You rather fill just the education qualification, since they only need high school diploma(12years education).

The work experience is a very tricky process lots get denied because they don't really qualify on it !

Hey guys!!! I was thinking... is there any way we can find the quotas for each region for dv2014??? I mean, last couple of years, SA region issued around 1000 or 1100 visas with +- 2500 selectees. This year, they selected 4620, so I was wondering if maybe the quota was increased or if we can get that information anywhere.

The visas quotas are determined by DOS after approval of the law makers...

Each region has its own quota, I will get you some links later.

One more question please , do you think Asia got 18% of the total number of visas issued because no more application were there? why for example Africa got 47% of total numbers and EU 32% ? is it because they had much more applications? why Africa has 20900 visa issued within a year when Asia 8500 per the same time period, I mean the rate of visa processed per month on average : Afria 1741 visa per month but Asia 708 only visa per month... do they balance the process time based on how many applications each country has so that towards the end of the fiscal year everybody gets a chance?

Looks like you and Susie right, I added up all the maximum numbers for 6 regions for 2013 it's equal to 141,117 if that was the number of total selected

Last year they selected 62000 from africa with cn number AF01 untill AF116000... So because of the Holes the numbers are stratched...

I'd say 100 to 150 ... But august will jump with 400 minimun...

They interviwed all the selectees in dv13 when visa bulletin show current at the latest month of the fiscal year it means they are visas available for everyone.

Only exception was iran they hit the country limit 3770 per country...

You must watch the VB 2014 and see what happens that you can take up an assumption for dv2015...

If asia goes current you will surely get an interview because syria are not loaded with winner usually...

Maybe I'm missing something or my interpretation of the numbers is wrong.

So studying 2013 statistics I found that the maximum case number got current for Asia was ~ AS0010500, so in order for my number ( ~AS0011000) to be current we have to have an extra of 1000 case numbers (CN) current this year,which is equals to around 2000 extra visas ( on average each Case Number has two derivatives even 2.5).

Knowing that total of ~8500 visa was issued to Asia (18% of total number of issued visas ) , so Asia in DV2015 have to have at least 10500 visas which is around 24% increase in the number of visas ... I found it pretty unlikely and my chances are very low ... .please correct me if I'm missing something

my name is sherif kamal mohamed, kamal is my father

the name in the winning page appear like this MOHAMED, SHERIF KAMAL

this mean that i write it as middle name? i`m asking so they don`t consider it as a lie when writing ds260

second i have a friend in USA will write his address as green card address should i write his address in the permanent address or leave it blank?i will be in his address for awhile.

Yes you can use your friend adress to get your GC shipped over there.

The only months where you can notice huge jumps are the last two ! Oc wont show on the link but you can check on the visa bulletin site the oc progress...

With my AS12xxx number I may or may not make it. I hope I will have all my documents ready before that. Why is Asia moving so so slowly for the past two years and is there any chance for improvement this year? ie. that it may go back to the pre-2012 speed of processing??

YOu must be careful about the Police clearance... Because some countries only 3 or 6 months validity ...so you should check it out !

Yes like Vladek said, you can delay submitting it, and then because you will already be current when you send the form in they will schedule you in the next available interview round. Just be aware that might not happen immediately as (from what I can figure out) they schedule the interviews around 8 weeks in advance. Interview notifications are sent out usually 6-7 weeks before the interview.

But if you are back 20 September, why do you want to delay? Are you concerned you will not have time to collect all your civil documents between when you get back to Ghana and the interview date?
