Thank you both. I just don't know why my file has been missed and there is nothing I can do but wait. It's just a shame that my whole life I have been a "wait my turn, have patience, good things come to those who wait" sort of person, but now I have lost all trust in the system.
I do definitely realise it could be so much worse if I lived in a horrible place or was separated from my spouse, etc. But, at the same time I have waited for my turn and it's like everyone is cutting in line (obviously not their fault, so I don't blame anyone who is getting reviewed before me).
What makes it worse for me is the constant lies the NVC operators feed me to get me off the line. Today I was told they most definitely review mail in order received, and when I asked why people with later scan dates were being reviewed she said something about different cases take different times. I then asked why if mine was only a checklist it wouldn't take less time. She then said they don't know what is in the envelopes before they start to review them. So, she totally contradicted herself. If they went in order, mine would take less time than say a brand new AOS package.
    Lies, lies, lies.

Thank you my friends. Your positive vibes and kind words do come as a comfort. Tonight I am going to drink a little wine and forget about it and call tomorrow on day 60 and see what they are going to do about it! Hopefully they will tell me I have a CC.

Hi VJ friends. Tomorrow is day 60 since NVC received my checklist document. I am tired, stressed and anxious about it. I don’t know what to do. Every time I call they tell me to wait 60 days. What happens after that? I could ask for a supervisor review, but that will take 60 days? I am so frustrated. Every time we reach a deadline, they move it. Why have they skipped my file? They keep insisting they review in order received. I want to scream, I want to cry, I want to crawl into a hole. Sorry to be so negative, but I just need to vent.
On another note, I really am happy for those of you with good news, I just wish mine would come soon.

Day 57 and still no cc. Getting so discouraged, I don't even want to check ceac anymore. Each time is like a tiny dagger of disappointment in my heart. I truly feel like this is just never going to happen for me. The longer it takes the more I worry they have found something else wrong and will issue me a another checklist. It's just constant worry and butterflies, I really hate this.

I am hoping your husband has luck sorting the checklist out with the lawyers. Good to hear you were able to order the original.
Wish they would finish June first

First thing to do is read Saylin's wiki:
    http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
Read it once, twice, three times a lady and you will be laughing. If there is anything you don't understand shout out, there are lots of us here who have been here awhile and can assist you.
Good luck for a speedy NVC experience. If you're not already crazy, we can show how to do that too!

Just got through to NVC for the first time (yes, I am taking the "wait for an email" approach) and only had to wait about 10 minutes to get connected. I didn't catch the name of the person I spoke with, but she was very nice and efficient. She seemed like she knew her stuff - very confident. I asked if my AOS package had arrived (was delivered yesterday according to FedEx) and she confirmed that they just received it. She also mentioned that my DS-261 had not yet been reviewed (submitted it on 7/29). She said, "before I give you a time frame, I want you to know that we are very backed up and working extra hours to try and reduce this backup as quickly as possible". Call me crazy, but I actually beileve her. She seemed genuinely sorry and not defensive.
I also asked about sending in the civil documents - IV package. She told me, without hesitating, that I could send this in at any time and just use the AOS cover sheet. She informed me that everything but the passport copy had to be originals and suggested that the applicant bring a photo copy of the docs to the interview and request the originals back (by replacing them with the copies). She also said to make sure to make copies of everything before sending them. I'm leaning towards sending the IV package in before being invoiced and will continue to read other people's replies/experiences with this in the next week or so.
Hope everyone has a great day! I'm on team NordicTim and trying to stay positive

You have an amazing attitude, I just love it! The world needs more people with your resilience. Enjoy your evening with the kids and I hope the lawyer can assist in some way
Keep smiling and spreading your positivity xo
I have been struggling to find perspective this week and seeing how you roll with the punches is an inspiration.

Anyone else still waiting for review of docs (esp checklists) scanned 20 June or earlier? I feel like mine has somehow slipped through the cracks as I see they are working on 25th June.
I just feel like I get screwed at every step of the way, why do I always get in the slow line?
Is it true it's darkest right before the dawn? I feel like I have tried to stay positive as much as possible and I have exercised patience, but now I am just getting
Tensions are high at home and I feel like my hubby will say one day soon "enough is enough, we are staying here in Australia". My family would be devastated, I almost wish we hadn't told them we are coming

Government inefficiency and incompetence at their worst!! Whenever my wife visits the government-centralized public cancer clinic she would wait for an hour or so even though all doctor's offices are manned with the doctors twiddling their thumbs in there. The reason? The employees managing the electronic registration and patients' case files show up extremely late and are not answerable to the clinic's medical management, even though they're there to facilitate the doctor's workload! But I digress...
As a parallel route to what you outlined, I would try to write a passionate letter to the (Sidney ?) Consulate explaining the whole situation:
    a. NVC is working on outdated assumptions and giving grief to all applicants from Australia because of PCC issues.
    b. NVC is clueless to adoption papers and is unfairly holding the case hostage.
    c. Your case has been stuck at NVC past 4 months now with no expected resolution for possibly another 2 months.
Basically, have your lawyer help you draft a letter to invoke whatever is legally equivalent to a Lemon Law. Attach copies of all submitted documents and ask them to request NVC to forward your case as is to the Consulate.
It couldn't hurt... It might even work!

    Don't panic.
Your first step is to read Saylin's wiki http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process and it will tell you everything you need to know.
    Quoted from wiki:
Note: if you're getting an error message ("Please be advised that the case that you have attempted to access is not eligible for further processing by the National Visa Center at this time…" or "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" or "You cannot make online payments for your case at this time. Please contact the NVC if you have questions or need further information."), do NOT panic. This is actually good news! If you just got your case number, then this message means NVC is inputting your case in their system. If you get this message a few days after case number generation, then it's a good possibility that NVC is invoicing your AOS bill. And if this message appears a few days after DS-261 acceptance, then there's a good chance the IV bill is being invoiced.

Just reporting what I am being told Tico, I am sorry your USCIS trip was so long and overall experience so negative. Sure it has been longer than any of us originally estimated, but in reality what can you truly do about it? Honestly, sitting around moaning and groaning may help some people, but i have found trying to be positive works for me, I try and see the glass half full instead of half empty. And in my case, right about now? I am seeing the glass about 70% full.
Sure I wanted my wife here before our first anniversary in 26 days. Sure I wanted her here before her birthday and Halloween. I am happy if she is here before Thanksgiving. I am happy if she is here before Christmas. I am happy when she gets here, no matter what day that may be. I go see her every two months and we are non stop via whatsapp and every night via video. Sure it sucks sometimes, but guess what? Just get a little sugar and some water and we can sweeten those lemons right up. Think positive Tico because in the end It all works out...
    Smile
Its a beautiful day in Philly, try to enjoy the day...because you are only given so many. Trust me, it could be a hell of a lot worse.

Dude? You may need some professional help. Seriously. Go see a counselor or other professional if you are seriously feeling this way. This is not the first time you have had extreme comments on this board. I am not trying to be rude or mean, but rather suggest that this may be helpful for you personally. You greatly concern me.
My other suggestion is to try and be more active. I play guitar. I go to the gym. I am learning my fourth language. I am studying for my fourth certification. In addition to working 10 to 12 hours a day. Idol hands are the devils workshop. Laying in bed for an entire weekend? Not acceptable. Get off your butt and take control of your life instead of letting this process take control of you (some tough love there Dude). It is not how high you go in life, but how far you have come. You have come a long way, dont quit before the finish line.

Spoke to Anna, who was the first operator I have ever heard that sounds like she has any compassion or a soul. She was very lovely, but still said unfortunately they have had to extend their review times. She insisted that they do review all documents received in order, which I know is untrue and I pointed out other case completes with later scan dates, but she said it shouldn't be too much longer for me and everyone received the email and there isn't anything wrong with my case. She also said it is 60 calendar days, not business days (which I think most people already know) and so my docs should be reviewed in the next couple of weeks.
We have hit a snag at every step. If I hadn't gotten a checklist, I would have had a case complete in June, now I will be lucky to get a September interview. I hate, hate, hate everything about this. It is just wrong.

Sounds like a good day. Just speaking to my husband and told him about you. Perhaps we can stay in touch and meet up in US. Parents in law live on Whidbey Island so we are often in that neck of the woods. We will be living in upstate New York.
Just took a couple of headache tablets, have a cup of soup and now going to snuggle under the quilt and watch a movie until school pickup this afternoon.

Thanks Soloenta. My 30 business days from scan is tomorrow, so I hope my CC is coming this week and I don't get tripped up with the new 60 day thing.

On hold now to find out my scan date for my checklist docs. Deep down hoping they will tell me case complete, but doubtful since my AOS fee hasn't changed to N/A.
"Because of the personal attention given to every caller you may experience a brief delay….." *shudder*
USCIS and NVC have given my life 13-month-and-counting "brief delay"
