i've completed the choice of agent .. so i'm expecting a mail from nvc of ds261 ?

Once it's in PAID status, you can already send your AOS package to NVC.

It would totally help you if you read Saylin's wiki:

They will not send you an email about ds-261. Once completed, don't touch it anymore. Typically, NVC will review and add your ds-261 to your file after 30 business days.

Remember, NVC rarely sends emails about case updates, so you have to call them for future inquiries.

AOS is all about the petitioner.

IV is about us, the beneficiaries. This is where we include marriage and birth certs,NBI etc.

HELP! I saw some people posted that we should put case number on upper right of every page of documents we're sending NVC.

1. I am wondering if it's okay to put NVC case number using 'sticker labels' on original NSO birth and marriage certificate, and NBI Clearance? Any suggestions?

2. BTW, are NSO-issued birth and marriage certificates called ORIGINAL or just certified copies? I am not sure what to put on our cover letter. Hehe.

Did you request expedite at NVC? That's quick We're still waiting for IV invoice...

I can't seem to get through NVC phone line. I was able to get through in the past weeks, and it usually takes me about 10 minutes before they put me on hold music. I am calling from the Philippines using Skype, and it appears that NVC phone number is "invalid"??? I am not sure if there's something wrong with Skype or NVC is just really super busy. I tried calling DOS, but they told me they can't answer case-specific questions. :'(

Couldnt get through NVC line today. I have always been able to contact them in the past.

IMO, rather do it yourself. Like what others say, some lawyers seem to cause more delay in the process... VisaJourney and other reliable websites have great information to help you throughout the process.

If not, tell your lawyer you need to review the forms and docs before they send it. Goodluck!

Your AOS is being invoiced. That's what we saw before being able to pay the fee.

Try a different web browser. Mozilla works fine for me.

How have you all been? Apologies I've been away for so long, my wife visited for a month, and I've begun the process of packing away all my posessions and selling what I don't need. I'm moving away in September to my mother's house to wait out the rest of the visa process.

Unfortunately, we're still stuck awaiting our NOA2 - has anyone else progressed any further since we last spoke?

@NKrishMT - Just got a notice from NVC. I was so excited I went ahead and printed out a copy incase I accidentally deleted the email. But then I read the email. "Dear Sir/Madam, we recieved your documents on July 15th, due to increase in visa cases your time table with be at least 60 days before we look at your documents."

So for those who are waiting at service center wanting to get to NVC, it seems the waiting is just as bad.

Hi, thanks for the update! Our AOS is now in PAID status, but my husband is still waiting for his employment letter which we will include in the package. Hope he gets it soon. Yes, I read several posts about the "60-day" wait once they receive your package. So yeah, the waiting is just as bad. I hope processes get a little speedier soon.

When my husband sent our i-130, we included a COPY of HIS passport. He is my petitioner.

We are now at NVC stage, I'll be sending a scanned copy of my ppassport's bio-data page to him next week.

I don't think the beneficiary's copy of passport is needed in the USCIS stage. It should be included in the Immigrant Visa (IV) packet at NVC stage.

Welcome! Tax transcripts downloaded from the IRS website will be fine for the NVC! It's a brilliant idea to put your case # on each document you send to the NVC... Just in case it decides to grow legs and wander off.. Make sure not to leave the place of residence address blank if it's the same as the mailing address.. I've seen a lot of people who used the I-864EZ receive a checklist because they didn't write N/A in the box.

We printed sticker labels containing case# and put them on the upper right corner of each page of supporting docs.

Submit valid NBI police clearance. I read that you also need to submit police certificate from each country where an immigrant applicant has lived for more than 6 months.

I already filled-out DS-261 today. They said we have to wait 3-5 business days for AOS bill to be invoiced.

Hello guys, thanks in advance for your help. We were assigned case number and IIN last week.

My questions are:

1. Should we fill-out DS-261 now? We haven't received instructions from NVC thru email yet.

2. My printer at home is crappy, can I save the DS-261 confirmation page to my laptop and print it later?

As for AOS bill,it's saying it's in the process of termination, so I guess they are invoicing it.
