I went to Tunisia for 2 weeks... That was the extent of my visiting and marrying my husband. I can tell you that my husband put together a book of all our phone calls, the phone bill with highlighted my US phone number to his Tunisian one. All our messenger messages, our skype calls, video chat stills, photos from our time together in Tunisia. Every single time we talked, typed, texted all copied out and put in the book. All the times he sent me things, or I sent him things, receipts.. everything we could think of went in that book.. You have to do the work, put together your life together in a tidy package. He also put tabs on the sections to make it easier for the interviewer to look through.. It is what it is.. It took us quite awhile.. but he's here and that's all that matters.. We have mutual interests.. He's an old soul and I am young at heart.. a win win.. Peace.
A footnote is.. the phrase someone was looking for was I believe "Love Rats"

Don't listen to the naysayers on the age difference. My husband and I.. I was 56 and he was 20 when we married 4 yrs ago in Tunisia. There are some that will always have something to say about our age difference.. and that's on them. My husband is here in the states with me and has been since July of 2015. The hardest time he had in coming here was the port of entry in Chicago. He had to endure the officer's getting in his face and demanding to know how much money he paid me to have me marry him... That was his "Welcome to America"..
Other than that.. I can offer you advice on the subject.. Worry not. It does no good to worry and only robs you of precious time. Peace..

how long did your husband get the work permit?
It wasn't a work permit.. it was a CR-1 AOS biometrics .. All is well.. He called the field office and they let him go the following day.

We do take immigration seriously.. He did find his passport which I guess we should've posted prior.. It was in the footlocker that had been my dad's.. We looked everywhere else.. just not there.. Secondly... I have nothing to add.. We do not require empathy , just an opinion... Have a nice day.

Not to nitpick, but how did he miss something so important?
It was an honest mistake.. We thought it was for the 5th.. until we looked at the letter and realized it had today's date on it..

My husband had his biometrics appointment this morning.. and in the craziness that is our life, he didn't make it.. .. It has been a long road to get him here.. finally. And I don't want to lose him.. We're both freaking out over the comment on the appointment that talks about filing it as abandoned if you don't show up for the appointment. Do you think they'll let him have his appointment if he goes in tomorrow morning ? Please advise..

He has the green card which is the conditional resident for two years.

Hi,,
My husband seems to have lost his passport. We have turned our 600 sq ft home upside down with no luck. We backtracked all the places where we had the passport last. We haven't found it. He does have his green card but is concerned about the visa and point of entry stamps he obviously doesn't have. He has to go for his aos next year.. We don't know what to do.. Please advise.. Thank you .

Hi, my name is Sandy and our quest began in November of 2012. We met on a website via messages. I never fathomed in a million years that a year later I'd be traveling 7000 miles to North Africa, Tunisia to marry. But I did, and we did on June 20th 2013 at the town hall. My father -in -law missed it due to his cab breaking down. We had two of his father's friends as witnesses. I stayed there for 14 days and then had to leave for home again.. without my Houcem. I wanted to write this to you all to tell you one thing.. it was worth the tears to have him here. There is not a moment in time where I regret where we are today.. I didn't make enough money so I tried for a sponsor, no luck. I ended up getting a 2nd job and worked that until I made what was needed.
We were also told we probably wouldn't get approved due to our age difference. He's here with me. It did get approved. Houcem made a scrapbook of all the western union receipts he had from me sending him money. We had letters from the first time he sent me snail mail. We had messages online. Skype logs, fb logs, phone records from my end, anything we shared or wrote , photos from skype, it's all important.
The biggest issue we had was port of entry in Chicago. He was detained 15 hrs and the airline refused to give me any information on his whereabouts. It was hell for me on my end.. and worse on his. They threatened to send him back to Tunisia. They threatened to put him in jail. There were 14 officers surrounding him, egging him on, pushing whatever button they could find to rile him up, hoping he'd snap I guess. He had to see an immigration judge who was an immigrant himself and thus approved him. It was a fight to get him here, but never did either of us give up.
That's what you all need to do.. fight for the right to have your spouse or family member with you. Just when you think you can't handle the stress anymore, take a deep breath and press on. It's work but it's worth it.
We are having a lot of firsts here. I am seeing the world I sometimes take for granted with a new set of eyes. He's had his first birthday here, first chocolate chip cookies, we actually celebrated our 2nd anniversary with him here on US soil.. and on our anniversary this past June, he received his green card in the mail. He now works for the same company I do. He's my best friend, the love of my life, my Arabian Knight..

My husband has his interview date set for her spousal visa. He noticed that the date I said I was divorced on the AOS is actually different from the actual divorce decree. There is no time to fix my error. And he is having a fit. Do you think there will be a big hassle with having the wrong date on the AOS ? And should I write a letter and have it notarized before he goes for his interview ?
Thanks..

They open at 7 am est.. I start calling at 6:58am est.. and then wait until the machine picks up.. hang up and redial. Each time I've called I've gotten in at 7:07am mere minutes.. usually without a wait time.. Good luck !

Ok.. am sliding this in here.. hope its okay.. We filed for a k-3 thru rapid visa.. our I-130 was approved back in June.. It went on to the NVC.. Rapid Visa told us there was nothing to worry about.. the K3 was going thru.. That was a lie.. It was dead in the water before it even left the building.. It went on to the NVC as a CR-1.. which now has me scrambling to find a joint sponsor. I was told just a few minutes ago by an agent at the NVC that the I-130 came to them as a CR-1...The I-134 that I filled out back when we started with RV.. useless.. Now I have to fill out a different form seeing it is no longer a K3....
