  1. Once an interview is scheduled - a medical can done at either of the authorized panel physicians correct? I'm trying to avoid having to stay in Montreal for a week when I can make a quick trip to Toronto to get it done and have it mailed and then fly to Montreal for my interview.

Anyone have advice or have done this themselves?

  2. CR1 visas do not get a packet 3? Good thing I read this cause I was just going to go ahead and email it in to try and get a head start before they book my interview.

    IR1/CR1 don't get a packet 3.

I wish they'd remove it from the current timelines but they used to get it a long time ago which is why they don't.

  3. What did he mean "under review"

I called today, and the guy told me that in one place my case looks completed from 7/10, and in the other place it shows under review. He put some request in for me.

  4. you should make sure you're "quoting" people so they are notified when you respond and that it's the correct person lol. I will call NVC in about a week and check up. Keep me posted if you get an interview date in the meantime.

I thought I was talking to aszestopalow, since you both have very similar profile pictures. Since your case was completed last month, response to you makes sense. It means embassy and NVC are working closely.

  5. soooo....do we just wait? LOL or should I bet contacting someone? Did you get your packet 3/4 yet?

    Congrats.

I just emailed Montreal about when they will open up more appointments, this is what I got:

    Good morning,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

The Consulate General in Montreal is committed to scheduling immigrant visa interview appointments as soon as possible after the applicant’s file is documentarily ready. The Consulate General works closely with the National Visa Center and CSC Visa Information Services, our appointment system contractor, to determine the number and category of immigrant visa cases that are ready for interview, and ensure there are adequate appointments available. The calendar is reviewed several times per month, and additional appointment slots may be added as available visa numbers change. If there are no appointments available, applicants are requested to re-try regularly, as it is likely additional appointment slots will be opened.

Applicants who need assistance in making an immigrant visa appointment can visit the Official U.S. Visa Information & Appointment Services website at https://usvisa-info.com/, or contact their office at https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-ca/iv/information/contact_us

    Sincerely,

    OP11

  6. Don't believe how ever many days they do tell you. No matter how many times you call there and speak to someone, it's always a different answer.

My case is also in the state that the supervisor has requested my file. I have sent all the documents and its their mistake that the one who reviewed my case doesn't know i am a Sri Lankan National residing in India and the District Police certificate is all enough to process my case. How stupid they are? For this now I need to wait for the supervisor to review my case. How long will it take the supervisor to receive my file?

  7. They lost our marriage certificate as of June 17, 2015 and we were told over the phone when we happened to call that there was NOT a marriage certificate on their files for the AOS/IV package we sent in on May 18. For almost a month I've been calling saying they lost it and if they've been able to find it - we JUSt got a checklist yesterday for the marriage certificate. Everytime you call, supervisor unavailable. No one tells the truth. This is the ONLY thing stopping our case from being completed.

Yes. They even refuse to acknowledge they have my completed ds-260? It sounded so unbelievable that I must've asked at least 6more times how that was even possible that they couldn't and wouldn't be able to see the completed do-260 I completed. Damn lies or really terrible system!

  8. It can take 30 days to get your case# and IIN#

    Hi VJers,

We called NVC earlier today and the gentleman told us that our case is still "too early". We got our NOA 2 June 23, NOA 1 May 18.

Is it really too early? Are they having problems with this one? Any feedback is appreciated :)

  9. NVC is literally the worse thing EVER. They lost our marriage certificate. The let me know over the phone after we got a generic checklist for original I-864 to be brought to the interview. June 17 we got notified about this "missing marriage certificate" that they took a month to actually send us a checklist for. I sent the marriage certificate via email as per NVC supervisor and we still got a checklist. No one will own up or acknowledge that NVC lost our marriage certificate.

Could delay things ANOTHER 45 days

    Great !!!

  10. Thanks for the reply - I was able to speak to supervisor today and we have our fingers crossed that our case will be completed soon. Any timeframe on when you'll get an interview date?

My case was stuck in website down fiasco for couple of weeks. But check my timeline in my signature.

  11. Has anyone here had any good/bad news from NVC? Any movement being made in peoples cases that were stuck in the "website" being down fiasco? Just trying to get an idea as to where people are at.

  12. I'm still waiting for a call back from a supervisor since Monday and I've called twice about the supervisor and that no one has called us.

    Hey all,

Yesterday i called NVC and requested to speak to a supervisor because i have been stuck there since april i got a check list on May 14 and sent it back and received by them on May 24, and still have gotten a response. It took me over two months to fill out DS-260 due to system issues. The supervisor told me that he will request my file and look over it. Have any if you been told this, and if so how long did you get a response back?

  13. Just to recap :

Yesterday NVC told me around lunch time that the only thing holding up our case was the review of the DS-260 and that our marriage certificate was now on file after the "supervisor" review. I thought that was a little fishy so I called back last night and spoke to another person to let me know the previous person had lied and that it had NOT been reviewed yet but that a supervisor DOES have it and it's literally just waiting to be reviewed.

I just got off the phone AGAIN with NVC where a different person let me know that all of what was said wasn't true, a supervisor does not have our case yet and the marriage certificate is still waiting to be reviewed.

How does this "government" agency get away with doing all of this???

Ughhh... After the whole ordeal of the website malfunction the NVC has managed to lose all of our civil documents and has given us a check list and now in supervisor review... Of course this will delay us by another 30 to 40 days... How can you lose something that is stapled together and has the name and case number on every document... Gross incompetence is a understatement.... Sheeeeshhhh

You're telling me?! I have never in my life dealt with an agency whose processes are extremely bureaucratic. They behave in a "no one can question me" manner. Their customer representatives are so rude and lack empathy. I am just happy I'm almost done with them.

  14. Wouldn't it be something if they were taking our names into account and THAT's why our stuff is delayed because of what we're saying is the truth! LOL

they have all these people working for them yet they cannot get cases done and they lose files and documentations its just all so absurd! what is the point of these hours anad these employees.

I wonder if they read tis blog or if our voices make any difference at all.

  15. They make this whole process very frustrating. They should not be allowed to say anything that isn't true or have people working for them that don't know answeres to our questions. Where are you guys at now as far as your case goes?

I believe NVC does all these to slow down one's case. After 5 months at USCIS, my case finally arrived at NVC. I completed DS-261, paid AOS fee, mailed to them financial and civil docs and paid IV fee. I was waiting to fill out DS-260 and all of a sudden, my case status on CEAC showed the case had been sent back to USCIS for administrative processing (AP). I immediately called NVC to ask what was going on. How on earth could a case that had not gone to the embassy/consulate be placed under AP. They told me to contact USCIS as they could not provide me any info about the case any longer.

So, I called USCIS to ask why the already approved case was sent back to them. They told me they had no idea and that as far as they were concerned my case was approved and good to go. I lost almost 2 months in the process and NVC would not allow to complete DS-260 during that period. The funniest thing was that NVC sent me a checklist for not completing DS-260 and that my case would be delayed if I did not complete the form. And I was like how would I complete a form that you would not make available for me to fill out?.

This process is just a joke. Agreed there is only one NVC attending to millions of applications but at least they should be honest and treat people who want to be with their loved ones with respect and deserved courtesy.

    #Rant over...phew!
