I assume your company has an immigration lawyer? Have you asked them as most visa go through the employers lawyer

Is your J1 subject to the 2 year home country physical prescence requirement? If it is, you cant change or adjust status unless you get a waiver first.

You really have no options - even H-1B would not work since those will be given out starting October 1 with applications being submitted April 1st. You will need valid status through Oct 1st, and you should have your application already done by company lawyer to submit it April 1st - H-1B typically run out in 2-3 days (at least were last two years).
