  1. hmm, yeah, ill call in the morning and change it to the week before, just to be sure! you must be so excited for your interview...good luck!

Thank you. Yes, good idea. Gives you breathing space. And good luck back at ya. The medical is a doddle so long as you don't mind getting your kit off ;) and the x ray guy is super nice, you can keep your gown on in front of him. My doctor was the South African lady and she was lovely. Remember it's just a job to them and when it's over your another step closer to your loved one :)
  2. I'm back from Montreal! My interview was on Monday, but I spent the next two days sightseeing the city. :content:

I now have my laptop computer with me so I just wrote my Consulate Review (Interview Experience)!

It's at the end of my timeline page. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=166483

I'm now waiting for my passport back with the visa. :star: I hope I get it tomorrow! Fingers crossed!

Brilliant review. A standard to live up to. I'll just stick with the yogic breathing though ;) congrats again Austin xxx
  3. Thanks very much Cathymac! Good luck for your interview, you'll have to let me know how it goes!

I have booked my medical for the 28th (1 week before the interview on the 9th) do you think that's enough time?? It seemed like you did yours much earlier!

    Thanks

I'm sure it'll be fine, it only needs 5 days to get to the embassy but it won't be sent until after the second day when they have your blood results back. I would call Knightsbridge and ask if you've left enough time tbh. Also, if there are any issues, like high blood pressure or ticking a box that you haven't got a letter about from your gp, they will ask you to get a letter from your gp and fax it to them. And in my case, and that of a friend, the gp took almost two weeks to get the stuff to Knightsbridge. They won't send the results to the embassy until they get that. And you will be in AP until they receive it. They won't deny you if you have the receipt and are waiting results. The long and short of it is why I did mine early, lol. I had high BP through nerves and got it checked two days later and it was fine x
  4. Hey, just got interview confirmation, 9th December, yeyy!!

A little confused by the interview letter though. It says that I need to take all originals to interview including husbands (sponsor) tax returns etc, but then further down on the documents section where it gives the letter coded key It says that they have sent my documents to the embassy in the UK. So do I have to take everything AGAIN? Just want to make sure I take everything needed.

    Thanks !

You don't have to take everything again. What you need most is passport, 2 2x2 photos, interview letter, ds260 confirmation page and courier instructions. However, most people do take original copies of everything submitted to nvc, just in case they get 'ahem' lost in transit. I plan to, plus a printed out copy of the Aos.

  5. We are APPROVED!!!! :') That was the most scariest thing ever and the guy was looking at me like he didn't believe me, But right at the end he smiled and said you're visa is approved, Congratulations :)

    Congrats, good to hear :)
  6. I have a question regarding credit. Does your UK credit score follow you to the US? I'm a bit old school and I've never had a credit card so I have no credit record at all. And being self employed, I just cant get one now. Is this going to be a problem or can I just start off small and build up over there? Obviously I'll have access to a joint account at the start.

  7. As my interview date is fast approaching, I am having a worsening case of paranoia, even though I know I'll be fine.

So please humour me and let me know if my list of documents I'm taking is adequate!

    • Interview letter
    • Passport
    • DS-260 confirmation
    • Courier confirmation from usvisa-info.com, printed from their website, not the email (for some reason the latter won't print)
    • AOS documents with original signatures in case NVC ate the first lot
    • Same with IV docs plus photocopies of the certificates
    • 2x passport photos, US dimensions
    • DS-3025 and vaccination records (I know I don't need them, but like I said, paranoid)
    • Six pictures I took of the two of us when I visited in August. That's all I'm taking for relationship proof since the rest was front-loaded.
    Cheers m'dears
Pretty much what I'm taking though I'm not bothering with photocopies of original docs, I've got copies so they can have them, lol. I've also only got a copy of the Aos pack with no original signatures so hope that'll be ok. And copies of evidence submitted to Uscis plus added photos and airline confirmations of Tammy's trips to see me along with all my expired passports with US stamps. I think I'm the day before you so I'll let you know how it goes x
  8. APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED APPROVED !!!!!!!

SO excited to finally say those words!

Thank you to everyone for your kind words, thoughts, and wishes for luck at my interview yesterday! I submitted a review here:

    http://www.visajourney.com/reviews/view-dos-cis-reviews.php?entry=15528

Wow I see this thread has been busy since I was away! 29 pages! i haven't caught up yet, but I will go back to see what news I have missed!

Let me know if anyone has any questions about the experience!

    Yeah, congratulations :)

  9. So I had my London embassy interview this morning and I've been approved - yay!

BUT with all the excitement of it all I left with a big grin on my face and went outside to call my hubby. It was only when I was celebratory shopping on Bond St that I realised that I was never given this sealed packet thing that everyone talks about the I'm supposed to hand over at POE?! I was only given a disc with my chest xray on.

    What do I do?!

    Congrats xxx
  10. No. The K1's do it because they need to let the embassy know when they are ready . Many of the embassies handle K1'a different some send in their forms and such and the embassy then allows scheduling of interview some bring everything to embassy and need to let embassy know they are ready. IR1/CR1 do not need to. You are ready when NVC schedules you. The embassy is assuming you will get medical and be ready at the appointed time since that's all you have to do is a medical.

Thank you dwheels, thought it was something I'd missed xxx

  11. Has anyone purchased flights for POE yet? I'm on the fence with if I should by now or wait unitl after the interview.

I have but for 15 days after the interview because we found one so cheap that even a need to change the date with us air would still make it as cheap as anything else we found. I wouldn't recommend to anyone doing the same though, it's your call. The last few days London has been getting visas out so fast that now I wish I'd waited, could have left earlier ;)
