  1. Hello Vjers!

I have a question on the I-864 Form Part 6 (Sponsor's income and employment) Number 5, where it asks for the current individual annual income, what should we put here the annual income for 2013 or the income accumulated from Jan-April 2014?

Is not putting NA on all the blank spaces will get us a checklist? Even if on the instructions it says leave it blank?

I hope someone can enlighten me with this.

  3. Got our case number on the 1st of May! Yay! Waiting for DS-261 and AOS bill ;)

I have a question, my passport is still process (for the change of civil status and last name thingy) and it's going to take a month, I have a copy of my old passport with my maiden name(its expiry is on 2017), can I use it for the IV package? and when I get my passport with my married name, I can just bring it to me at the interview?

  4. Hi! Just got my CFO certificate last week in Cebu. - 2 x 2 or passport-sized photo

    - Marriage Certificate if you're married (Original and photocopy)

    - CENOMAR, if you're not married (original and photocopy)

    - Payment of P400.00

There will be a short interview after the seminar in which you will be required to present these documents:

    - Birth Certificate of your husband/fiance (photocopy)

    - Photos of you together

    - In some cases G-325A of the petitioner(I wasn't asked to provide this but the others were asked to)

    - Photocopy of your husband/fiance's passport(biographic information)

    - photocopy of the passport page showing the stamps when he entered and left the Philippines

  6. I've been in that situation a month ago, but with the help of the members here on VJ, you'll be fine ;)

    1. Secure a copy of your marriage certificate from your local registrar, you can use that for your I-130 application (I was hesitant at first if USCIS will accept the copy from the local registrar, but they did) then request from your local registrar that your marriage certificate be forwarded to the nearest National Statistics Office, ours took two weeks to get (I requested it online, cause falling in line is such a hassle).

    2. Focus first on your I-130 package. You can read the guide on what to do here http://www.visajourney.com/content/i130guide1

    3. After you have submitted your petition, your wife can start working on the requirements needed for NVC.

    - If she wants to change her last name on her passport to your last name, she will need to get the Certificate of Attendance (Guidance and Counselling) from CFO(Commission on Filipinos Overseas). You can read the requirements for CFO on this link:

    http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1348:fiancee-spouses-and-other-partners-of-foreign-nationals&catid=140

    - You can start reading NVC guides to prepare yourself for the next step after your I-130 is approved.

  7. You dont know if your case was approved yet it was shipped to the NVC? If you got the NOA2 from USCIS, it should tell you the status. Pick the phone call NVC 603 334 0700 be prepared to wait and talk to someone give your USCIS Service center case number get the status. There is the AOS and IV stages waiting once you get your case number and invoive. At this stage a lot has to do with your pace.

I mean the it's expedite request that we don't know if it was approved or not, we didn't get any notice about it.

  8. Our case was shipped to NVC on the 26th of March, I wanted to know how do we know if NVC received our case?

Will it be okay if I, the beneficiary, will email NVC to ask the status of our application?

We requested an expedite at the USCIS but we don't know if it was approved, we didn't receive any emails regarding the matter, but after the request our application was approved the next week. Will it be automatically expedited in NVC too? or do we need to make another request? If so, when do we start requesting for the expedite, once they receive our case or once I get our Case Number and IIN?

Have a great day everyone! God bless!

  9. Hello Vjers,

I need some help regarding my signatures, I am the beneficiary and when I signed all the documents we submitted in USCIS I used my old signature and now we're at the NVC stage I want to use my new (married signature), do you think it's going to be a problem?

Hope to get some answers on this matter.

Have a good day and God bless!
