I did the signature timeline, now its see if it shows. Thanks for all who helped me. Also, I had so many wrong dates on there, no wonder you guys thought my timeline was fake!!! As you can see, I have not figure out how to respond right on the comment for everyone because sometimes that little quote thing does not show up. Anyway, thanks!!!
How did you get your timeline into your signature? Did you do that manually or some setting in your profile? I am interested in getting my timeline to show up as part of my signature.
BTW, your timeline looks really weird since there are no breaks for each incident and the whole thing is one long line.

April 10th here and no NOA 2 to date. We're being processed through Vermont and not transferred... yet. We're hoping we don't surpass September
If your 5 months or whatever is supposed to be the processing time is up, make sure to open a service request. They are forced to take action if you open a service request while if you don't open one, your file may sit in a corner gathering dust for another 2-3 months.
Call them and open a service request because it is impossible to open one till the stats get updated which takes yet another couple months on top of the processing time.

Please note that effective August 17, 2014, this site will no longer support Internet Explorer version 6.0 and Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 2.0/3.0. Please check your browser setting to make sure that Transport Layer Security (TLS) is enabled.Today is the day for any possible upgrade to the system. Will it bring more woes or comfort. will it slow down more and speed up and make the entire application senseful?Yet to see what is in store.
Most modern browsers already support TLS. So everything should be seamless and fine. Seriously, there is really no need for them to put such a scary message on the site.

Hi,
My husband got his citizenship and we have posted a letter to NVC to upgrade our petition form F2A to IR, can you anyone let me know the process after NVC receive the document.
1. How long it will take to issue visa number ?
2. How long it will takes to issue send the AOS package ?
3. What is the meaning of Send AOS Package ? (and the documents I have to attached)
4. What is the meaning of Send IV Package ? (and the documents I have to attached)
Hope anyone reply me in this regard
Thank you.
You can read up on the process here: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Process
You have to call NVC to obtain the case number and invoice number. Then you can fill out the DS-261 when it becomes available. The AOS and IV packages take 60 days for NVC to open and process them.

I don't think we should let this conversation simmer into a social discussion thread, but if you guys are applying to become permanent residents in the US, you have a lot to learn about what it means to be an "American." These are children we are talking about. I'm sorry that it is going to take an extra 30 days to process your application, but I'm sure using the internet on your computer won't kill you. (As opposed to living in abject poverty in dangerous countries like Guatemala - look at their murder and violent crime rates.)
People have sought out the US for generations as a refuge from their difficult reality. While we may not agree on the method for entry, but it's hardly new. This has happened for generations - the most recent wave of immigrants turns on the "new" people arriving. Let's try to think rationally and compassionately. I'm happy that we are all doing the right thing and applying to live legally in the US with our loved ones.
Well, the issue is that these kids will be STUCK in the system for years and then finally still won't be able to become proper legal residents. I think any child who has been in the USCIS system for more than 5 years should automatically become a US citizen. They are just children for crying out loud.

I hope your case is not at TSC. Takes forever for TSC cases to get approved is what my batch of I-130 faced when our file was at TSC.

Hello everyone, my husband and I were approved on 8/7 and he will be coming to US first week of September. Does anyone know about how long it will be before he can work in the US and since he has a drivers license in Dominican Republic if he can use it here in NYS, I tried searching dmv information but that has been useless. Wishing everyone the best
He can use the Dominican Republic driver license initially until such time he gets a driver license from State of New York. He may even be able to skip the driving test because he has the Dominican Republic driver license but I am not 100% sure on that.
He should be able to start working but he will need social security number which takes a couple of weeks to obtain.

I got feedback that it takes about 2 to 3 months to get an interview in Nepal after the case is complete.

I called NVC today and they told me the IV package can be sent using the AOS barcode sheet.
I just sent out my AOS packet today. So does it mean I can send my IV packet now as well BEFORE the IV fee is invoiced?
I was under the impression that I should wait till the IV fees are invoiced before I sent out the IV packet.
-
I just printed out my pay stubs since my company is paperless pretty much and I also made a black and white copy of the W2...according to the operator on the phone, they did accept them.
Thanks for the feedback, I will just send them photocopies because I have just 1 copy of the original which I would like to hold on to. I added in the cover letter that I am including photocopies and the originals will be available to review during the interview.
-
With the AOS packet, did you guys send original paystub, W2 with the AOS packet or just a color photocopy?

Since weekend I have been getting the This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately." message. But I got an email this morning stating that the immigrant visa petition I filed is ready for processing at the National Visa Center. It says to go to http://immigrantvisas.state.gov and click the Pay the Affidavit of Support processing fee. But when I try to do that I keep getting the same error message.
Can anyone give me some feedback as to if this is normal and how long would I have to wait before I can pay the AOS fees? Should I contact NVC about it?
Thanks for your feedback.

I just got the scary "This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted…" message. Thank God, I had read the Wiki earlier else I would have had a stroke reading that badass message.
The DS-261 is ready to be filled out and I am guessing the AOS should be getting invoiced at this time.

Does anyone what IV stand for in the IV track?
Does anyone what IV stand for in the IV track?
k, I just figured out that it means Immigrant Visa. I thought it was the Roman numeral 4.

The 603-334-0700 number is always busy. Is there another NVC number at which they can be reached to find out the case number etc?

I did not earn any income for 2013. I was a full time student and also graduated last year. I got claimed by my parents for tax credit purposes. I can use that as a document why I did not file tax for 2013? I can also ask my school to write a letter about me enrolling and graduating from that school and the timeline of it. Currently, I have income and I'm just so blessed from the company I worked at and gave me a spot even for a new grad. Thank you for your reply.
If you had no income at all last year, just show 2010-2012 tax returns. Because we are not required to file tax returns for 2013 until April 15th 2014. In some cases, people get an extension to file even later. And tax transcripts are not available immediately upon filing and take 8 to 10 weeks to obtain.
Also, you may want to look at any assets you can demonstrate to make up for the last year's income. Worst case scenario, just get your parents to do the co-sponsorship.

Hello All,
I had a VERY confusing conversation on Friday with NVC. if anyone has any advice its greatly appreciated! I am wondering if anyone was successful in sponsoring a loved on the I-864 form - AOS packet with only assets?
We currently live abroad and thats why I did not meet the income requirement last year, but I do barley have 3 times the requirement in assets. Including my husbands assets we are all set.
I called NVC yesterday and I was told I could submit I-864 and I-864A to claim my husbands assets with mine. BUT I was told that NVC "doesn't care about assets we don't look at them" and that because I will not meet the income requirement on my own and Im not using a joint sponsor I will get a checklist requesting to have a joint sponsor. I said ok, so does that mean I must have a joint sponsor? We should be ok if looking just at assets and I prefer not to have my parents sponsor us and have this responsibility "we will then push your case to the embassy abroad and they will review your assets and make the determination if you are eligible because we do not review assets"
Anyone successful this route with the I-864?
Thank you any advice is greatly appreciated!!!
They are saying that they won't be able to verify the assets if you they are abroad. They may have to send your file out to an embassy to get that done and it would take time and effort.
You would be better off getting your parents' sponsorship.

Wife is getting another police certificate even though it really has not expired. But it is me who would have to get anything related to a marriage certificate here in NYC. Not sure what they want. Should I get another ORIGINAL certificate of marriage registration (at a cost of $50 from the clerk's office), go to a notary and get that notarized? That seems silly when it already has a seal, and will delay things further.
Get another original marriage certificate and get a notarized copy as well. Send both and if possible include a freakin Chinese language notarized copy as well.
The whole thing sounds like BS to me and almost feel that they are writing about someone else's file to you guys.

So I am really happy today. Received my NOA2. I am very surprised though. Its been less than a month since I initially sent out my 1-130 package. Does it usually get approved this fast? It's supposedly on it's way to the NVC. Is it good news that it went by so fast? I've noticed many get there NOA2 months after their first one. Just if anyone has any insight on this. Thank you!!
Many applications from Phillipines have history of getting approved quickly. You should start preparing documents for AOS(Affidavit of support) such as tax return transcripts and letter from employer etc right now. Call NVC every 1 week to get your # and then you can pay the AOS fee and send the AOS packet.
Be on top of it and you probably have all the ####### done in about 4 months. Congratulations and good luck to you!!

Did you file 2013 tax returns? You have to submit either 1 year tax return or 3 years tax returns(you can include 2011 and 2013 to show good income history). If you have not already filed 2013 tax return, make sure you include all income and not just income from job.All of the income together should be over the poverty level and not just income through a job so try that angle.
Also, you can include current pay stubs to show you are earning well above the poverty level.

k, which thread are you guys hanging out at nowadays for those whose whose I-130 got approved? Boy, this thread has died down quite a bit now.
-
My priority date was Oct 25th. I filed online service request on June 5th. And it was approved June 25th. Clearly, they just sat on it till I filed a service request. So if you have not filed a service request, do so immediately.
-
I-130 approved finally after opening that service request. Looks like they toss your file into a dark corner till you open up a service request and nag them.
-
still waiting. One SR says they have assigned our case to officer and the next SR says it will be assigned to officer soon. Don't know what to believe.
Did you file a service request to find out this information or did you talk to tier 2 to get this info?

Ok, I had to go into My Profile -> Settings -> Signature and then manually type in my timeline. It would have been better if the timeline which I filled out under my profile showed up automatically as my signature.
Now, I am going to have to go edit my signature each time something happens. Oh wait, I doubt anything is happening for another 30 days thanks to NVC taking its own cool time to open up my package.
