  1. oh i just checked the online case status and it still says READY but the update date changed!! it was 27th oct and it is 29th oct now!!!

so it is true that some CO actually checks the case before the interview!!! OMG im so excited i wish i could know the CO impression about the case and what he/she decided!!!

anyway, it might be the secretary the one who checks the case to make sure everything is there and no missing stuff..

    any similar issues guys??

  2. They review your documents before your interview and already decide about your case. The interview is a mere formality. The CO is prepared for the interview. Even we should go over all that is sent to answer correctly. A straightforward case doesn't require that many questions, some "complicated" cases require further probing by the CO.

ah i see, i actually was thinking.. so when applicants go to the interview first they go through a secretary who checks if all the documents are there and no missing stuff and also in my case i will hand the medical envelop and the marriage book. and then she forwards the whole folder to the CO to interview the applicant?? does this make sense??

or according to another cinareo: the CO reviews the documents beforehand and then at the day of interview, that CO who reviewed the case before, does the interview??

hmm , we asked our lawyer about this she said she is nt sure both cases are possible.. :)

she keeps telling me my case is fine and all i need to be calm and be polite with the interviewer :)

  3. Look at that you have your flag up. Pass the time. Start packing and giving away stuff. Google where you going to live polish up your resume. Check the market you should already have a list of networking folk you can hit up soon as you land. Where is the SS office and drivers license place.

The food markets in your city or town where are they so you can still get your favorite foods. Ohhhhh there is so much you can do.

Then there's always here on this thread chatter. :goofy:

haha yea i finally figured out how to update the profile :D haha

i give u the credits for that! :)

well, my love is so gonna pick me up from SFO Airport, and gonna stay with her in the flat (that she is sharing witha flatmate at stanford campus) and after i get there, we will apply for couples housing!

she already planned where we're gonna be travelling in cali during the christmass vacation! but i'm so worried if i get A.P then i won't make it.. :cry2::(

I HOPE I DONT GET AP (the nightmare)

i mean everycase eventually go through ap before getting issued but that is different its only for few hours or maybe days but not months..

anyway, i'll see how the interview goes

  4. No, but in the uk, the medical centre couriers the medical results directly. I guess our embassy doesn't trust us because Canadians and possibly Australians get to take theirs with them :P Oh well, less for me to carry. What country are you applying from?

ahh i see.. well i'm Syrian and i have been in Turkey since 2008 (studying at uni in ANKARA ) and i'm having the interview on November 18th here in Ankara

i think i dont have a chance to get approved rightaway :( i'm definitly going through A.P.. i just hope it doesnt take more than 3 or 4 weeks..

  5. Well, Knightsbridge didn't call me today so my medical results are all fine and will be couriered to the embassy tomorrow :D

i'm confused.. after getting the medical results (the envelop and the CD and vaccenation record paper) we have to mail them to the embassy???

the secretary told me you should have the envelop with you when u go to the interview!

are you applying for different type of visa? mine is CR1 btw.

  6. Wife went to interview this morning in Ankara, Turkey.

They didn't ask anything from her. Just couple questions in regards to where I live and what I do. Thats it.

It was quick and she was approved!

Finally this is all over, im buying the plane ticket as soon as passport is delivered

    oh congrats! thats awesome news!

my interview will be in ankara too on nov 18th

i hope i wont be put on A.P

    cheers!

  7. Extended AP seems to hit Middle Eastern men a lot and some Middle Eastern women. I remember one guy from the UK went into AP because his surname was the same as the capital of Yemen.

The US doesn't take terrorism lightly so it unfortunately profiles people with Muslim-sounding names and puts them into extended AP while security checks are carried out.

Other reasons I've seen are someone has the same name as a notorious criminal. I share a surname with a serial killer in the UK unfortunately so hopefully I won't be AP'd!

    ohh i hope we both don't get A.P !!

well i'm Syrian but my name isn't arabic because i'm kurd, idk i hope the war in Syria doesn't affect on Syrian applicants for visa interviews ..

i hope i wont be put on a.p .."sigh" can't wait more and be far from my wife..

thank u so much for replying and best of luck for everybody :)

    cheers!
