  1. I tried to make rice about a week ago like they make it here in Egypt. I don't know what I did, I put a little oil and butter in the pan like I watched his cousin do, and a little bit of rice and before I knew it it looks like little popcorn kernals in the pan and tasted like it too! :crying: Amr got a kick outta it, but I was almost in tears. Poor man is gonna live off boxed food when we get back to the states.

  2. Yes, you read right. If you have read a few of my posts, my fiance was interviewed back on December 29th. They sent the case to Washington for AR and we heard nothing. In the meantime I thought "screw this" and I moved to Egypt with my fiance till this is over. I finally emailed the embassy and they then told me that the egyptian government had documentation that my fiance was dead! His brother had passed a few years ago and for some reason they documented my husbands death! We have been trying for a few weeks to get this changed. One would think this is an easy thing to correct right???? Bring him in to the office,YES, he is breathing and alive, and change the documents. Well hell no, Egypt cannot be that simple.

Finally this morning we received and email saying the received the required documents proving my fiance is alive. LOL  Now the case is going BACK to Washington. Come on people!!!! I have come up with many new choice words for this AR #######, ones which I'm sure I cannot post here! At least I am laughing about it now. I really don't know what I would be doing if I was not with my fiance now. This has truly been the hardest thing I have ever done in my life and believe me, my life has not been an easy one.

For everything that has been on AR a long time, or away from their loves for a long time, I feel for you. I have been there. Really no one understand how a person feels when it has been a year or longer since you have been with your love. (I was away from AMR for a year. :( ) I know everyone means well when they say things will be ok, etc, etc. Seriously, just offer a "hug" or "I'm thinking of you." I think the worse thing I have seen on VJ is when someone tells me things will be ok and they have only been away from there love 4-6 months total and the process is done. Maybe I should just shut up and keep my mouth closed, but as a counsler, we have always been told don't talk the talk unless you have walked the walked. You gals that have/are walking with me, say whatever you want to me!

  3. Oh we are on AR. Look at some of my posts. The embassy here in Cairo has my fiance as being dead! I could've stood to lose a few pounds, but now my fiance says I look sick. :( I just don't have the appetite anymore.

  4. i think you ladies are minimizing the effects of a GREAT bj .... you can get your man to do almost anything!!

I'm all for giving my own hubby a BJ... however I don't advocate young teenage girls giving a ####### because their dates are pressuring sex.

I totally agree. Hope she doesn't talk to my niece!!!

hey, while we are talking about BJ's WHY does only the guy get the enjoyment? I'm all about equal rights.

  5. Sorry you are going through this. Beleive me, I know how you feel. I left my home in December to move to Egypt with my fiance till the process is over. It has been 14 months since we filed the K-1. Very depressing we you see others getting approved and you don't. We had more luck with my fiance emailing the embassy. We never had luck with the call center, just took our money. They seem to be responding quickly to the emails. Not what we want to hear, but they are responding.

Right now the embassy basically has my husband as being dead on the public records. YES, you read right. My fiance had a brother that died a few years ago and somehow, put him as being dead instead of his brother. Go figure! We were told that this is easily corrected, however it has just added more time to the process.

Keep on top of the embassy and get some answers. I will be thinking of you.

  6. I finally got my laptop fixed so I should be able to keep everyone up to date a little better. Still no news here. Interview was the end of December, went thru AR, no news, called many times, then was informed that Amr somehow was considered dead because he had a death record! I did check his pulse and he is quite alive! :P We are just waiting, waiting, and waiting some more. Sucks big ones!

I too cannot get a straight answer from anyone at the embassy. I am more at ease and this is not such a big issue to me at the present time since I am staying with him in Egypt till his visa approval. In 1 week I received 5 different emails from the embassy all saying something different. Sound familier to you?

Amy, I really miss you! Amr and Khallid talk all the time and I have seen him a few times. (sorry hun) I swear every time I see him he is "Amy, Amy, Amy" He really loves you girl! He said he was leaving Cairo till he receives the visa? PM me and tell me the details.

Sorry to hear that you are having the panic attacks. I know how you feel, I was having them too before I came to stay here for a while. I'm not going to tell you what everyone else has told you. You already know. I do know how you feel, and I am here for you if you need anything. :luv:

  7. Once again, sorry I do not post on here often. Amr is still in AR. I finally got to a live person a couple days ago at the embassy and it seems the problem is, are you ready for this? Egypt has documentation of Amr being dead! Last time I checked he has a pulse! We think what happened is that his brother died 2 years ago and somehow the records were messed up. So now who knows how long of a wait we will have. I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry, but with the slow internet I do not have time to read through all the posts. :(

  8. So sorry I have not been online at all for a while. My laptop overheated and has been on the fritz for a while now and I use the net cafes mainly for checking my email, etc. Thought I would catch everyone up for a change today. Amr had his interview Dec 19th. The lady told him he would have his visa in 2 weeks, then it was 6 weeks and now we are going on 8 weeks. I am hoping we hear something soon. Life in Egypt is great, so simple. Really we have talked about me teaching here instead of us going back, but no decisions have been made as of yet.

Amr and I had the change to meet Amy and her fiance a few days ago. It was nice to see another american face! :D We ended up leaving the boys for a while and going to a few shops and gettings some groceries and things. We laughed because men would walk by us and say "white sugar."

When I have more time I will read up on everyones situations. I hope everyone is doing well!
