  1. it is now saying "Your visa is in final processing. If you have not received it in more than five (5) working days, please go to http://usvisa-info.com/en-CA/selfservice/us_courrier_information to track your courier waybill."

    YAYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

Not going to lie, I was expecting for you to have a longer wait just from the horrors I've seen in the AP thread. I'm genuinely excited for you LOL.

Mine said what yours did and the 24 hours later it changed to the second posted one,

Usually, Issued state looks like this. Yours look more like Administrative Processing state.

  2. we were also given a 221g for joint sponsor which the consulate received on the 8th. When I emailed the consulate I was told that it would take up to 8 weeks for them to review the documents. I was told at the interview however, that as soon as they received our documents that the visa would be issued, they also kept my passport at the interview, so even if I wanted to go visit my husband (whom I haven't seen since May) - I couldn't.

I would keep emailing the consulate once they receive your documents and keep asking. Stay ontop of it.

Hi! Im in about the same situation. My interview was yesterday Oct 8 2015 and my case was placed on AP coz they were looking for the current I-864 (original which I have but yhey didnt ask during the interview) W2 2014, income tax return 2014 and I-864A of my joint sponsor's wife...all those 4 requirements and I was given a form and was told to send it via 2GO if i already have it all. All 3 we have now, still working on the I-864A of my joint sponsor's wife. We are now hoping that if I mail it soon via 2GO that the AP Status on CEAC will soon change. I dont know what to do right now except to pray and hope everything will go out well. The horror stories of those who are undergoing AP status is really making me all nervous.Good luck to us all who are undergoing this problem. God bless us all. Ill update this post soon once we submit whatnthey are asking and if any changes or not.

  3. I have sent off from Winnipeg the requested documents that the consular officer asked for at my interview on September 24. Does anyone have any experience or idea for time frame, how long it takes for them to review and issue a visa?

They held on to my passport at the interview and said it would be issued pending receiving of requested joint-sponsor documentation and I was told that as soon as they received everything the visa would be issued.

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

  4. NVC also approved our case and when it came time for the Consulate interview in Montreal, Canada - they gave us a 221G for a joint sponsor. - I believe that this is the fault of the NVC in that if there were issues with any said documents a check-list should have been sent and things should have been fixed and taken care of before it went onto the consulate. NOW people who have been ask for more - are the sufferers in having to spend more time waiting and sending more documents in.

I hope it doesn't take much longer. Our documents will be sent to the consulate next week as I'm waiting for everything form the U.S. from my husband and we'll go from there.

    Hello,

My husband had his interview yesterday in Jersualem and they told him he needed a joint sponsor. While I did provide 2014 taxes, some of my taxes were from foreign income and as for my US taxes, I believe the interviewer did not make a fair determination since I only started the US job in October and sent in one paystub (its what I had when I sent the documents to the NVC).

I can get a joint sponsor, but instead, would it be fair to just send in my pay stubs for the year 2015? My gross salary per year is $24,000, which is well above the US poverty line for a couple of two. I receive two pay stubs per month, each $1000 in gross income.

Option two is to not risk it and send in a joint sponsor. Also, does anyone know how long it takes? They said everything else looked perfectly fine.

    Thanks

  5. Hey there

Has anyone ever had issues using a permanent resident as the joint-sponsor for affidavit of support. My husbands best friend has lived and worked in the U.S. For over 4 years and has been granted his permanent residency and he's willing to be a joint-sponsor. He makes well over the mininmum requirements for this.

Also - does anyone know how long it take Defoe Montreal to review these things and issue a visa ? The guy who interviewed me stated as soon as they get it a visa will be issued the next day but I've read some mix reviews on that.

I want to make sure that using the joint sponsor with permanent resdency is ok - it does state that it's an option on the form.

Any input from you would be greatly appreciated.

  6. Thank you for the reply. We are gas sully waiting for the sponsor to fill the form out and attach what's needed and send courier express to me in Canada. I hope it doesn't take 8 weeks to review. I would like to at least be there by Xmas.

"Nolabound So sorry that you didn't get approved on the spot. We've walked in those shoes so we understand. The good news is you have someone willing to provide the joint sponsor. It was one of the piece we needed as well. Just have the person complete the I-864 with all the supporting docs (Proof of income , (In our case they needed income of over $25000) &Tax Returns usually the two most recent ones -2013 &2014) and get it to MTL as soon as possible. The form will have information for the JOINT SPONSOR and the BENEFICIARY. They should have instructed you when you received the 221G to send via Loomis There is usually a wait of about 10 days from when you send it and they receive it to the date they actually acknowledge receipt because their mail goes to an off site facility and not where you had your interview. Once they do your status should change from AP to READY.. However MTL can take up to 8 weeks to review the document you sent prior to changing your status to issued. Hoping for a quicker turn around for you.

  7. Thank you so so much for your help and responding. I appreciate it so so much

Yes, the additional form will only have their own information on it. Just make sure you read on how to submit all the proper documents that pertain to the joint sponsor as a few things will determine what supporting documents you need so you don't get delayed again with a RFE.

Edited to add: The joint sponsor should fill out their own I-864, as it serves as financial contract between the them and the intending immigrant.

  8. Thank you so much for you reply. The Montreal consulate already has our I-864 from my husband. They sent me away to have one filled out by a joint-sponsor.

I just wanted to clarify that the joint spooner i-864 is ONLY filled out on behalf of the joint sponsor.

The Joint sponsor will need to fill out an additional I-864 (I864-A if they are part of your household) with all proper supporting documents, and your husband still needs to have his as well. Your spouse will still be the primary sponsor, even if his income does not meet guidelines, so just make sure you correct all the income listed since you have to remove the income that doesn't qualify.

This is the best to my knowledge, and I'm sure some more experienced members can either correct or confirm. Good luck!

  9. Hello everyone.

I had my interview in Montreal yesterday and everything went perfectly until he started reviewing our I-864 and supporting documents.

My husband collects disability and workers compensation benefits which I had proof of it all. In the interview I was told that the workers compensation doesn't count which made no sense and that just the disability amount alone didn't meet the financial requirements. WHICH should have been noticed at NVC and given a checklist for.

We now have to get a joint sponsor which we have someone willing to do that for us.

My question is - does the joint sponsor now only fill out an I-864 form? My husbands name doesn't go anywhere on it ? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  10. I can't answer this question as my husband collects workers compensation benefits from a workplace accident - he doesn't file taxes.

Another question for the day of the interview (Sept. 28th). realized I only have the 1040A...the one sheet summary of my husband's taxes for 2014. It is too late now for me to get the entire return but did anyone here bring the full return or just the top sheet?

That is the only thing I can see them giving me a 221g over.....

  11. I believe the only time you would need to bring any previous passport is IF you started the process with one passport and ended up renewing possibly in the process as it was going to expire. That's what I did. My initial stuff has my old passport number that has since been renewed therefore I will be bringing both my passports to my interview.

I didn't bring any of my old passports and they never asked for them. They only wanted to see my current passport, so I wouldn't worry about it!

  12. I just spoke with a Border Officer who stated that to bring a vehicle across the border and import it, that a letter or stickers need to state it passes EPA and DOT standards. He also stated that any vehicle that was manufactured in Canada or the U.S. does not require duty to be paid
