Tried NVC 1 more time and got a nice person this time. Got our interview date JUNE 17th!!!!! So excited I thought it was going to be way later.
Congrats!!!
-
So I got an update on CEAC today and I am thinking its our interview date. I called NVC and they say they have no information and to call the embassy. I called the embassy and they say they cant tell me anything....im so frustrated...
How long since you did your readiness or medical, whichever was last? AND NVC sometimes are helpful sometimes not. And embassy will not discuss it unless it's been more than 3/4 weeks since you submitted stuff. The waiting is hard I know and frustrating.

Yeah I mean i have the letter, W2 copies (cause we get electronic ones at work), and my transcripts from two years I think is what I gave him. We are double checking so I'm good with whatever, i mean I guess he could even not give them the letter unless they just asked for it maybe?
-
Yeah we want to try and file at the latest maybe a month or so after the marriage (July 18th EEK!) so I know it'll be like go go go! lol
-
I'm not sure what you're asking, but as far as photocopies and originals--in general if it has a signature like employer letter, it should be original. Pay slips, tax returns, W2s have been accepted as photocopies. They will hand back your original documents like birth certificate or divorce decree.
For your AOS, you may have to start over with your employer getting a new letter. It is a totally new and separate process. Interview/visa is Dept of State and AOS is USCIS. Think of it as starting over from scratch.
If you really want your employer letter back, then take a photocopy and ask the interviewer if it would be possible for him to file a photocopy and let you have the original back for adjustment of status.
If Neil is anything like my fiancé/husband, he will go brain dead at the window and forget all the organizing you tried. I was there in person and he acted like he understood but obviously didn't.
haha yes you figured out what I was trying to ask. It was a huge pain to get the letter and my salary won't change until after the first of the year and I have my W2 for AOS but I would like the original back if possible. I gave him a copy of it as well. Everything else we have multiple originals so while it is nice to get them back it wouldn't be awful except with that one lol And oh yes I have no doubts he'll be super nervous and forget where I put everything and everything. I'll have to figure out how to help him organize it all now that we have all of it into a neat separate file from the other stuff. lol It'll be an interesting day bless his heart. lol Course I would be super nervous myself. lol Thank you

For k1 you cannot request aos until after you get married.
-
Thanks girl, that makes me understand it more so I can advise him so he'll know what's happening. Thank you again. So happy for you guys
-
Ok great thank you. I'll have to figure out how to do a little organizing form afar. Here is my question though. To make sure I'm understanding. You just gave them all originals of everything and they then returned them? Except the affidavit and supporting documents? And If they take tour original of the work letter for income proof how can you also use that to file for aos? Send a copy?

Ok Scott got his interview date for June 16th at 1:00. How does the process go when at the Embssay in London. Trying to help ease his nerves
Here is you a cheesy yet informative video lol
Hey Lee btw did you happen to notice if you could take a backpack in with you? And do they let you give them copies of documents or require the originals? Like how did that part go? So I can know how to organize him lol

Yay!! Congrats!!

You guys have fun and try and relax as best you can. I wish you all the best and hope that you keep in touch on this thread or if we make another. Just like to follow along while everyone finally has more happy moments with less frustrating ones. I am so happy to see everyone getting to move forward.

Good luck ladies. You'll do just fine. Neil is the same too. He's packed and miserable living at his parents so he is so ready to go. I'm about to put a big deposit down on a new wedding venue so I'm all nerves again. You guys will be grinning like Cheshire cats come Monday and deserve it! It's almost over ladies!
-
Haha awesome. Yes those are the same fears that I have as well.
-
Yes I think we are all grateful for all the help she gives us. She makes it easier. and yes you'll be fine but perfectly normal to be anxious a little. It's almost over and I bet that it was a little emotional but very sweet that they care so much about you guys.

One more question as to getting married part - we are planning to have a courthouse ceremony at first and proper wedding later. I get confused with marriage license thing - docs are county/state specific, as to waiting time - websites do refer to month ahead to the date for document submissions. Does that mean that we will have to wait for that period of time or this is recommended?
Honestly there is no way to really answer this. Marriage license varies state my state unfortunately here. So it depends on your state as to what they do. Mine has no waiting period and no blood work. Some require blood work and some require a waiting period. Normally if they require a waiting period you apply for it and then they will "approve it" after the waiting period. . You can look on the states website and it should be able to tell you the criteria specifically and normally give you an email address of the clerks office to call or email them to ask any questions. Hope that helps.

You're welcome. If you don't get it in a week or so then I would try emailing or calling nvc to see again. And yes we all understand all of the frustration!
-
I haven't called sorry no. But I've emailed about address and they changed but I know when emailing if they think it's just for a status check then they most likely won't answer so I'm not sure what advice to give. But if you just now did your readiness form, assuming they didn't get it before but they have now. You won't get interview date and letter until a couple weeks after you submitted the readiness form. So if you just submitted it again on the 7th then I would give it another week to get your interview letter. If that's what it is waiting on sadly they most likely won't answer you thinking it is a status check which they don't do. But allow a couple weeks after your newly submitted readiness form. Sorry for the problems though :/
-
Yes that update will most likely be where they received his medical records. And it's usually a week or two after that they mail it.
-
Probably in a couple weeks yes you should get the letter.
-
Lol you mean had his medical? And yes you should get it in a couple weeks. That update will be his medical results received probably. Awesome
