Times change. I used to be at home by myself in the country when I was 10, but would never think of having my children stay at home at the age of 10 now. Another factor is the child. Two kids the same age can have two totally difference maturity levels.

Ok, seriously woman, try some other story because you sure are full of them! I just feel sorry for this guy you know? He just landed a great job and he doesn't want to have to go back to Egypt because his new marriage isn't working. Oh yes, I'll add too that she lied to him about many issues before his feet hit American soil.

Let me tell you about the situation I know. Of course my husband knows a few egyptians in our area. One in particular I wish I had a hide out for! His wife won't let him go anywhere by himself. I'm shocked he can even go to the bathroom alone! This is also the same woman that will go out for 5-8 hours at any hour of the day or night and when she's asked where she was her reply is "none of your business!" She claims never to have money, however she does have a well paying job. She steals money from her husband and won't even get him the daily necessities a person needs. My husband as well as others have gave this poor man money so he can just get what he needs. He wants out and wants out bad, but he doesn't want people to yell "greencard" like his wife already claims he's doing. I could go on and on about the stories! What's the poor guy to do? I've debated on having him stay with us, but I don't want the whack job knowing where he's at. Suggestion?

From being here a while and reading stories, we tend to hear about all the bad apples so to speak with MENA men. Now while I do agree there are many men that do use women for greencards, we don't hear many stories about all the "bad apple" women that treat their MENA spouses like #######. I've known a few here and just want to make a voice about it.

I'm so sorry for this. I know you're heart must be breaking. Sounds like he didn't think a lot of things through before making that big step to come here.

I'm happy a man came into office who knows what it's like to be struggle finanacially. That makes all the difference in the world, he would connect with people who are "poor" and understand their pain.

Its a shame people are talking about sharing the wealth! Usually these imbeciles are so selfish, and racist they don't know they will one day grow old. I worked in a nursing home for a while. I would see patients with children who didn't visit them, and one part of me felt sad, but one part of me didn't. That's the way they raised them. Change(money) aint nothing, you win some you lose some. However, when you are old and you are alone. Ha! Ha!Ha! this is sharing the wealth. My time is my wealth! My health is my wealth! So, I believe Obama will try to make the open-minded people to work harder to be involved with social programs. What good is wealth and millions when you can't walk by yourself. I heard the oldest people around me talking about "everything will be free" hahaha! what ignorance. Man I have compassion for anyone, but this not wanting to share the wealth is pure greed. A kind of greed that I know will one day bite you in the ###.

Tell me why the hell I should have to share my wealth with some deadbeat that don't work, refuses to work and wants to stay in the system. I worked damn hard to be where I'm at today and I believe you have the choice to make yourself what you are. I grew up with hardly a thing. My parents worked hard for what we had and taught me to be the best I can be. I don't get it. Do you both make at least $250,000 in ADJUSTED GROSS INCOME? Seriously if you don't you won't be sharing YOUR wealth. As a matter of fact, if you don't then you're not even considered wealthy.

My husband just passes his medical boards the first part of the year. I'm currently working part-time as an instructor at the college here. It's not an illusion that we could possbile be making $200,000 a year. Why, because we've worked very hard to be where we are today. I don't see anyone spreading the wealth to help us pay off our thousands in student loans though.

Not ALL single parent homes rely on the "system" nor are single moms or single dads on crack, etc. My aunt is a single mother because her husband died leaving her w/ three young children. Sometimes people need help...She owns her own busines now and the kids are doing great but without a little help when times hit bottom...she'd not be where she is today.

I was watching Al-Jazeera (arabic) and they seem to like him a lot. I found it funny to see they put up one of those big screens with the US map and they color coded the states like the US news agencies do, but theirs had arabic words on it. Ironic that a middle eastern news agency was reporting this election just as much as the American agencies were, lol.

I find it ironic that all the world was/is so much into the election. My husband had his friends calling him all night long! I finally told him to turn off his phone or to sleep in another room. I'll say it again, there is a reason arabs wanted Obama in the office and I think it goes way beyond what anyone can or will try to comprehend. F.Y.I my husband said it wasn't good that Obama was elected. An arab man of color that isn't jumping up and down. Makes me wonder that's all.
