  1. Yes that's correct. Don't rely on processing times page here. That page shows CSC as slowest right now, but in reality they are handling highest amount of i130s. Due to the files transferring all over from NBC to CSC and TSC, approval dates are very random. Most of the files after october 22nd went to service centers directly and we are basically first people to reach directly to service centers. I hope they process our files in order, not just the files that were transferred from NBC. At least TSC is slowly working on some i130s. I have no idea what Vermont service center is up to. They are not even getting any i130s transfer from NBC.

Thanks, that makes more sense now.

  2. My fiancee just received her K1 visa. She will be receiving a rather large ($100,000+) dowry from her family. I heard somewhere about a 50,000 rmb limit on money leaving China? Does anyone have experience on how to bring the money into the U.S. from China? And will she be taxed in the U.S.? in China?

    First of all: Sweet!!!

This may not be the right suggestion but anyways she is allowed to fly in less than $10,000 of course with declaration. I would have just left the cash in China where it appreciates to be picked up on subsequent trips.

  3. I am in the October batch as well I guess since I got NOA-1 on Oct 23rd and it says Texas Service Center so I am assuming its being processed at TSC right now.

I always look at http://www.visajourney.com/content/times and get confused since on right side there is I130 for IR1 and for TSC it keeps changing back AND forth. I mean how can the date go from July 23rd yesterday to June 5th today? Does that just mean that someone who applied June 5th, 2013 got approved today and it shows the latest member who reported in as updated?

  4. Ok, so I applied I-130 in Oct 2013 for my spouse who is currently a French resident. I guess, I am trying to figure out how much I need to wait for NOA2 and I don't know how I can find out what is my service center or local office. The following address is stated in the NOA1:

    USCIS

    Texas Service Center

    PO BOX 851488

    Mesquite, TX 75185

So I guess Texas is the service center? and how would I go about finding out what is the local office? Do I even need to know what is the local office to get some idea of how long its going to take to get NOA2?

I have logged in at uscis.gov to check the status etc but was not able to really find out anything much through that site so I appreciate your insights.
