Tu tienes el numero de rastreo de tu paquete? Para q revises si en verdad fue entregado por la empresa de correo.

Tu novio envió el pago en cheque? Puede consultar con su banco si ya lo hicieron efectivo.

Desafortunadamente al no tener numero de caso si llamas a uscis lo que te diran es que esperes. Revisa esas dos cositas y nos cuentas.

Hi Karito! Hope you are doing well!

Do not worry, your package of instructions will arrive with a scanned copy of your approved I129F form, you don't need vaccines for the K1 visa, you will need them for the adjustment of status here, if you have any record of vaccines bring it with you to the medical appointment.

Once your status at ceac says "ready" the embassy will contact you and send the package of instructions, you can also send them an email to ivbogota@state.gov with all your information. (But wait until the petition arrives at the embassy)

In the meantime start gathering documents for the interview:

-7 passport size pictures (2 for the laboratory, 4 for the medical examination, 1 for the interview)

-Form I134 affidavit of support, filled and signed by your fiance

-Most recent W2 and 1040

-Your passport

-Birth certificate (Registro civil de nacimiento) and divorce decree (if any)

-Police records (you can access to them online a few days before the interview)

If you have any medical documentation about your condition (hypothyroidism) bring them to the interview as well and tell the Dr why you cannot have vaccines, he will determine which ones you can get (if that's the case)

- Any other evidence of ongoing relationship that you consider pertinent (pictures,tickets emails,etc) the consul did not ask me for any of those (and I was well prepared jaja) but the day of my interview I saw a girl that was asked to show it.

***Update.

Got a biometrics appointment letter for the i765 I had to refill on April. It says code 2 and it's for May 23. They misspelled my name ? Always something going on with uscis...

Does anyone know how can I request them to correct it?

I calles uscis but my receipt number "doesn't show" in their system yet, nothing they can do (according to the agent) and asked me to wait 45 days. ?

I am crying for joy lol

its crazy this all happens when i move and things came so quickly lol

its weird that the site is not updating properlly as the letter i got said i was approved for both on may 4th so i recommend to people who has not got the letter yet to just wait for it to come in the mail

I had a strange update today. I requested an expedite of my EAD because I have a job offer on April 28. On May 1 I received an approval notice for my AP, dated April 28. I haven't received the card yet.

This morning I received an email from uscis asking for more information to expedite my EAD. I'm a bit confused. I thought that AP/EAD were approved at the same time and that you receive a combo card. Has anyone ever heard of receiving an AP card without the EAD?

I did receive my approval letter for AP last week and my EAD is not approved yet.

I got an approval letter for my AP a few min ago, it has my picture at the bottom, I have a question, it says:

"Presentation of the original of this document prior to April 27 2106 allows a customs and border protection inspector at a port of entry to parole the named bearer whose photograph appears hereon into the US based upon urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit..."

Does that mean I can only leave the country in case of emergency?

Is this I512 different than the one that comes with the EAD card?

Jim muchas gracias por tu ayuda, eso exactamente era lo que le trataba de explicar a mi prometido, porque estuve leyendo tambien al respecto... Por eso era que no entendia porque el abogado se demoraba tanto diligenciando el formato, y es que claro el lleno uno para mi prometido y uno para cada uno de mis suegros y no mas ahi son casi 40 paginas, mientras que ese I-134 son solo dos... Hare que me vuelva enviar todo; lo que el abogado insiste que si me sirve que no es el primer caso que el lleva y siempre ha llenado esa forma... Que estres con todo eso...!!

Cuando uno va a la entrevista lo primero q le dan en la puerta Es una lista de los documentos q debes tener listos y en orden. Ahi esta el I134 y evidencia de sostenimiento economico; creeme Es mejor pelearle al abogado que al consul ? Jajaja

Niñas una pregunta, acabo de recibir los documentos de mi prometido que corresponde a la evidencia economica, en esta parte nos ayudo un abogado; y como mi prometido ha cambiado bastante de trabajo en el ultimo año, el abogado recomendo que aparte de presentar sus papeles tambien los papas me sirvieran como fiador/patrocinador; la cosa es que revisando los documentos el abogado lleno la Form I-184 que viendo es mucho mas compleja y extensa son casi 15 paginas, lo que no se si habra algun problema en presentar esa?

Para la visa K1 el paquete de instrucciones pide el I134 (affidavit of support para visas de no inmigrante), en caso de necesitar co sponsor cada uno llena ese mismo formulario y anexa copias de los taxes mas recientes (las instrucciones del affidavit of support tambien lo dice)

El I864 se usa para la peticion de residencia despues que te cases (affidavit of support para inmigrantes) y debe enviarse junto con el I485.

Como se verifica si es necesario tener co sponsor?

No importa cuantas veces halla cambiado de trabajo tu prometido, siempre y cuando halla declarando taxes y el montó sea suficiente para ser tu sponsor aqui.

Revisa los poverty guidelines para este año y si los ingresos reportados en los taxes (gross income) estan por debajo de lo minimo requerido entonces si lo necesitan. Tambien depende del numero de personas que tu novio declare como dependientes de el. (Household size)

In their webpage USCIS says this is a proposal and invite public comment, we will know more in 60 days when they publish a final rule in the Federal Register.

A quick "update" about my case...

As you guys know, 60 days after we sent our AOS my daughter's EAD and AP were approved, and later that day I found out (after calling USCIS) that my I765 was "misplaced" and had to re send it.

A few min ago I got a letter from USCIS Memphis office, it says:

"USCIS reviewed your case and it has been determined that the USCIS Tucson Field Office has jurisdiction of your I 485 application, you will receive a notification within 30 days of this notice, at this time no further action is required from you..."

I though my case was at NBC in Missouri. Does anyone know what is next? (Besides being more patient)

Any advice will be appreciated.

Not sure if I told you guys my AP was approved on April 22nd, no letter confirmation about that yet, this is the status:

On April 22, 2016, we approved your Form I-131, Application For USCIS Travel Document, Receipt Number MSC16XXXXXXXX. We will mail your approval notice.

She has another son that is 10 years older then my husband, my husband is her last born, I tried talking to her as well for 8 years saying I understand as I am a woman as well that will protect her children and I tried to assure her I will never hurt her son , the sec I came here I cooked and cleaned for my husband doing normal things that a good housewife does till I work but she thinks its all a stage, she told my brother in law this and he laughed and told me about it and saying how he defended me from her

The whole family loves me but her , the grandmother is even in shock by it telling her how can u be so cruel to her

It made me sad at first and I can't even tell my parents how hurt I am cause my mom would be so hurt and my dad would stress which is not good for his heart condition

I would type more but typing what I had is making me cry, I just wish she understand just cause I am not Christain and not of the same background I am a bad person

Mash: I am so happy your husband's aunt is going to help, and trust me, if that woman were a true Christian she would be doing the right thing, for you and for her own son. Today was a very hard day for me

I know I am trying hard to be positive about the EAD/AP an I still am but I just wish it would just come cause as of now I need to get out my husbands family home as the mother is now becoming more controlling and tells me I have to do the cooking and cleaning for her now since I am living in her home rent free and take care of her mother while she is out doing her thing ..so much stress and that I went to the doctors this morning I didn't want to say anything to my family or anyone I was pregnant till I was more months into the pregnancy but seeing the doctor they said there is no longer a heartbeat and advised me I have a low chance of having a baby go into full term and that alone shattered me to pieces as since I was 5 my dream was to be a mom and the sec I come back to the home his mother is telling me to do all this or I have to go get a cash paying job and give her rent or she will kick me n my husband out

Idk how anyone can be this heartless, I knew she didn't like me at first cause of my background but I thought after 8 years of getting to know me she would change , I'm honestly in tears and I'm hoping me n my husband can move out soon but without my EAD we won't have enough to survive on our own as the money he makes is mainly enough for our groceries and his bills

I'm sorry to write all of this but I didn't know where else to type and I need advice on what to do as I don't want to worry my family back home

I don't see a problem. Just be open about the past relationships and send the divorce decree. I had a similar issue when filing our k1 last year, at some point in the i129F they asked about the date my husband ex fiancée left the country and the alien number of that petition. He wrote a separate statement explaining what happened (it was 15yrs ago) the approximate date when she left the us and her full name. We did not have a problem.

-My daughter's combo card was delivered. Yay! I ran like a crazy person to the mailbox and there it was!

-Got my noa1 for the EAD I had to resend last week. It shows as "Validation error" when I enter it in my case status tho. Too soon I guess

If I were you I would not send that document as evidence. Do you have perhaps utility bills with both names on it? Cellphone bills? Medical insurance provided by his job? You guys can also open a joint bank account or ask his bank to give you a credit card. Just an idea..those are the kind of things we sent.

Quick question guys.

I just got a not a notification that my I131 permission to travel document was approved. I haven't heard yet about the I765 that I resubmitted on Tuesday. Does that mean when I get the approval notice I can leave the country?

I am confused.

Quick update about my case:

I resubmit the I-765 along with all supporting documents plus a copy of the I-485 receipt notice and biometrics appointment letter. It was delivered 1 hour ago.

I called uscis and a tier 2 agent said the biometrics usually covers the AOS and EAD at once, but I may end up with another biometric appointment. He also said there are 3 possible scenarios to resolve my situation:

-The agent in charge of my case accepts his mistake and asks a "supervisor" to expedite my green card.

-The agent receives my application and after seeing the mistake immediately approves EAD/AP and sends a combo card within a week. Or

-The agent process the application as a regular one; in this case I will have to wait 60 more days or so.

It all depends of the agent workflow. Sigh... ? Everything happens for a reason,if anyone here is in the same situation please let me know. My daughter's cases were updated yesterday to "Case was approved" for I131 and "Card was mailed to me" for I765.

So guys today I got a notification about my daughters case, the status of her I765 changed to "new card is being produced" No emails or text about my case,I decided to call uscis and for my surprise the agent told me I never got a noa 1 for my I765 because my package is missing/misplaced and I should re submit the employment authorization form with all the pertinent documents and wait.

? The day I got the Noa1 hard copy for I485 and I131,I called uscis and they said I Will receive it later but never gave me a case number, I called back again about 1 month ago and they said I should wait another month to get the case number. ?

I just went to Walgreens for new passport pictures, will send the form by usps tonight, feeling a bit sad right now...

Just needed to vent right now, as you guys always say nobody knows how uscis works.

EAD/AP - just got two emails today both are approved and a card is being produced !!

Hello friends.

My fiance and I are getting married in July in the court in the US and we want to get married in my country (Colombia) in december 2017. Do you guys know how long do I have to wait in the US before leaving the country?

My advice:

Get married soon after entering the US and apply for adjustment of status,do not leave the country until you have your 2 yrs permanent resident card or advance parole document in hand.

Take a look at the AOS forms and samples here in visajourney, it will be helpful to have some things ready when you get here.
