  1. I'm guessing the date of birth on your paperwork matches the passport. If so, you'll probably get an RFE for it not matching the birth certificate. Maybe not, it might slip by. Doubtful, though. I did something similar on my K-1 application, they spotted it and I got an RFE. Had to send them a copy of correct birth certificate.

We put his correct birthdate in the i-130 form, and yes it matches the passport. Our concern is his certificate of citizenship(form n-560) has the incorrect birth year. Month and day are correct. He is a naturalized citizen, so we did not submit his birth certificate because he wasn't born in the US.

    Thanks!:)

  2. We are waiting for NoA2. My husband included his certificate of citizenship and US passport in the i-130 that we sent.

I just realizrd that on his COC which was given to him in 1997 when he was only 13 years old has the incorrect birth year. This certificate was signed by his mother. However, his US passport has his correct birth date. I'm anxious this would cause delays in our petition.

Should he file a replacement of his certificate while waiting for noa2?

    Thanks guys! :)

  4. Assuming you actually get an RFE, it will tell you on the cover sheet the deadline date you will have to provide the required information. In my RFE, it was about 80 days from the time I actually received it in the mail.

Okay got it! Hopefully we don't get an rfe. But if ever we do, at least now I already have an idea how to handle it, thanks for providing us info! Very helpful. Have a good day :)

  5. Hello there, we received noa1 on the 3rd week of May 2014. We are still waiting for NoA2...My husband plans to visit me here in my country, and possibly stay here for about a month. My questions are:

    1. What if they send us RFE? Are they going to notify us via email and on "My Case Status"?

    2. Are we allowed to send the requested evidence to the service center from outside the U.S.?

Gosh, I miss my husband very much and I hope his vacation won't cause us problems in our petition. Thank you very much for your help friends. Have a good day!

  6. Yes, I have her complete name. I have the chatlogs of the threat and chatlogs of the admin who verified it. I really won't feel threatened if its just her who said it, but even the co admin said she really can make anyone undergo sputum. That's how powerful she think she is. Threatening

someone is never a good thing.

    Thank you.

That is totally creepy. May I know who that person is? So I can leave thatt group as well?

  7. This thread made me cry ?

I and the hubby have been away from each other for nearly 6 months now since he went back to the US. Weve been in a long distance relationship since 2011, been through a break-up and then reconciliation...and then we realized we really do love each other, so we decided to get married on Nov 2013 here in my home country, had the best time of our lives for two months.

And then wasted our time waiting for my birth certificate to be corrected thinking it's a requirement for i-130 petition...we could have started the process in January if only we knew about the process. So now, we are May-Filers.

I miss him sooooo much, everyday. I think about him all the time. Like you guys, we would spend our days off talking to each other via Skype, FB msg each other, Viber...anything that could help us ease our sadness. Sometimes, I would cry myself to sleep.... I know other people who have not experienced LDR can not relate to the emptiness we feel... but I believe that I'm experiencing all of these for the good. And it will be worth the wait. I hope his boss approves his vacation leave soon. :)

  8. Being from where I'm from and looking up processing times, it's really really hard to remain optimistic... It's looking like I'll call 2014 "my visa year". The more I find out, the more I'm certain I'm at least a year away.

I feel you. Our biggest mistake was to wait for about three months for my birth certificate to be corrected (edit: btw, I'm the beneficiary), thinking that it is required in sending our i-130.

If only we knew and read that we can actually file it w/o the birth cert as early as January, then maybe we are now moved to the next step. We really felt stupid. Haha. And that made our wait time longer. Therefore, I would call 2014 as "my visa year" as well. ?

Anyways, at least we were able to start the process. Sometimes, I would whine whole day to my husband about this prolonged long distance relationship we are having, and he always tells me that we should keep praying about it and know that we'll be together again soon. :)

So yeah, there are several times we lose our patience over this whole visa thing. I often do, haha. But I'm sure I'm experiencing all of these for the good.

    Let's keep praying :)

  9. I hate having everyone know my case in Nebraska got approved so fast, cause that puts allot of hope in others wanting there case approved in the same time frame; and then the other side people who have waited the 5-9 month time frame... I wish it was streamed for everyone, not just bad situations that make our processing go faster...

One thing I do like about this time and age, is being able to talk to my spouse so much more then just by letters... Able to chat each day, some times even three or more times. I love being able to reassure that everything is ahead of schedule, and wanting to be together so much...

@ PINOY - I would call the service center and ask about your child's visa, since your wife was approved and both were submitted at the same time. Same time, I can not imagine immigration is going to sit down with a child and ask all the questions they would ask of the spouse or parent. Seriously, a case worker asking a 2 year old... That's the tax payers money at work right there!

I echo your thoughts in that matter. I hope everyone of us gets a speedy approval. It's never is easy to be away from you significant other.

Thank God for being in the high-tech age, haha. It's refreshing to be able to talk to my spouse everyday.:)

    Let's keep the faith! :)

  10. Sorry for not updating everyone! I received our NOA 2 on May 16th! So our processing time at Nebraska was roughly 3-4 weeks. Stay positive everyone! My days have been scrambling to put together the IV and AOS packages... Lazy of me I know, but thought I would start putting them together around the 3 month wait since everyone was saying the wait times were between 5-9 months. I hope all of you are as blessed as we are and that you have smooth sailing and fair seas!

    Congratulations! :)
