As long as you fulfill the Marriage within 90 days upon arrival, you are fine. No deadline for AOS but imagine you can't apply for DL, you cant work, you cant travel outside US.

I can sympathize with you. My husband and I spent almost 2 years apart because of DOMA, but it's been easy to put that behind us from living in New York where both the federal and state governments legally recognize our relationship. I'm so sorry/angry that this stuff continues to this day. The lengths you have to go to in order to deal with the everyday ramifications your situation is criminal (well, it should be).

Who told you? EAD from USCIS is the only document/card serves as a temporary work permit for like 1-2 years while the Conditional Green Card is on the process.

Nope. Only USCIS has the authority to issue a work permit when you apply for AOS-EAD when marriage occurs within 90 days.

You are fine, but file your AOS + AP + EAD as soon as possible so you could be able to work legally and travel outside US. Remember that your legibility for citizenship starts 3 years after you have the green card, so the earlier the better.
