Thanks guys. All the information we enter is correct, I guess they screwed it up. I called them up and we have to go to the airpot
-
It takes them a while to get the I-94 in the computer system so it could be two or three weeks before your in the system and then you have too think about the hoildays also....Hope I helped
It's been 10 days now, you should be able to pull that info right away. Thanks.
That is weird :-( I was able to get my wife's and daughter's I-94 right after a few days from entering.
IMPORTANT!!!!!
Make sure you have entered your fiance's name as it appears on the passport i.e. first name, middle name, all last names exactly as it appears on the biograhical page of the passport, otherwise you will get an error.
If your fiance has two last names enter both under last name ..... The same goes for the first names, under first name given, if your fiance has two, enter both names in the field not just one.
I hope this helps :-)
I double checked all the info, it's all correct. I think they misspelled either her first or last name. I think I have to call them up and find out. Thanks for your message.

Hi all,
My fiance entered US a week ago and we are applying for her SSN. They require a digital copy of I-94, but when I try to obtain that form this site listed on VJ, we get "Not Found" error. Can we just get the SSN by showing them her K1 visa? or is there any other way to get a copy of I-94?
Thanks in advance

Our interview was today. It was a 10 min interview, and they didn't say that we are approved. They just got the passport and said "will contact you when it's ready". What does that mean? are we approved? just left us hanging ... They didn't ask for any missing documents, etc.. just left us hanging ...

hi everyone, i just received my co-sponsors affidavit of support and I just have a question...
she checked "do not intend to make....." on #11 and then wrote N/A k-1 visa process
is that ok? I checked "intend" and then wrote n/a k-1 visa process. i just don't want ours to be turned down for a silly reason like this
thanks!

Not applicable for K1 visa as my fiance intend to stay in US, and since it's an immigrant visa. However, I will be responsible for all visa expenses as well as airfares.

She passed the interview !!!!!!!
Her appointment was at 10AM and she got out by 12. The interview was long. We got a list of questions that are normally asked in an interview from a website and we practiced that carefully. Even so, there were some questions that caught her by surprised like "how did I get my citizenship ?", "why did I get a divorce?" etc.
Everything else was pretty much similar to what other users have posted here.
Congrats!!! can you share the list of questions you used for interview?

does anyone know how long police clearance forms are good for? we did ours back in january when we originally filed and just got our packet 3 today, and was wondering if that is still good?
also, my fiancé is here currently in the united states. his mom scanned his packet over to us while he is here on a visit, but since there is stuff that needs his signature, i am not too sure what to do. should i have her mail the packet here? or should i print off the scanned copy and just submit that? he is going back to NZ soon, but not soon enough for all of this stuff to wait
thanks!
I read somewhere they are valid for a year.

So here are my today's question's my dear fellow visa journey friends.
On Monday it showed "case ready" at New Delhi, so as everyone suggested, we finally yesterday submitted the DS-160 online. I the petitioner hasn't received the letter from NVC yet saying that case has gone to New Delhi, but of course after calling they told me and gave me the case and invoice id number. I would like to know where do we use the invoice ID number. I did see the requirement on the DS-160.
1. So can we schedule an interview date now even though I have no paperwork except the NOA 2 and NOA 1?
2. She hasn't received anything from the embassy yet, I know she needs the "packet" to get the PCC. They wont let her get it without a hard letter
3. I see that a payment is due, once the DS-160, should we pay it now, or wait and please advise where to pay it.
4. I am not sure if I have missed something, but please advise if I did. Thanks all again
Thanks in advance.
Hey, our interview is in few days, and I filled out DS-160 before our case arrives at that embassy (transferred from one embassy to another). So here are my thoughts:
1- I think so, the only "paper work" is the DS 160 form, the rest of packet 3 is evidence of relationship, passport, picture for visa and medical examination
2- They emailed me the "packet 3" not even my fiance, and asked us to pay the fee and schedule the appointment ... it's nothing but a list of documents that you can find in VJ, just search for the embassy and packet 3.
3- I'd fill out DS-160 first, because in order to pay you need to provide confirmation # from DS 160.
4- No that's pretty much it

January filler here ...
Our case is still transferring between two embassies thanks to NVC
... they sent it to the wrong embassy, and we had to request a file transfer. we were approved 2 months ago, still not sure were our file is. Anyone experienced the same thing? How long should we wait
-
Hey guys, after filling out form DS 160, we realized that we need to provide the embassy with our NOA2 from USCIS. Do they accept the copy as well, or they only need to original. I can scan and email it to my fiance. Mailing it would take so much time.

My case was sent to Kingston, Jamaica from August 18th. I have been contacting them about packet 3 since August 26th, still no packet 3 received up to now. We filled out and submitted DS-160 form. The embassy said they sent the packet but the postal system seems so unreliable. Can they send the information electronically? Anyone with similar issue?
Almost in the same situation. My case was transferred to another country, and am still waiting for something since late August

Hey guys, we have requested a file transfer from kuala lumpur embassy to embassy at Yerevan. According to CEAC website, they recieved our file almost 10 days ago, and I keep asking them what we have to do next, and they keep telling us "we will notify you when we receive your files". Now my question is that do we need to fill out form Ds-165 first, or wait for them to let us know what to do. Also, they still have my fiance's old address on file, and I think we need to update the address first, before filling out DS-. An I correct? Should we wait for their email or fill out DS -165 already? I asked them this queation, but they didnt answer.
Thanks

Hey January fillers! My fiance used to live in another country and we have provided her current address at the time. She moved back home, and NVC sent the case the the embassy where she doesn't live anymore. I requested a transfer and the case is now received by the new embassy, and they haven't contacted us yet. How long will it take for them to contact us? Also, they still have her old address on file. Should I email them and ask them to send the packet to the new address? or just wait for them to contact me? I have no idea what the next step would be.

Yes called, emailed, contacted senator, congressman, no nothing ......
Ugh that really sucks! I hope you get approved in next few days. I thought TSC is doing better now. Best of luck!

How do you know what date they sent the case to NVC? I'm trying to figure out when to call to get my NVC case number.
After my NOA2 was approved, I got another text notification (probably 2 weeks later) that our case was sent to NVC. Then I called NVC few days later, they asked for my USCIS case number, and gave me the NVC # and the date it was recieved. No email notification or mail.
-
I finally got a case # from NVC. Our NOA2 was received on July 31st, and they sent the case to NVC on August 7th, and NVC assigned a case number on August 18th (no notification, I called them). Our case # starts with KLL, that's I believe Kuala Lumpur. Anyone has any experience with this embassy?
And congrats on new approvals!

I got it from this link: http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/english/immigrate/types/family/fiance-k-1.html
However, if your consulate is in Armenia, this link from VJ may have more country-specific information: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Armenia&cty=Yerevan
I cannot find info for the exact fee amount for the K-1 interview in Armenia, but I'm sure that info will be included in your packet 3. Additionally, you can probably also call and ask what the fee schedule is.
Thank you again. I'm not sure where our consulate is yet. It's probably in Abu Dhabi. For some reason, Visajourney displays Armenia for us lol

Here is a list of all the things required in packet 3 from the DoS website. The only things you should have to provide are: a new letter of intent to marry, any evidence of the relationship you have, affidavit of support and a copy of your NOA2. Hope this helps!
Hey thank you so much! May I ask where did you find this? The last item, Payment of Fees, is unclear.
Thanks a bunch!

You guys! Our packet is officially in transit according to CEAC!!! Did not expect things to move so fast. That is all. I'm really excited. I hope everyone else is doing ok
Congrats!!! Do you know what they need from you in this packet? My NOA2 is approved, and my case was sent to NVC 2 weeks ago. I'm going to visit my fiance in next two weeks, and I want to take/prepare all the paper works she'll need. Thanks!
-
Hello, my case was sent to NVC on August 7th, but they haven't received it yet. How long will it take for them to assign a case number? From one waiting line, to another waiting line ... NICE!
-
We just got a notification that our case was sent to NVC, yest at 11:45pm again! they are really working hard. We got our NOA2 on July 21st, and case was sent to NVC on August 7th.
So here's a question for you guys. My Fiance was living in Malaysia, and I put down her address in Malaysia. Our case took so long, and she decided to move back home to Iran, so she's doesn't live in Malaysia anymore. Would that be a problem? Do I need to call them back and let them know that she doesn't leave there anymore? She does't mind going back there for embassy
-
congrats to all approvals!
-
which senator are you contacted morx61 and how ...thx
Hey, I contacted Senator Toomey and Casey, and few congressman. Senator Toomey replied back to me with an email about Obamacare!! and Senator Casey's office called me up to follow up my case. I got approve the same day his office contacted me. I didn't put any service request or asked any senator to look into my case. We got approved in 6 months and 2 weeks.
Do we need to change name on SSN for K1 visa and AOS
in Social Security Numbers
Posted
Hey guys,
My fiance/wife entered US 1.5 month ago, and we already married, and ready to apply for AOS. I was reading the process for K1 on VJ, and it mentioned that we are required to go back to SSA, and change name on card. Now my question is that is this step mandatory or optional? What if my wife chose to keep her name as before?
Thanks,
