  1. Alright, already posted this in NVC July thread... but I'm thinking that all you experienced folks B-) may have some insight...

For those of you that requested an expedite... did you receive an email confirming they had received your request? I fear that I may have actually included all of the information they need to process my request (), so they won't contact me for additional information.... but then I don't really know for sure if they actually received my email. Can phone operators see that you've sent a request to expedite? I really don't feel like calling them this week when I'm pretty sure it will be useless.....

  3. Case complete!!!!!

We received a checklist in error on June 13th, and they finally removed it!(Business day 31). Don't lose hope for those who are still waiting, it's hard but you can all make it through!! Going to celebrate this weekend! This bloody journey is almost over!!

YAY! I came on here just for this.... I just had a feeling that today was going to be your day! How exciting! Just in time for interview scheduling!!! :dancing:

  4. Hi Islandbabes, how do you do to file an embassy expedite ? I have been in the system for 16 months now and the NVC just told me my case is complete. I am now waiting for my case to be at the embassy of France and have my interview scheduled. The thing is that I NEED to be in the states by the end of august as my american husband is coming home on his leave from afghanistan. Would this play in my favor ?

Since you're so close to the end, your options are kind of limited. At this point, I believe all you can do is wait for your case to reach the embassy and then you can either call or email the embassy, tell them about your situation, and request the soonest available interview date. If they don't have any dates available right now, keep trying. Someone may cancel their interview and open up a spot at any time. Many people recently were successful in rescheduling their interview date that way. Good luck!

  5. Many people reported activity on their cases this week, which to me proves that NVC is not affected by the crashed system. Ketsuban is right, it's the backlog, not the computer crash, that is causing everything to come to a screeching halt.

The IV bill and your AOS checklist have nothing to do with one another. You will get your IV bill before your checklist is reviewed (hopefully...)

  6. Hello.

We sent the AOS package in four weeks ago and still have not received any response. I have sent email inquiring about the status and am considering sending it again.

On our Immigrant Visa site we can't even click the "IV APPLICATION" and our IV application fee is reading as 0.00.

There is also no way to get the DS-260 information (though we filled in the DS-261 information ages ago.

We are now 10 months into the process of applying for the spousal visa, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

There is no need to send the AOS package again. It is currently taking 30 business days (some even longer...) to review the AOS package, and the only way to find out for sure if it has been reviewed and accepted is to call NVC. You will be waiting a long time for an email response about it.

The IV fee invoice will become available after your DS-261 has been reviewed and accepted. This is currently taking anywhere from 25-35+ business days after submitting your DS-261. If you clicked on the DS-261 after originally submitting it, you may have restarted your waiting period. The only way to know for sure which date you should be using to count your business days is to call NVC and ask on which date your DS-261 was received.

Hope the info helps, hang in there.

  7. Question about the i-864 form:

Part 4 question 11: Its asking if my wife is a US citizen/perm resident. She is a naturalized citizen so I checked a "US Citizen". There is a section to enter the Alien number (It seems like its under the permanent resident option). My wife does have a Alien registration number (Since she is a naturalized citizen i guess), would we put that number in there? or leave it blank since she's a US citizen

Also, i looked at the sample i864 form on this site and I did not see where "NA" would be put. I am guessing where they ask if the form is to sponsor a family member (the answer is no) and where they say "Family number 1, 2, 3, etc" thats where I should put NA?

    thanks

First part, I would leave it blank. If you're checking box 11.a. most people that answer that won't have an A number, just put her SSN in box 10 and you should be fine.

I filled out the regular I-864 and did not write N/A on anything, I left blanks all over the place, and we did not receive a checklist. The NA/Blank fiasco has to do with form I-864EZ for the question about residence/mailing address.

I paid AOS fee and sent AOS package. But I'm still waiting for IV fee. That's why I did not want to send IV package. But I heard different stories where people would send everything together.

I think the only person on this thread that sent the IV package using the AOS barcode sheet is LRKO and she is away for 3 weeks so we won't know for a while if that went smoothly for them or not. I believe LoveMyTico had a lawyer, therefore, she paid the AOS and IV fee at the same time, had both barcode sheets at the same time, and sent the packages at the same time. A number of us on here, including Saylin, have agreed that it would be risky to send the IV package with the AOS barcode sheet. It just leaves more opportunity for them to lose your paperwork and could cause further delays.

  8. Breaking News: NVC gave checklist to my Friend for writing N/A in I-864 form.. She called and they said her to leave blank space as mentioned in Instructions.

They are making All Loved one Frustrated now.

I hope others don't get this kind checklists.

omg that is just too much. I think that everyone on here that got a checklist for leaving the address part blank should send your friend a copy of their checklist and then your friend should take it all to their senator/congressperson. That's absolutely ridiculous.

  9. Did you check regarding your CC becz I saw they are working on 20 june???????????????????????

Do you know what an outlier is?

You have to read a little bit more into this stuff. Just because one person gets a case complete and they have a scanned date way past everyone else's in their signature does not mean that is the scan date that the NVC is working on. You have to read more posts in here, when you see a trend, that's how you can tell what date they are working on.

I just don't want you or anyone else to get their hopes up or start getting really frustrated that NVC skipped 15 days worth of scan dates.

  10. Hello!

Im filling out my I-864 this weekend and I think im done just had a few last questions to make sure im doing it correctly.

    - I am proving support with assets as i do not meet the income requirement working abroad. My husband/indenting immigrant will also contribute his assets so we are well above the required amount. In the instructions it says, "page 7 of 13 part 7 6.-8 The form I-864a is not required to document the indenting immigrant's assets." When I called and spoke with NVC I was told to fill out the I-864 and to have my husband fill out the I-864a(he was a bit short with me so I didnt question him). Does anyone know if they require the I-864a even though it says its not required? I know the NVC is tricky sometimes so I just wanted to check with the world of the experienced here :star:

For Part 4 question 5 Country of Domicile - Not sure if I can put both Chile/USA, I reside in Chile but will provide documents of my US mailing address and how I have maintained life in the US with the cover letter suggested in the wikki. (i do not own property in US) Any advice of what to put?

Part 6 Sponsor income and employment - Im employed abroad so I put it, but I want to make sure they are not asking just for USA employment.

    Thanks!!!! :)

For the first part, I don't think you need to send in I-864a with your husband's assets. Just fill in Part 7. numbers 6-8 "Assets of the principal sponsored immigrant" and include documentation. If you were to complete the I-864a for him, you would have to include those figures on 5.a. and 5.b., thus adding those figures twice, so that can't be right.

Domicile: I don't have personal experience with this, but from what I have gathered from the I-864 instructions, I do not think you can put 2 countries as domicile. I would re-read the I-864 instructions pages 3-4 and then hope that someone here with more experience comes along to answer that.

I'm not going to touch Part 6. because I have no idea, and it's too important for me to just take a whack at it!!

  11. i have a queation plz!!!

i m from Afghanistan and my interview will be at islamabad embassy pakistan.

i have a passport which is not computerized.. so now the government started the computerized passports. so my case is about to complete in two weeks.. if i change my passport to the new computerized passport.. does it affect my case or should i inform the NVC or islamabad embassy when they get the case? plz

I would get the new passport asap and bring both to the interview. Don't tell NVC anything unless it is your intent to let the process drag (you gave me that impression on more than one occasion). Their role is artificial and a total waste of time. It might be a good idea to email a copy of the new passport to the embassy after they receive your case. Just be sure to mention your case # in that email.

I second what MoBar said. Get the new passport. Don't bother with NVC, they likely don't care at this point. Email the embassy when they receive your case, bring both passports to the interview. You're getting closer shinwary, hang in there!

  12. Man, I wish I could help everybody with the tough AOS questions today. Ours was so straightforward, we didn't have any of these children or foreign income issues. I'll try to do some research to see if I can help some of you. I've seen a lot of people these days creating their own threads for their very specific questions and receiving some quality answers. If you haven't already, you could try that.... put as much detail as possible, who is the petitioner, who is the beneficiary, countries that everybody lives in, etc.

Hello boys and girls, I come here to say thank you to all of you specially Saylin, for all the help and support.

My interview was on the 17th of July (here is the review http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=14870 ) at Paris - I GOT APPROVED!

And on the 18th CEAC showed the Visa as Issued.

I waited 458 days and it was worth it, long tedious but now it is done!

    THANK YOU!

    Wooohoooo congrats! Enjoy! (L)

  13. I will only say this once, if you don't like what your reading then stop reading it. Don't come and tell us what we can and can not post. There are a lot of things I don't like but it's not my business and people have the right to express how they feel when they feel it. End of comment!

I almost posted a response extremely similar to this. We already get told every day by NVC and our bosses and whoever else what we can and can't do..... this is a public forum and we're not saying anything offensive. If you want to learn, then ask a question, and somebody will answer it for you. If you don't like what you're reading, go do something else.

But haters gonna hate you know. Keep being you Soloenta, you keep it fun in here. :energy:

  14. Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the NVC stage, I'm a Dec2013 filer my husband is the USC and Im the aussie applicant i have paid the AOS bill and currently gathering all our evidence to send it. I tried to pay the IV fee as well but it wont let me (I think from what ive read you have to wait til after they put in the DS-261- choice of agent info- is that correct?)

Also i have one more question as I tried asking NVC when i rang to change our address but the lady wasnt helpful at all, My husband is a permanent resident in Australia and has lived here for 6 years so I know we need a joint sponsor who will be me husbands brother but my question is do we send my husbands AOS first and wait for them to say we need a joint sponsor (which we already know) or are we able to send it all together?

thanks for any help guys :)

The part in bold - yes, that is correct. It's currently taking about 25-35 business days between NVC receiving your DS-261 and receiving the IV fee invoice.

The second part, you should send your husband's I-864 and your joint sponsor's I-864 all together in one package. Since the number of pages starts to add up in these situations, I think it's a pretty good idea to attach a cover letter outlining the contents of the package. So it would be bar-coded cover letter first, then your cover letter, then the rest of the contents.

    Hope that helps!

  15. Thank you sweet heart :) but this one is at the very end before you send the DS-260 where it states E-Signature. So I'm guessing it's my husbands but not sure. So your saying at this point since the form is for beneficiary it's my husbands they need again? My confusion is that I'll be sending for my husband so do they want my passport number or his? I confuse easily. :D

Hang tight, I'm going to finish ours right now and I'll let you know. I'm pretty sure though that since the form is for the beneficiary it's going to be your husband's again.

  16. Ok I did it I DID IT!!!!! I just clicked "SEND" on the email to NVCElectronic@state.gov. This was for my I-864 package, electronic processing. There is no more proofreading, no more double checking, no more overanalyzing anything anymore, it is all now in the hands of the NVC. :clock:

For the last week, I've been second guessing myself over every little detail, no doubt I'll be completely grey before we ever make it to the USA LOL!!!:rofl:

I hear you about being completely grey before you guys get here.... recently my hair has started falling out by the handfuls. From past experiences with this, I know that is a sign that I am waayy too stressed out, need to take a step back and a deep breath. I bought a treadmill after feeling inspired by the runners a few pages back.... now I just have to actually use it lol. Hopefully it will help.

    Hi Everyone,

Just a little vent because, well, just because this is so frustrating.

    ....

We applied in November thinking this process would take less then a year but it is not looking likely. I asked the last NVC guy when we would likely get an interview if we are approved and he said probably November. This is putting our lives on hold!

Is there anything else I can do to get this moving? I have called NVC about 4 times to check on things, but I don't think that is helping at all.

You came to the right place to vent!! We feel your pain. Hopefully good news to come soon for everyone, hang in there. (F)

    Hello All,

It has been 3 months since I got my case number and still no IV invoice, I am really tired of this process. me and my wife can not take it anymore, I am leaving oversease tomorrow to stay with my wife and daughter untill the NVC start working on our case. 14months + since we started this process and still do not know when it is going to end, I quit my job and put my education on hold till who knows when. I am really frustrated right now, but what can we do!!! goodluck everyone and i will try to keep you updated if anything happen (internet slow oversease),,thanks

My heart aches for you Lottry. Stay strong and enjoy your time with your loved ones. There will be an end to the process at some point, there has to be. (F)

  17. Hmmm I received a physical piece of mail from NVC dated July 10th, stating that they have updated the address or email address associated with our case. However, no changes whatsoever have been made (well, not that I am aware of anyways). I am sure this is just another mysterious non-sensical NVC correspondence.... but has anyone else received or heard of such a letter?

Saylin, on the DS-260 we don't know my husbands mothers date of birth do we just put "I don't know" ? Will they care?

Same here, for both mother and father. We're putting "I don't know." I can't see any reason why they would care.

  18. I was able to as well! I didn't think that would happen after business hours but I just got home from a movie and it was available! The AOS fee wasn't but the phrase after I logged in changed from "you have attempted..." to "this case is in the process of termination." Woohoo!!!

    Hope the fun continues!

 oh man, it's things like this that keep me laughing. Only in NVC land would "termination" be a fabulous thing, and a cause for celebration. You guys do realize that we must sound like a bunch of nut jobs to anyone who stumbles upon this forum and isn't intimately familiar with the process....

Congrats on the termination message, by the way. Moving right along! lol

  19. London Embassy re-scheduled our interview for August 6th!!!!! :dancing::dancing: :joy: :dancing:

yaaaaayyyyy so happy for you guys! keep fighting the good fight. :dancing:

Plz help.one week but still ds 261 not in system..is there any problem if i click on the completed button just to check is everything ok.plz help

DO NOT CLICK ON IT AGAIN. From the last time you clicked on it, you have to wait 30 business days to receive the IV fee invoice. If it says "Completed" on the website, they have received it and you do not have to do anything else.

My husbands case was approved last year in november of 2013. I want to know do I have to call NVC in November to get an extension for this case? because I will be sending them the I-186 forum by jan of next year 2015. Or do I just call NVC and let them know that I will be sending them all the docs for I-186 in JAN 2015?

You have to call and check in with NVC within a year of them receiving your case, or I believe you have to resubmit all the forms and fees and everything. I would call them sometime in the next month to two months to see what needs to be done next and just update them.
