Asuming my cn AF12xx that means i might go for interview in october. what happens if I don't fill the DS-260 until october. the problem is I am currently in India and will be coming back to Ghana on 20th September, do I have to wait till I come to Ghana to fill the form? If so will my cn be preserved and still be granted access to interview?

If you fillup your ds230 in the 2 following months you will be definitly be scheduled for october but if you do it in september they will reschedule you asap, so you will be interviewed probably december or january! If you wanna delay your interview you can just fill your ds260 app later like i said....

Remember to take a police clearance from india ...

My number is AS12XXX and my country has only a couple of hundred approvals every year.

I checked the DV website and it seems that the highest number for Asia in the last two years is around 10000. It seems to be slowing down for Asia and I fear I might not even get an interview chance.

Up until 2012 I probably would have had an interview around January but for the last two years it's very slow for Asia. What do you guys think?

Thank you for the replies! Does anyone have a contact for KCC? Email or phone? It really is frustrating, I know for certain that page came up with my name and it had a case number, i checked my wifes confirmation on the same webpage, she wasn't selected so I don't know if the browser cache or something is still showing her page now instead. Although i did refresh it , try another browser and checked on my phone and mine now shows not selected.

Im guessing though there is nothing they will do for me?

According to the ceac dat the the succes rate of iran and nepal is very high so they might hit the 7% country limit before reaching 12k cn or 13k cn....

The selection document says "You have been randomly selected for further processing in the Diversity Immigrant Visa Program for the fiscal year 2015 (October 1, 2014 to September 30, 2015)"

So they start in October.

In august they will publish the cutoff of october !

October for sure, you should tart getting your paper work.

And try to get an affidavit of support, I you can't get a bank statment for at least 10k $ for a single person...

so i applied for a dvlottery right on the first day it became available which was on october 1st,2013, and i checked the result on may 1st,2014 (last thursday) and i got selected, problem is, my daughter is now 20 and about to turn 21 on august 3rd, (her birth year is 1993) and i happenened to get a pretty high case number for my region (asia) 13,xxx

does this mean that should i pass the interview, my daughter won't be considered eligible to get a visa ? i've read something called "child status protection act" but i don't really understand all the legalese, can someone explain to me ?

Look after she turns 21, you have an extra 211 days according to the child protec act law.

AFAIK, APs start once the DS-260 is filed to KCC. So they should have from May 2014 till August 2015 (estimated interview date). That's a hell long time to look someone up or not?

Haha no ! At the time of the interview, some get denied some get visa granted, some get put into AP for missing document for suspecious back ground ! And many various reasons...

The thing whith the AP is you never know when will it end it can take few days or several months and if your timeline is short you might hit the wall at the end of the fiscal year (30 september). And you will loos out
