Terri Sellay reacted to Cathi in Denied. Please help
a 20 year age difference is NOT a reason for denial. I am 21 years older than my husband and age was never an issue, EVER. We have several other so called red flags and we have never had any rfe's, and our process has gone as smooth as smooth can be from the day we sent his I-130 petition up to and including removing conditions, and he has now applied for citizenship. Someone cannot be denied based on age alone, it's discrimination, and there are many many couples here with a big age difference who have been successful. Just because it isn't the social norm for a woman to be much older and a lot of people cringe at the notion, there is noting wrong with it. If a man dates or marries a much younger woman, they get high fives and a pat on the back, when the tables are turned we are called cradle robbers and perverts. Enough with the double standards people, it's 2015.
To the OP, I am very sorry to hear of his denial. Could you tell us about what evidence you sent? For some reason they weren't convinced and maybe we can help you figure out where to go from here. Trying to appeal a K-1 denial is fruitless, the petition will be sent back to USCIS where it most likely expire. You can always marry and try for a CR-1, but you will still have to overcome and address the reason for the denial of the K-1, it's not as simple as just getting married and re-applying. Once again, I am sorry.

It shouldn't be a problem, but since you're doing spouse visa which takes more than a year to get, if I was him I'll do my military service and get rid of it ( it's just 12 months now). That's my own opinion, right now I cannot do it cuz I don't have 12 months.
Good luck

Terri Sellay reacted to Cathi in Unusual situation- filing for k-1 visa.. fiance is my cousin
Cousin marriage is not legal in the majority of states. Before making a decision you need to make sure it's legal in the state you plan to marry in.

You are ready to take this large step of Marrying your first cousin ?, you might want to read a little about Genetics Diseases before you take this step of marrying your first cousin.
Do not be offended.
Wish you luck in your marriage

Terri Sellay reacted to K & V in June 2015 I-130 Filers
I'll begin calling the NVC this week to see if they have received our case from the CSC, then later ask for our case number and IIN. We're praying for a smooth and quick NVC process... as well as more approved I-130s for other June filers.

Terri Sellay reacted to Shauna&Wael in Have I just messed up?
You're under a microscope of the US government, and you decided it's perfectly fine to smoke up 2 days before your medical? What was your rationale?
-
Terri Sellay reacted to Shauna&Wael in CR-1 to IR-1 is it automatic?
Oh lord it's gonna be more than a party. I might drink myself to death. Lol just kidding!

If California is so ahead on processing, why aren't they transferring applications from Nebraska and TX to CA? Since those apparently seem to be the two slowest or backuped centers. It just makes no sense to have all these people wait like crazy when that would cut wait time for NOA2 in literally half..

Congrats to all those recently approved. It seems like csc is starting to approve those applications submitted June. Very glad. Can't wait to move back to California and live life again.

And congratulations to aeh85 and K & V!

Terri & Salim, our status message said the same thing as you are seeing after we received our NOA1 and remained that way until we received the NOA2 message last night.
Once you receive your NOA2 notice the message will change.

Let's hope and pray that more NOA2s are coming soon for everyone.

Terri Sellay reacted to lostinblue in United Airlines Is Being Boycotted After 'Islamophobic' Treatment Of Muslim University Chaplain Tahera Ahmad
Tahera Ahmad, Muslim Diet Coke Whiner, Tried to Censor Ayaan Hirsi Ali
If you read the news, then you already know that the greatest tragedy of the decade was the unfathomably sad story of Tahera Ahmad, a Muslim activist who wanted an unopened Diet Coke, but didn’t get one.
Why? According to her, it’s Islamophobia. Either that or aliens.
Meanwhile Tahera Ahmad was pushing a boycott of Ayaan Hirsi Ali by retweeting a call that she not be honored at Brandeis.
Ali is a woman who genuinely suffered and overcame more serious challenges than a lack of Diet Coke on a plane.
Here are some of the challenges that Ayaan Hirsi Ali and Tahera Ahmad overcame in their lives.
Ayaan Hirsi Ali – was subjected to female genital mutilation
Tahera Ahmad – didn’t get a diet coke on a plane
Ayaan Hirsi Ali – realized that the religion she had been raised in preached violence and oppression leading her to transform her understanding of her life
Tahera Ahmad – didn’t get a diet coke on a plane
Ayaan Hirsi Ali – faced multiple death threats
Tahera Ahmad – didn’t get a diet coke on a plane
And yet you just know that a few months from now Tahera Ahmad will be invited to the White House, she’ll receive an honorary degree that was denied to Ayaan Hirsi Ali and a golden ticket from United Airlines.
And maybe a lifetime supply of Diet Coke.
This is what Muslim Privilege looks like. Tahera Ahmad reminds us of the levels of entitlement accorded to Muslim women while those women who choose to reject its teachings are terrorized, threatened and murdered.
And when they aren’t, the left treats them like unwanted garbage while celebrating the martyrdom of Tahera Ahmad and her Diet Coke.
