  1. VJers, at your interview, did any of you open your phones to show the IO your FB profiles as proof of bonafide marriage? I know some people printed FB chat/message logs out, but did any of you actually show the IO your FB status, photos, etc.? I'm prepping and wondering if this is something we should do at our interview next Tuesday.....

    Yes.

But instead a printed a screenshot of the laptop screen showing Facebook profile pages of both (married) and Instagram pages

  2. Wow! Good thing you have full of confidence! When was your first interview? What happened then? Did they ask for more documents?

For my first interview I only had a Bank account and she also asked if we had sex and we said NO because of religious reasons.

We also dont stay together yet..

In the 2nd interview, she asked again if we had sex, i said no due to religious reasons.

    Additional documents I had:

Lease: She said doesnt matter, she said, 'I can put anyone in the lease, it doesnt matter anymore today'

Phone bill: She said doesnt matter, she said, 'I can put anyone in the lease, it doesnt matter anymore today'

    Health insurance: Pretty good proof

I added my wife to my credit card: Good proof

I printed out both our credit scores: Showed commingle of finance, good proof

I had 8 affidavits: from parents, friends, and cousins (Best proof of all)

I bought some stuff from amazon delivered to her house, good proof apprently

I had many photos of the engagement, court marriage, and other randoms days. Remember photos of you and her dont matter. The important photos are the ones that are of you, her, and everyone else.

Important point: Our case was very unique and rare. Majority, and probably yours too is just normal.

    So dont worry about it

SPEAK THE TRUTH AND DO NOTTTTT GET ANGRY!!!!

They will try to BOG you down. I have been BOGGED down enough in my life to handle this.. lol

  3. I think i was the only 1 on this forum with 2 interviews.

It was really intense!!! (FEB FILERS)

The 1st interview we did together and lasted for 30 min

The 2nd interview i did alone for 2 hrs and wife did for 5 min.

I had to flip situations around because the interviewer was very well experience and know how to do her job very well.

At beginning she said, "I know you got married for the 'Greencard'. I just, 'Laugheddd loudly, and said, here we go, USCIS at its best'... loll - Guess what, she started laughing too.

Same situation all the way, i never got angry even for a second.

    I always complemented her job.

In fact, I even said "you should get a mac, they are much faster, tell the govt"... She had strawberrys next to her "I asked her to have some and not beat me down".. etc

These guys are looking at the confidence levels! - The MORAL OF THE STORY is THE TRUTH!!! - You can only be confident when you are true.

But my truth was a little sketchy, but the truth

  6. Well this was my experience yesterday 16 of June

My app was @ 10:15 AM We got there @ 09:55 AM, It was not full of people but the interviews was taking longer than that expected some people came out happy other with out emotions @ 11:40 AM there was like 4 couples in the waiting room, and someone came out and ask who was there for interview I raised my hand and the other couples too, they took my app letter and then she said let me see what's going on, and went inside after 2 minutes they start calling people they call me at 11:50 AM we follow the IO to her office, before we sat she make us swore, asked for our Id's and then she start to look all the paper work I sent all the apps I485 I130 I 765 affidavit, and start asking questions to me (I am the beneficiary)

    My Father's name

    My mother's name

    my Address

    Where Do i Work

and then the Yes and Not Questions

And then she start bombarding my wife (petitioner) with all type of QUESTIONS you guys CAN THINK OF, she ask for specific dates, time, names, places, she want my wife to be specific in the timeline of our relationship, We got married in 2013 and I just file the apps on 2014 we date for 8 months and we met back in 2000

Then she asked me for the marriage certificate

Then she went back to my wife and keep asking questions about our relationship

Then she asked for our evidence of our relationship, we brought like 40 pictures and the Ipad full of pics, she took the album with the pics and look ONE BY ONE spend maybe 5 to 6 mins looking at all the pics, I gave her utilities bills under our name, we have at company together, and more bills

she looked at me and said, this is all?? I said yes, she looked everything one by one, and after almost 25 to 30 mins maybe, she said that they will take 30 days to make a decision on my case and I will received an answer in those 30 days

    ANY COMMENTS????? PLEASE DO

Personally i think, when u she said 'this is all?'

that is call for second interview, something similar in my case.

all i had was a Joint bank account, 40 pics, and 5 affidavits

  7. Hello VJ folks. My wife and I attended our AOS interview today at the Detroit USICS Office and we were not approved. We provided the officer the following evidences to the interview; our wedding album, an additional album with random photos before and after the wedding, a letter from the bank stating when we opened our bank account together and information about our debit cards, a notarized sworn affidavit from my mother-in-law stating how she met me and confirming that our marriage is legit, and 4 copies of our personal correspondence. She asked us about our bank statements but we opened our bank account 5 days before the interview and we have not received any bank statement yet. She checked the pictures really quick and then asked the both of us the basic questions like how you met? we met online on a Yahoo chat room 2 years ago, how you became a couple? we gave a brief explanation, when you first met in person? on august 6th 2011, Where did you stay after your arrival to the united states? at my wife's place, etc. Then we went through the standard questions of form I-485 which all answers were no and finally she said that we cant get aprroved today because she's got to make some background checks in order to approve our application and that they will inform us via mail about the final decision or whether they need something else from us. However, at the end of the interview she was explaining to me how to remove my conditions before my 2 year green card expires and then we both signed a paper about the conditional green card. The interview lasted about 20 to 30 minutes. We are confused and worried because the officer returned my passport and I-94 with no stamp or highlights at all. Does this mean we would probably have a stokes interview? Or would they ask for further evidence? We would really appreciate your help and advice guys. Thanks in advance.

    Quick question..

Is the bank statement all u have for the interview?

    Look at my timeline.

  8. Our interview is in 24 hours!!!! I'm both excited and terrified. I think I have everything all set:

    - photocopy of entire packet

    - all uscis correspondence

    - originals and copies of both my and my husbands IDs (passports, drivers licenses, SSN cards, birth certificates)

    - 6 months of paystubs for sponsor

    - 3 years of tax transcripts for sponsor

    - 3 months of joint bank account statements plus letter from bank confirming our account is indeed joint

    - certified copy of our marriage certificate

    - proof of my husbands previous divorce

    - wedding invite, photos, cards

    - affidavits from family and friends (5)

    - proof of trips we took together in the last 3 years including a handful of photos

    - early emails we sent each other when we first met

    - proof of joint health insurance, cell phone plan, car insurance

    - proof I'm his beneficiary for life insurance

    - cards we have sent each other

    Is that enough?!

What about the lease for u 2 are staying?

  9. Get an infopass for the portland office and go ask them..

    Hi all,

I'm really worried!!! I filed on December 30 (my priority date) and the status for I-485 is still stuck in "Testing and Interview" since Feb 05, no more update since then and no interview letter yet :(( My local office is Portland, OR and I don't think it's a very busy office. What should I do??? Btw, I adjust from F-1.

Also, how do you know if your case is transferred to local office? All of my case statuses do not mention anything about transfer.

    Thanks.
