Mail just arrived - green card in hand! Woo hoo! So wonderful to have this behind us... Many thanks to all of you for your advice, I'm sure we'd still be waiting without it. We'll be celebrating tonight for sure. Best wishes to all of you and enjoy the next two years before it's time to renew!

    Great news
Wait for couple of days, the card should be there, as they use 2 days shipping.
Check online if they updated the USPS tracking # (which I doubt). If you don't receive it by 5th, call up USCIS & directly talk with the next level for the tracking #.
I would say you can call now itself & ask for it - saying you want to make sure it gets delivered to you & don't wanna miss it, hence u need to track it
    All the best...

Congratulations! As we expected, it only took them 2 days to "handle" your SR. Now you can sit back and relax.

Mostly copied from my post in the November 2014 filers thread:
"Its here! Its my green card is finally here.
Its only taken nearly a year of waiting lol.

Sent AOS end of November 2014.
08/22/15 Approved confirmation (via phone), USCIS website states ordered new card.
    08/24/15 Welcome notice mailed.
    09/01/15 Mailed GC
    09/03/15 Received GC"

Have USCIS sped up recently or something? I was expecting a much longer wait - like 3 - 4 weeks or so...
    Very pleasantly surprised!!

Thanks for all the encouragement and support everyone... Today, (the day after doing the service request) our status on USCIS website has changed to: "My card was mailed to me" - with a Sept 3 mailing date. We know the website can be pretty unreliable but we definitely feel like that is a step in the right direction. Checking our mailbox daily and will keep you all posted!

I say still do the SR, still do the infopass! You've been waiting too damn long -- be a squeaky wheel.
Most people have 3 status updates: 1st "My card is being produced" right after approval; 2nd "welcome notice was mailed" a short time after; then 3rd "my new card has been mailed" which means it should arrive within a week (or even a couple days). So the most meaningful update you're waiting for is "my card has been mailed."
    For me it was:
7/14/15 - Status update: My card is being produced
7/15/15 - Status update: Welcome notice was mailed
    7/29/15 - received welcome notice
    8/12/15 - infopass
8/14/15 - Status update: My card was mailed
    8/19/15 - received card

    Thanks for the update!
That's really weird, and I'm so sorry you're having so much trouble There's no harm in doing an infopass earlier, but it's up to you. I really hope you guys get it soon -- hang in there!!! Try to put it out of your mind while you wait for SR response.

I strongly believe that the online statuses are kind of garbage, because most of the times they are out of sync, unfortunately.
In my case on 8/2 status changed to Card Production. On 8/7 I got the approval hard copy but only on 8/9 the status finally changed to Welcome Notice saying they approved the case on 8/3 !!! How can you order card before approving, makes no sense to me.
On 8/24 status changed that Card got mailed on 8/22 - again no sync.
I received the card on 8/25 - and online status still says Card mailed. Normally, as I have seen with EAD/other cases, it changes once USPS delivers the card to you - so again out of sync in my case.
Infopass much required for you, what I feel, as they are dragging things for long, unfortunately.

I am sorry you guys have to experience this.
They always tell you it takes 2 weeks to reply a SR. But in reality it is usually faster. I did a SR too after 1 month waiting. 2 days later my GC was mailed. 4 days later I received a letter about SR from USCIS. The letter explained that our request has been "handled". So I am hoping you guys status will be changed very soon. Don't pay too much attention to their website. It is not stable. I would wait for couple weeks to do infopass too. And, check mail box everyday. Once your SR is "handled", you should receive that letter in the next several days.
    Good luck guys !

Yup, same thing According to USCIS website:
Within e-Request, you will be able to create a Service Request if you do not receive documents related to Forms I-485, Application to Adjust Permanent Residence or Adjust Status; I-765, Application for Employment Authorization; and I-130, Petition for Alien Relative.
    And:
When the customer requests service by calling the National Customer Service Center (NCSC) toll-free telephone number, a SRMT Service Request is created by NCSC staff if the inquiry cannot be resolved during the call.
Customers may also directly initiate SRMT inquiries online when certain pending applications or petitions are outside normal processing times.
Not all service request are related to card productions, so they don't always have to go to a location. So in your case, yes, the service request was of a different nature where physical action was necessary. But not for all requests

Totally agree with Pickle & cococacoa -
Moment it hits 3 weeks timeline, you should raise the SR.
My attorney was about to do so on the day we hit 3 weeks, but luckily we got the card dispatch update the same day morning.
Next time when you call the customer service, please don't waste your precious time with the 1st person/level 1 (whatever they call it) - good for nothing, all they can do is read the same thing which even we can see online. They don't have access to check card dispatch tracking number even, so what help they can do with SR.
Immediately ask you want to talk to the next higher level, to raise SR, as it's beyond normal processing times.
Schedule the infopass too, but I would suggest give at least a week gap or something from the day you raised the SR - or else during infopass IO might end up giving the same feedback - 'please wait, u just raised sr, blah blah'.
Atleast you can get the I-551 stamp, to help you during the trip. Keep the trip supporting docs as well, as they might ask to validate.

    Hello all,
Just found this thread, and I realize most of you have finally gotten your green cards, but I'm hoping some of you might actually see this and provide some advice as we are really anxiously awaiting our green card.
We received our welcome letter on July 23, 2015 (5 weeks ago today). The letter states we need to wait up to 3 weeks to receive green card. On the USCIS website, our status is "My Welcome Notice Was Mailed" and states the green card should arrive by Sept 21, 2015. We have not seen a status of "Green Card in Production" or "My Green Card was mailed", at least to our knowledge. At the 3 week mark, we called USCIS and they told us (rather generically) that we should just wait and then call them again on Sept 22, 2015. Our Welcome Letter was issued from Lees Summit, MO, like many of you who have had delays.
Our AOS case is almost 15 months old - we filed June 6, 2014. We have a trip planned out of the country in early October, so we really can't afford to wait much longer. It seems that in spite of all the USCIS GC production delays, software problems, not enough employees, etc., it appears that most of you did get your GC's (in the end) at or around the 4 week mark after the Welcome Letter. We really don't know what we should do:
    1) Call USCIS again and hope we get a different answer
    2) Schedule an info pass
    3) Call the 1-800-375-5283 that cococacao (post #28) recommends and ask for a "service request"
    4) Do an e-request as bubblebubble (post#36 and #47) recommends. (We're a little wary of this, because it doesn't appear our card has been mailed, and the 3 option specifically says not to do the e-request if you are still in the "waiting" stage.
    5) Call our congressman.
    6) Keep waiting
    We'd greatly appreciate any suggestions!

My card also shipped on a Friday and I received it on the Monday. Fastest step of the whole process!
Date on my card is the day I received the the "Card has been ordered for production" email.

So I went to Marine corp recruiter today to talk about the documents I need, and to start the paper work, when he saw my Social Security card and my Green card he was confused, because my SSN card is listed as (Valid for work only with DHS autorization). I actually did not notice the problem until I went to talk to my recruiter. He said if I have Green Card I should not have a Social Security card that lists that, and told me go check with SSN office before we can further continue the process.

So I went to SSN officer and told them my SS card has Valid for work only with DHS authorization, and the person asked me if I got my Social Card before Green Card, I said yes. So he had me fill out a form of paper (Same paper as if you first signed up for Social Security card) And after filling out the paper, he logged all my information, and asked me to confirm if all was correct.

I should get a new Social Security card within 10 days that does not list Valid for work only with DHS authorization, and told me to destroy my current card once the new one comes in.

So for those that has their Green Card, and your Social Security card lists that, go check with SSN officer if you have Green Card in hand.

The letter for your interview appointment lists the things you need to bring. Also on visajourney you can look up reviews of your local office to see what other people's experiences were like. Go to "Reviews: Embassy/USCIS & POE" (at the top), then select your local office in the drop down menu.

Just got back from the appointment, and I'm really glad we went. Surprised it wasn't a waste of time to be honest lol
The IO said we should have gotten the GC already, and the delay is due to an issue with the factory they contract it out to. Essentially, the Missouri factory updated its software and so some cards were delayed. He was confident we should get it very soon (less than 2 weeks). He said if we don't have it after 6 weeks from approval date, we should call 1-800-375-5283 and say we have a "service request," which means someone local will go down to the physical location and figure out what's up. In that case, we'd get a response from the service request within 2 weeks. Finally he said if nothing changes in a month, we should make another infopass appointment.
The guy was very helpful and sympathetic and didn't just tell us to wait. He mentioned that processing times are slow these days because office budgets haven't expanded to accommodate increasing demands (meaning, more people send in applications than before, but still only a few employees work on them).
Hope this info is beneficial to you!
Edited to add: Forgot to mention that I also asked about possibly getting a passport stamp while we wait for the card, and he strongly recommended against it because it can cause hours and hours of wait time at customs and ports of entry. He said he'd do it if it were an emergency, though, so we'll keep it in mind.

The officer told us that usually it takes 2 weeks. Welcome notice says it takes 3 weeks. Uscis website shows it takes 2 months.
You can say, Interview officer told you to make infopass in 4 weeks if u don't receive green card. that is not a lie lol The most important question is, what is going on there, what causes the delay, and when can you expect your green card? You have a trip later on out of the country etc.
I have a feeling that you will get the answer tomorrow. Plus, there is nothing to lose. Good luck !!
