The birth certificate I got for myself said Duplicate, but I had all stamps and signatures, so this did not raise questions. I think, many countries have 'Duplicate' listed on re-issued documents. I am sure you will be fine.

EOS4ever, congratulations dear!!!!, I can't possibly tell how happy I am for you. I see this CC as a closed chapter of the book of your life- overall bad chapter but full of suspense, intense feelings and capable of bringing out the best and the worst in a person. But you made it! Chapter closed. Time to move on. I'm so happy for you and your family. Enjoy planning your travels and making your home with your hubbie. It is so very sad that a citizen of the country that is a pillar for equality, diversity, and democracy would even think this way. But to be quite open with all of you on VJ, the same thought has passed through my mind. Yes, this is what USCIS and NVC reduced us to, paranoid folk, some of us married yet living alone, some of us unable to enjoy the warmth a family holiday brings, because we carry the pain of a mother who is old, alone, across seven seas and eight lands.

I am in a similar situation with my mom. I listed all POE entries. She got her green card while in the US, so she didn't have immigrant visa number, just an A# and I listed that. Then I was as detailed as possible about her situation, entries in the US as a visitor and then as a LPR, since she was declined a visitor's visa in 2013, after she was not approved for returning PR. I am sure all this will come up during the interview. Best of luck and speedy CC!

I was at the airport yesterday meeting my in-laws, who came to visit us for a month. We waited for about an hour and I had a chance to people watch. I watched the eyes, and happy faces, and the smiles of people seeing their loved ones, and I couldnt help it but get teary eyed. This too will happen to all of us very soon: we will take a rush trip to the airport to pick up our husbands, wives, mothers, and maybe just maybe the joy we feel while hugging them for a first time will heal the pain we feel now

I got the : we don't have a range of dates we are working on, but it takes 60 days bla- bla-bla... I get more accurate info from my VJ family then from the people whose paycheck we pay with our fees.

Checklist question: On the line with NVC; got through at the 3rd dial. Today I am calling to find out more info on a checklist I received yesterday that says they have received my DS230 and will review it when I send them the civil documents for the applicant. I sent the IV packet on August 8th, so this checklist makes no sense to me...Has anyone received this kind of checklist?

Not sure if anyone helped you out, but here is my two cents. The vaccination question is asking for your vaccination records that you would have had from your birth and up. At the medical exam, the MD will determine if you need additional vaccinations and/or booster shots to bring you up-to-date and up-to-US standard. I answered this questions: Yes, because I can provide my vaccination record and/or get the needed shots at the medical. Your answer: " I DID NOT RECIEVE ANY VACCINATION:.. is very ambiguous and you may have to add an explanation. Some religions do not allow children to be vaccinated, so if it is against your belief system you may have to state it.

There is a DS 260 exemplar that may help you. I've attached the link to the PDF. I had to refer to it on few occasions.

What will I do if I didn’t have VJ blog to read? My job, you say!?! How dare, you!

I admit, I have been growing a bit tired of reading VJ posts day after day, only because there is no moving forward with CC and advancing scan dates. 07/11 is all I have been seeing for more than a week now. So just for kicks and giggles, I decided to look up reviews posted by ex-employees of NVC on Indeed.com. Below is the link. Of course, we all expect a sweat shop, but some of the reviews reek of racism referring to our loved ones as “desperate people trying to immigrate to America.” I’m petitioning for my elderly mother, the only family member I have, who for over a year is waiting to be reunited with her only child. Desperate to live in America? Not at all. Wanting to live with what is left of her family. Heck yeah! But those schmucks at NVC don’t see our loved ones as family severed from us and awaiting to be reunited.
Well, that’s my gripe for the week. I feel even more depressed than I was few minutes ago. Check out the link if/when you get bored. Love ya all!

It will not delay your case if your expedite does not get approved. If I were you, I will request an expedite right away. I hope your health improves very very soon. Good luck!

Reading your post samreen23 and really wanting to share a dream I had: I dreamt that a person at NVC told me interview is scheduled for September 10th. and I quickly asked: "This year?" and I woke up.

Hi, I have been lurking around this group for some time. My NOA1 was May 2013. Is there anyone else that is still trudging through this process from that far back? Looking at the spreadsheets it looks like no one is left from the summer. I have had no RFE or checklists and still I think I am way behind everyone else. Anyone else still out there?

OMG! This pic TOTALLY made my day!!!! and I was feeling down because of a call I got from the congressman's office that had nothing remotely encouraging for me: my AOS checklist was received 7/21 and is not yet scanned, IV is not yet invoiced....30 business days are up tomorrow on the DS-261!!!!!

This is my 3rd and hopefully last NVC tread. I am so unreasonably hopeful. Case Complete wishes to all of you!

Word of advise so no one does the same mistake as I did. I filled out DS261 on 5/12 and then on 6/11 I went back into the form and did not do any changes but hit submit again. Apparently, that reset the date on the form so now on their end it shows as submitted on 6/11. I was told I should expect IV invoice around 7/12, or 30 days after I submitted the stupid form. The woman I spoke with made me wanna cry....At least, you folks, don't do what I did.

How come some people have DS261 complete and accepted on the same day and some are told there is a 30 business day review period? I am still waiting on a IV invoice which should come after DS261 is accepted, right? I completed DS261 on 5/12. Still waiting....
