I'm assembling the IV packet now, and I read that you have to include original or certified copies of the birth certificate and marriage certificate.

We only have 1 certified copy of my spouses birth certificate. If we send them to the NVC, will we get them back? Because we need them for the interview, right?

I will not send original. My personal experience says it is so much problem to get it back ( in my case I never got original back )

Long story short I will make all paper notarized or affidavit and send them that.

They will ask for original at interview time if they need it.

our interview is coming up and i need to get a letter from my employer to give to my fiance to take to the interview. my question is, what should the letter say? please help!

also, if i am going to attend the interview with my fiance, do i still have to write a letter of intent to marry him>?

I got COA in early may and my PD is mid April.

I have a joint sponsor already which is my sister in law and her income alone is sufficient. At this moment I don't think it's about income qualification but more about the tax return. What is an acceptable proof that I did not file and not required to file due to low income?

Regardless of what you make you have to file tax return. like other says file it asap. You do not have enough income so IRS is not bother much anyway.

if petitioner has no work then also he/she has to fill out i864 and joint sponsor as well.

yes march-09 is far away, it is 2004 running. Just be patient.

I think the above articles were just mentioning employment categories and hence focusing on them.

The rule for counting greencards should be the same for Employment & Family category.

In my opinion if he makes a decision/ executive order that derivatives of beneficiary's greencards will not be counted towards calculating the limit, then this rule be applicable for both employment & family categories as it applies today. incase he does it only for employment categories, this makes a very compelling case in favour of family based immigration and can easily be won again the government in the supreme court.

I think its a golden opportunity for him to do something for immigration system overall. By merely changing the rule for counting one greencard for one petition will do alot, in my humble opinion it can reduce the backlog by than 60%-70% worst case.

Just got an email from NVC requesting for 2013 tax information. What type of letter, form or document do I need to provide in order to satisfy NVC? Obviously I don't have any transcript for 2013 since I did not file. I did submit a signed letter explaning why I did not file in 2013 (as mentioned about) with the orignal I-864 but they are still coming back with the question.

That's what my doubt is..the checklist states that pcc is required from passport office but some people also issue another pcc from police station. What exactly are we supposed to submit?

after three days of that email I got email saying case is complete and we don't need anything.

I called NVC and they said yes case is complete and we don't need anything.

But we already started process of getting ppc from India. Now I have that certificate in hand.

how can it be two seperate case number if you file one I130.

if both is under one I130 then yes you pay only one time $88.

on i864 you put your dad name on part-2

Part-3 you click YES on section 1. Then on section 2 you select that check box and wirte your mom name as "family Member 1"

CAll NVC and talk untill you get your case updated, give them your email address and proper phone number.

Make sure you keep all record with same name and matches on all record (for your brother and his wife)

make sure they are all in english.
