  1. Okay the link that I am looking at...has the new form in the draft form. If you notice it has a revised date of May 23, 2006 and an expiration date of June 30, 2006. I have no idea what this means, but wanted to point it out. Also the link that Steve posted...actually is a link to OFFICE OF INFORMATION AND REGULATORY AFFAIRS

    INVENTORY OF APPROVED INFORMATION COLLECTIONS

    JUNE 02, 2006

Does this mean it's already approved? Just some things to think about.

  2. Bel that is what the entire law is about. Imbra is set up to protect the beneficiary from the United States citizen (petitioner). They are requiring a criminal history ie. background check on the petitioner which will become available to the beneficiary so that they are made aware of any potential of the petitioner to harm them. It discloses whether they have a criminal history involving abuses and such. This information is passed along to the beneficiary so they can decide on whether to go ahead with their engagement and subsequent move to the United States. It's to protect the foreign beneficiary.

At least this is what I have gained from reading all of this. I could be wrong.

  3. "threadjack" Can someone tell me how you go about finding out if your car can come to the US? My fiancee is wanting to bring his car (old Dodge Dynasty) to the states. Who do we call or is there some website we can go and look to see if the car is compliant?

  4. From going and reading your timeline it appears you are stuck in the IMBRA ####### that is going on. Any petitions with a NOA1 receipt after March 6, 2006 has been put on hold and hasn't left to NVC. You will not be receiving packet 3 information until your petition makes it to the Argentinian consulate and that is yet to be determined as they have no clue what they are doing with the petitions yet. Sorry to be the balloon popper here.

  6. Well the official date on the NOA1 from the CSC was March 14. I didn't get it in the mail until March 18th. The case was touched on March 20th with no other contact since. I saw a few NOA2s received yesterday that were from March 6th and 8th. So do you think this week or next, I'll either hear something about approval or an RFE? Dan has been gone too long already. I am feeling the need to be touched. ;)
