I was still under review.

good for you, you called back !

i've tracked this stuff off and on for about 4 years, gave it up about a year ago,

    but

something is massively busted at NVC. Do you know the difference between a GENERIC checklist and a SPECIFIC Checklist? If you got a GENERIC checklist, well, no one worries/flips out about those.

On a PC? Gots the 'signatures enabled'? click the link in my sig area, tis the Bible for NVC stuff. Please read it.

  3. After countless calls checking on the "supervisor review" I got a positive answer earlier today stating that our marriage certificate is now on file after getting a checklist for it. I thought to myself "this is too good to be true". Sure enough I called tonight and spoke to a different person to said "oh no ma'am, your case is still in "supervisor review" I don't know why that person lied and said it wasn't anymore"

Literally NO ONE gives straight answers.

  4. not to MENTION the amount of money paid and time spent gathering all the said information. Oh pay a few hundred dollars for this form to processed and pay all this money for this. And spend more money to get your medical done And then spend more money flying to have your interview when it comes time and they can't even exceptions for all of us that are struggling to just get approved. They have all our said information. It's a disgrace when they lose documents or say "you didn't submit it" when you did.

Exactly! i said that above, that we are not trying to bring people here illegally.. we provide massive amounts of paperwork first to USCIS and then to NVC so i dont understand what more proof they need, and what exactly are they trying to review and evaluate. its just become absurd. and i was told uscis is the hard part but nvc is a breeze. i beg to differ!. it cannot take this long to review some documents and match the information with the ds260 form. they have all these people workign over there and have crazy work hours 7am-12am and yet not a single account gets processed.

    so frustrated.

  5. seems like no matter who you talk to, they kinda tell you what you want to hear to get you off the phone. Nothing is consistant and NOTHING gets done like they say it gets done. With all the computer issues they were having you would think that they would have some sort of expedite going on to make up for those people who are left behind. There is no reason good enough WHY NVC should lose any documentation that anyone sends it. You are a government agency that we are all trusting to process and get this done. Whoever had a point earlier or in another thread that "it's not like we're trying get people here illegally" we are trying to be with our loved ones and they don't make it any easier at all. It's very frustrating. The worst is when you finally get through on the line and someone hangs up.

I called to speak to a supervisor last week and she said she would handle the case and get back to me in couple of days with approval.

I called again monday and they still hadnt reviewed the case or got the case, and this supervisor said shes gonna ask for the case file and look at it and let me know in 2 days or so, lets see what these two days bring.. i am gonna wait before i call again

  6. How long have you been in supervisor review?

isnt there anything we can do about this? complain to someone ?? complain to a higher up agency or something.. because so many people are suffering and it just does not make any sense at all, as to why wer have to deal with this kind of unprofessionalism its not like we are trying to smuggle someone into the country!

i have been in supervisor review, whatever the heck that means.

but for a govt agency this is pathetic.. this is where our tax dollars are going,.

  7. Thank you for your reply - I hope ours works out like yours did :)

I received the exact same checklist, for a missing marriage certificate that was in the original package. I emailed a copy of it again and was put into "supervisor review." I received a case complete a couple of days later, so it's not a big deal, at least in my experience.

  8. Has anyone here had the pleasure of going through "supervisor review" ?

We received a checklist for our marriage certificate that we submitted with our package, which they are saying they don't have. This has since gone to supervisor review.

  9. The supervisor apparently already has my case - it's waiting to be "reviewed". I am so frustrated at this whole experience because you literally go through everything with a fine tooth comb and they mess it up.

Expect 60 days for supervisor review. I was in the same boat. I got a checklist for a document i did send. When you call , they will tell you expect 42 days fir supervisor review when in fact it takes longer than 42 days. I was under supervisor review from April 24 th, until june 25 th. Make sure you sent whatever they ask before supervisor gets to your case, that's what i did. Otherwise you will be disappointed again. Just FYI

  10. how long total did your supervisor review take? We are under supervisor review for a marraige certificate they say they didn't get when i know for a fact we did send it. They literally make this whole process ridiculous.

    Wow, that really sucks.

We finally got an email from the NVC with the supposed checklist - 2 weeks after i was told on the phone about it.

They really do have no idea what they are doing.

On the phone again as i type this and will ask to speak to a supervisor - hope I won't get dismissed again.

  11. I completed my DS-260 on July 11 and I think it's stil not showing up on their end. Same thing happened when we paid our IV fee, the money came out of our account but it took almost 2 weeks to show paid on their end.

I would just keep calling them - make sure you get the answers you're looking for even if that means calling everyday.

    hi everyone,

I completed DS 260 from online 2 months ago and after waited for 60 days, called nvc and found out that they cannot see in the system that I completed the form. they told me that they r going to take a look at it and let me know what happened. when I check my status, it saying that I completed the DS 260,but NVC is saying I did not completed the form.

  12. Our IV fee was paid on June 10 and our DS-260 was available and submitted on June 11. Our IV fee did not show as paid until today when I called NVC.

It seems as though the people at NVC tell everyone different things to just get them off the phone.

I called NVC yesterday, and that agent gave me straight answers that NO ONE can pay the IV fee at the moment, he has absolutely NO idea when it will get fixed and its upto me to pay by mail or wait for website to show my fee. Its just so disappointing :( Im worrying because my PD is going to get current in August probably and i wanted all this to finish by july! Seriously is this our headache that they are unable to fix their website?!? There should be some law action against this.. we have finally reached these last steps just to GET STUCK again

Reading all the above posts, i can generally make an assumption that it is taking around 1 month after receiving IV fee invoice for it to be available to pay online. Im guessing it may show up by mid july for me..but hopefully before that they get their website working…seriously its so annoying :(
    :clock:

  13. How can a government agency claim they don't have our marriage certificate when I'm 150% sure it was sent with our forms. And on the "checklist" we received - didn't say anything about a marriage certificate until I called them just to verify something. The checklist that they sent saidt he IV fee needed to be paid when it already was. Some kind of government orgnazation eh?

How does a government agency just "lose" stuff all the time? it's crazy

  14. We also received a checklist to bring the supporting financial documents to the interview when it comes time and i when I called to verify that nothing else needed to be sent it - they then tried to tell me that they never received our marriage certificate which is a crock. The guy then went on to say " oh well i see here it's still being reviewed so that's probably why" like seriously , get your together and just move it along for all of us already. For all the hassell we've gone through with the site being down for over a month - there should be some sort of expedite.

On March 28 I received a checklist for a document I was sure I already submitted to the NVC. So I called them a few days later and asked for a supervisor review. I didn't re-submit the document. They told me 42 days. But it was only today (June 24) that my supervisor review was done. The result was... case complete. That means that I was right that I had already submitted the required document.

So I'm happy that my case is finally complete. But I'm pissed off that due to NVC's initial mistake in overlooking the document, I had to wait an additional almost 3 months. It's so depressing to think that I've been set back 3 months due to no fault of mine. Where's the compensation?

  15. I would call NVC and speak with them for advice and what I do is I call again to make sure i get the same answer more than once. The people at NVC don't always give the same advice.

I just got a checklist email with this:

I did not work last 3 years and did not file taxes, so didn't have any W2s to show. In i-864, I showed my assets in part 7. I showed $81,000 in a checking account and provided current bank statement as well.

What should I do? Do I really need to use a co-sponsor or should I talk to someone at NVC to sort this out? I thought assets of 3x poverty guidelines was enough, as I am sponsoring my wife and I currently live alone and support myself.

  16. Our IV fee was paid online June 10 and our DS-260 became available on June 11 and was completed. According to the NVC it's still showing not paid on their end after which point I emailed them a screenshot of our bank account with the money withrdrawn and paid as well as our completed DS-260 confirmation page that they say they haven't received. Unsure what heck now.

  17. Hi there,

We received a checklist last night stating that :

You still need to pay the Immigrant Visa Fee. You can pay the fee online at ceac.state.gov/iv. You will need the following information to pay the fee online:

If you are unable to pay online, you must submit your fee using the alternative payment option by submitting a cashier's check or money order. For alternative payment instructions, please visit our website at http://nvc.state.gov.

WE PAID OUR IV FEE ON JUNE 10, 2015.

    It also states that:

The National Visa Center (NVC) recently reviewed your I-864 Affidavit of Support form. The Affidavit of Support form had one or more sections with missing or incorrect information or was missing required supporting documents, or both.

Please review the instructions below to complete a new Affidavit of Support form or to obtain the missing supporting documents. Send the corrected Affidavit of Support form or original documents that are missing to the principal applicant so he or she can take them to the immigrant visa interview. You should also send photocopies of the Affidavit of Support form to the principal applicant for each traveling family member to take to the visa interview. Failure to take the original documents and copies for each traveling family member to the visa interview can cause processing delays. The Consular Officer will review the corrected form and documents at the time of the interview.

You do not need to contact the NVC at this time. Also, do not send an updated I-864 Affidavit of Support form or documents to the NVC. After we schedule the immigrant visa interview, we will send you an appointment letter.

[x] You must submit the following supporting financial evidence:

[x] If you were not required to file a federal income tax return under U.S. tax law, attach a written statement indicating why you did not file 2014 federal income tax returns.

[x] Your 2014 IRS transcript from the most recent tax year. You can get a transcript on the IRS' website:

http://www.irs.gov/individuals/order-a-transcript. If you cannot get an IRS trasnscript, please send a photocopy of your federal individual income tax return. If you provide a photocopy, you must include a copy of every Form W-2 and Form 1099 that relates to your return(s).

WHEN WE SENT IN OUR AOS PACKAGE WITH OUR IV PACKAGE - MY HUSBAND WROTE A LETTER WITH IT STATING WHY DOESN'T FILE TAXES - DUE TO COLLECTING WORKERS COMPENSATION BENEFITS AS WELL AS DISABILITY BENEFITS.

I SPOKE WITH NVC LAST NIGHT AND THE GENTLEMAN I SPOKE TO STATED THAT IT MAY TAKE A BIT FOR THE IV FEE TO COMPLETELY REGISTER GIVEN THE COMPUTER ISSUES THEY HAVE HAD, AND TO JUST BRING ALL THE EVIDENCE WITH MYSELF TO MY INTERVIEW, THAT NOTHING NEEDS TO BE SENT TO NVC AT THIS TIME - OR AT ALL.

DOES ANYONE ELSE HAVE EXPERIENCE WITH THIS?
