  1. I also don't want to "black out" comments, it looks like one is trying hiding something.

Did you just pick like one or two days from each month?

Rather go with too much info than too little - I would print out some of your conversations.

I didn't know about this app myself until you mentioned it - will the embassy/consulate accept the results as accurate?

Exactly, a couple of pages from each month, highlights from when one of us achieved something, that sort of thing. I wasn't really bothered though about what they saw in terms of the content, considering that you essentially waive the right to privacy when you initiate the process!

  2. So, in your opinion, do you think it would be ok to use a copy of just the message count page?

In my personal opinion, no, but please bear in mind that I am very overly cautious (at least as far as this process is concerned).

The reason I don't think so is because although it displays a high number of messages, it doesn't establish the frequency of the messages over a specific time period - thus proving an ongoing, established relationship. I know it would be unfeasible to send tens of thousands of messages over a very short period of time, but it wouldn't be impossible. I chose portions of conversation from each month of our relationship over a two year period to demonstrate the length of time we had been speaking and involved with each other.

  3. My fiance and I will be using different types of evidence of ongoing relationship such as:

    • Skype logs
    • Western Union Emails - showing money sent to beneficiary.
    • Gift receipt emails - showing gifts such as flowers sent to beneficiary.
    • Facebook Relationship page. (shows when we became friends on FB)
    • Facebook Engagement Announcement.
And of course the Met in Person evidence used with the original I-129f application, (I only visited her once) - Photos, Passport stamp(s), Hotel Receipts, Flight Receipt, Itinerary, etc.

We also want to use Facebook messages, but we have over 65,000 messages for the past year. Not all of them are actual messages, they contain stickers as well. It would be very difficult to sift through these 65,000 messages, but there is an app page on Facebook that shows the total message count of the people you message with.

My question is, would it be sufficient enough to include a copy of the page with just the message count as evidence of an ongoing relationship instead of a log of the actual messages?

I remember reading somewhere when I was preparing our petition last year that they don't need to know the content of the messages; just the frequency to establish there is an ongoing relationship.

Our Facebook chat log was in excess of 3,000 pages, so we cut it down to 30 pages from different time periods. We left the content in (because we thought, however deluded, that that would make us seem super serious about our intentions).

  4. Scan date January 5th 2015, after waiting more than 80 days, i called NVC today and the rude representative told me i will receive a checklist but whats the checklist they don't have any information on that yet!:cry::cry:

Don't have any idea how long they gonna take to just issue that checklist now! And then another 60 days wait ! OMG i cant take it :crying::crying::crying:

Took forever in my case for everything!! 40+ days to issue me a case number at NVC, 80+ days to review AOS and don't know how many days for the checklist now!

That's awful - I'm so sorry to hear that. Try calling back and speaking to someone else to see if they can find out what the problem is. When I found out about mine the email followed about 12 hours later. That way you can get ahead of the curve and get your new package sent off. If things keep going the way they are at the moment I don't think you'll be waiting for the full 60 days.

  5. Ugh what I wouldn't do for a CC this week. Husband has plane tickets to fly here on April 23rd for a week. We both decided if we got a CC soon and got an interview date instead, losing that money on a plane ticket and not coming would be so worth it! IF big IF i were to get a CC this week or next week, how does the interview date set up work? Like I see zero people in here or any other forums that are awaiting a CC or Visa interview in Amsterdam. When would I expect a interview April? May?

Same situation here. Can't see any other users with a CC or awaiting an interview date from the UK. That said, we have to remember not everyone updates their timelines accurately or signs up to spreadsheet tracking projects like the one ariani set up here. The quickest I've seen so far (not DCF or expedited) was around three weeks. I'd maybe go with late April or early May as a conservative estimate.

I forgot to mention that the operator that confirmed our CC yesterday was the same one that two days later called us all liars and told us we wouldn't receive it until at least April 16th... that's karma!

Ill wait it off till this friday..if by then i get no surprise, i will take action.

Make sure to keep us updated.

  6. My scan date was on january 20, and I still havent received a CC. Its well past the 60 day mark. Im so stressed. It pains me everytime my son on skypes ask me when he will see me again. I say "soon", but "soon" cant be close enough.

I'm so sorry to hear that. We were talking earlier about how unfair it is they seem to skip over some applications completely. Have you called and asked to speak to a supervisor yet? Contacting state representatives might be a good course of action too.

Case Complete as of this morning. Saw 3 N/A. Scan date of 2nd CL was 02/18/2015 for my son´s AOS. OMG finally :dancing::dancing::dancing:

    Congratulations!
  7. Via email.. I think thats my interview letter I can use it to get medical.. I don't have to wait until I get it through regular mail rt!

Thanks so much. I'm just reorganising all my documents now to make sure I'm ready. I plan to call and schedule my medical today for as soon as I can and once that's complete, email the embassy and try and pull my interview forward. My police certificate expires on May the 27th and replacing it would be difficult.

  8. Quick update:

    Original scan: 2/17

Received checklist by email today (3/25) (36 days!)

Issue: missed box 10 in part 6 (sum of incomes from parts 5-9)

I anticipated this checklist and already sent the corrected I864 on Friday 3/20 and it was supposed to be delivered by Monday 3/23. Haven't received a new scan date email yet.

Hope the checklist gets reviewed in 30days but I doubt it.

I'm sorry to hear that. At least you anticipated it and got the package out early. You've saved yourself some time there.

Congratulations Chim, I'm truly happy for you! Please don't let the following "rant" take away from your happiness...so it totally infuriates me to see Nvc ccing people who have applied well after many of us have been waiting! ? I mean really! Some still waiting since what?...Jan 5th at least! I'm waiting for a simple one page document to be reviewed, how can they pass this and others replies to their cc's or apps or whatever and go through a whole app that was just received only 36 days prior...Nvc, you need to get it together like NOW!! This is becoming so unfair! (Sorry, I suppose this should have been on the "rant" thread) just had to come out! ?

JennyLu, I feel quite selfish for expecting a case complete today when there are others such as yourself with earlier scan dates that have been completely overlooked. I truly wish there was some way we could bring it to their attention without them assuming that we're lying. If for any reason my case is completed prior to yours I would be more than happy to share my case number with you to use as evidence, if you wanted to write to them and claim an oversight. I don't know if it would help, but it's something.

EDIT: And just after typing this, I check CEAC and have three N/As. My wife is on the phone now getting it confirmed. Scan date 02/17.

  9. Well..... I figure they are actually telling the truth when they say "everything is dealt with on a FI/FO basis..." The catch is, it's not the total truth.....

Somewhere in the wiki/Faqs/something there was a Q&A with someone who used to be a cog in the system. He said the files are stacked into a box them put on a shelf.... they are then *supposed* to be taken chronologically - but the files within each box are likely dealt with "first in / first out".... so while it's awesome seeing all these recent way-under-60 day completions, until a lot more roll in I'm thinking there may be a chance some reviewers grabbed those boxes ahead of other older ones - or something like that......

    Best wishes to all!!

I will really cheer when we see the EP filers CC's come in faster!!!

That would make a lot of sense. I'm remaining optimistic; it looks like February approvals have been coming in for at least the past ten days now. Unless they're just consistently taking the wrong boxes off of the shelf...

  10. Ok, so i answered no,and this came up

Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you?

    What now? Yes or no

Thank you all so much for helping. I am all alone and doing this on my own,and honest to God I cannot imagine what would i do if I had not found VJ.

Remember - you are answering this from the perspective of the beneficiary, not the petitioner. The answer is no, because you (the spouse) are already a USC.

  11. hahah exactly why I am momentarily banning myself from calling anymore because I don't want to have to say "YOU ARE LIEING TO ME"

They obviously confirm CC's to people all day with February scan dates but then tell me they are running behind the 60 days and that people aren't finding out until after 60 days. The reps are not as dumb as some might give them credit for. They do this probably 8 hours a day and know the trends going on. So to me it's a blatant lie to my face, i mean ear. I can't understand it. Just say the processing times vary and we are working our best to complete the case, that is it.

The only sense I can make of it is that they're comfortably within their 60 day processing window for the majority of cases but don't want to admit that; because presumably if they did someone above them would ask them to reduce their target and put them under pressure again.

They definitely don't process first in first out. I'd love to know why.

  12. I know there are few others like myself with January dates (paper filers) who have been active on here and have not been reviewed: Young_Love_WA , visausa90 , you guess . Likely just on a slower reviewers desk, but I don't even try to understand the discrepancies or methods at NVC anymore.

This is exactly what my wife and I thought, but when we asked the operators say that EVERYTHING is dealt with on a first-in, first-out basis.

  13. Thank you very much for the info. It's such a shame we don't have one here, you'd think they'd at least have one in Cardiff! I've travelled to London once on bus after leaving here at around 5am and got there pretty early so I think I should be able to get home the same day. Will definitely check out those sites!

If it helps, the nearest one I could find that wasn't bank-breaking (the embassy is conveniently located in one of the most expensive hotel districts in London) was the Raddison Blu Edwardian Sussex. I managed to find a room for about £99.

You're welcome - good luck with the rest of the process and let us know if you need any further help.

  14. Ariani on the first list of scans (one my names on), is it a mixture of paper scan and electronic scan? Just kinda wondering about all the inbetween names whether they are paper, electronic, perhaps checklist and/or just didnt report back in to say they got CC.

The last tab has EP only so you can compare usernames on the two. Most of the blanks with February scan dates are unfortunately EP filers. I think your assumption that some people simply don't report back is sound. That's why I don't 100% trust VJ timelines. What you have to remember is that the majority of people that join the forum do so because they have problematic cases which obviously come with delays, or are unsure of the correct process to follow in the first instance. When you throw those users processing times into the all the statistical data that we have, it inflates the average times and gives false expectations. I keep that in mind and it gives me optimism that I'll be there before the data tells me I will be.

Still, doesn't stop me banging the refresh button on CEAC.

  15. There's a question on the DS 260 form which has brought me to the point of wanting to pull my hair out :help:

    Question is below..

Is your spouse immigrating to the U.S. with you?

I'am a USC and live in the United States. My husband lives in the Dominican Republic. I will be attending the interview with my husband at the time of the interview and I will he will be entering the united states with me. My question is the following, do i answer yes or no?. This is a fairly tricky question. Can someone help please?. Any answer, help, and/or suggestion will be greatly appreciated.

Familiasevilla is right. You're entering your husbands country (presumably under the legal status of a tourist) and returning to your home country; not emigrating.
  16. I'm in the same boat - up in mid-Wales just outside of Aberaeron in the middle of nowhere patiently waiting for my visa to process. You'll have to catch a train from Cardiff, but I don't think that's too taxing, it should be direct. You might even be able to get one early enough to avoid having to stay overnight, but the advice is usually to arrive at the embassy around 7:00am regardless of your appointment time.

Have a look at the Trainline.com for advanced fares which should get you a discount and sites like Trivago for cheap hotels around Marble Arch.

  17. I wish I would have known you can write the case number on the top of the documents sent to NVC

I was under the impression you weren't allowed to write on them..

FamiliaSevilla----Ask if instead of mailing the NVC a copy of the marriage certificate, you can instead take the original personally to the interview. Its worth a try.

I didn't write it on the I-864 or I-864a forms I submitted, but I did on all the copies of civil and financial documents. The way I see it is there are far too many reported instances of documents going missing. I figured if the case number was written on them, there'd be a higher chance of them being reunited with the rest of our case. That said, I don't think it's essential.
