I am Filing I-751 for removing conditions for my wife . I have apartment lease document in my name but my wife is named as an occupant adult and its mentioned on last page of the lease with signature

Will it help to send that document as name us on the last page ?

Should I send full document or only first and last page?

1) For Applying SSN do we need actual plastic green card . Our green card will come in 2-3 weeks

Finally my wife is in US. Her POE was smooth .. I want to take this oppurtunity to thank dwheels & Saylin for all the help during our process. They are doing an excellent job in helping everybody ,It was due to Saylins wiki that helped me and prevented me from making so many mistakes during NVC process. I also want to thank the other visajourney members dilmera.solenta Sukie for the guidance and help during the process . It was due to them that I could correct my one mistake in my AOS and resend the whole packet straight away instead of NVC pointing out the mistake......VISA JOURNEYERS ROCK !! Good Luck to everyone ....Process is moving fast as compared to what was the situation 2 months back......Wishing and Praying for everyone and hope everybody gets done with this process soon

Needed some quick information from you about POE and Customs at JFK
I was reading that first time immigrants are allowed to bring jewellery etc duty free if it has been with you for more than a year in your native country ...Is that true ? and do you need to show reciepts for that ?

Also if you are bringing jewellery and you want duty free do you need to put their value in Vistors columns(The total value of articles that will remain in US ):

you don't have to pay duty on your possessions when immigrating. You do need to indicate the value of your possessions.

Thank you and good luck to you. My interview was on Friday, November 7 and when I checked next day the CEAC website status was "issued." My passport was ready to pickup in my city on November 12. For the POE at JFK, I took a flight from Hyd, India to DXB and from DXB to JFK. I had read previously about a preclearance location at DXB, but there was no preclearance at DXB. When I landed at JFK, an airport official called out first-time visitors to go one way, I asked even if immigrants are supposed to be going that way and he was sort of clueless and told me yes, so I joined that line. My husband then found out it was the visitors' line. He called me to the CBP section where immigrants should head. I was led to a room where a family of three and a lady waited. There was only one officer and he asked me to get my immigrant envelope and passport ready. He dealt with the family of three and the lady and during that time two more families came, three more officers came and the officer dealing with me was supposed to get off of his shift. He called me, snapped my photo and then left to check on something I guess. One of the other family that came after me was done and then an officer remarked to the other officers what was up with me, that I had been there too long. He took my signature, my finger print and said I was good to go. Then the first officer got back. My husband didn't have his passport stamped so he was going back to the area where he was supposed to get his stamp, but the helpful officer made someone at a counter nearby to get it done. Very helpful person. No hassles at POE except for when we had our bags checked. The officer was courteous. We had quite a bit of stuff with us and he checked all of it. Trolleys cost $6, so it would be better for anyone immigrating to the US to have some cash handy.

hey everybody,

back after a long time and here to report I'm done with my immigration journey. I had my interview Nov 7 (I've posted a review of it) and I was approved at the end of it. I paid the ELIS fee and did my POE on November 29, 2014, at JFK. Everything was smooth and easy. I can't seem to update my timeline though.

Congrats Dilmera !! Finally your jouney is over ..Good Luck !! How much time did it take for you to get the passport back with visa after interview?

My interview is on dec 5 . I have got the interview letter by email but status still shows AT NVC. Is it normal? thanks

Just finished with my interview at the Consulate. I answered all questions correctly, at the end of the interview she said she said she needs more time to review the case file and then she gave me a contact form and asked me to go and fill it and drop it off at a submission center or scan it to them. I asked her how long will it take them to complete the process, she said it depends on how soon i can quickly submit the form.

**** All thru the interview, the CO didn't type anything, instead she was writing it down on a piece of paper. I wonder why

Did they ask you to submit any more documents OR they just said they want more time to review....what all did they ask you in the interview?

Was reading this forum and seeing so many case completes so thought I should also check ceac website and saw AOS change to N/A .....called NVC and Just got a case complete.....Good Luck to everyone and hope everyone gets CC asap

as you have made 2 mistakes I would suggest to send the AOS packet again...Try to send it asap

Can somebody help me pleaseeee!

I have seen this question asked so many times the past two days but not answered.

I am still waiting for n answer and decided to send the question again.

I am waiting for a case complete and realized I made a mistake on my AOS i864 form

I got the household size correct, 2 but part 5 of 8 where it asks to add lines 1 to 7 to enter the household size, I put 0. (Even though in checked I am sponsoring the principal immigrant in part 2)

So after ticking 1 for myself and 1 if married and putting 0 in enter the number you entered on line 7 of part 3, i still got a household size of 2. I am very sure I will get a checklist and I am wondering please if anyone can assist me.

Should I send all documents together with updated i864 or just an updated i864?

Is it better to send it now or wait for a checklist n assume since I got the household size right it shouldn't be a problem?

Also part 6 question 13

I did not check it because I included my three most recent tax returns and not just the recent. (Is that right)?

This process is so draining I have had 2 miscarriages already and now I can't travel to even see my husband just because of the fear of banning flights from west Africa. Even though where I come from there is no Ebola (Ivory Coast).

It all depends when your last scan date is ...if its still faraway then its smart to sent the documents again (I preferred sending the whole AOS packet again if you have all the documents handy) . If your last scan date is few days away I will suggest taking a chance that they dont notice it(there are less chances that they will not notce it)

You have to check that option also as you are teelling them there that you have filled the returns and also attached the most recent one also you must have filles the 13.a...b..c section

also in 14 they just mention 2nd and 3rd return and most recent is also required

Our last scan date was August 20 and we got a checklist yesterday!

1. Birth and Marriage certificates from incorrect issuing authority. Anyone heard of this?? We got them from the Civil Records office here in Managua and sent the originals. The woman at NVC this morning said we would need a supervisor review. Does anyone know how long this will take? She couldn't give me a timeframe.

2. Question 13 1a. on my joint sponsor's financial info ... we put gross adjusted income when it should have been just gross income. I'm kicking myself for that!

3. They're asking for my 2013 tax transcript. I sent a copy of the form that I had sent to the IRS but apparently that wasn't sufficient. They need the official transcript.

3) Yes you need official tax transcript...you can get it online on IRS website

One more question, did you staple your documents? For example, did you staple the entire AOS form? Staple each IRS Transcript/return, etc...? I know it's a silly question but you never know with them, that's why!

Yes i stapled AOS form and also stapled individual returns.

.i did not use staple in IV packet

QUESTION RE IV PACKAGE:

I was looking through the Document Cover Sheet they provided (this is not the Bar-Coded Sheet), and noticed that it says to put the docs in the order they have them. So for me, first comes Birth Certificate and then Marriage Certificate, Photos, and then at the bottom it says to include Translations.

Does this mean that any translations (I am including for Marriage & Birth Certificate) should not be attached to the certified birth certificate and marriage certificate right? The translations should be placed on their own after the photographs right?

I'm just scared that they will see the certificates, assume there are no translations and give me a checklist. Anyone who has had to use this document cover sheet, can you enlighten me?

Its always safe to attach Translations along with the originals . It makes it easier for them to review...Thats how sent it ...I put All Originals and Translations together and then All Photocopies. It will be cumbersome for reviewer to know which translation is for which certificate

what was the mistake second time you made? which pages was missing? and I have 2011 and 2012 1040ez filled for that year it considered a adjusted gross income right? for 1040A I filled in 2013 year so that will be total income? without checklist we can send new form how they gone know that I made mistake and I send new one.becoz when they send checklist they send barcode cover sheet and all mistakes what we made and they want that back when response to checklist.

so I addressed my mistake right now can I send new AOS without checklist?

Another option is to sent the whole AOS packet again

Does anyone know if they delay reveiwing the AOS until they have received the IV package?

My situation is as follows:

- Sent AOS package scan date Aug 7.

- Waited for fee to be unlocked and paid until sending IV package.

- IV package scan date 9/24.

- 60 day letter received shortly thereafter.

I'm wondering if they should have reviewed the AOS package already and now will review the IV after the 60 days. I'm pretty scared about a checklist on my AOS, am I in the clear yet or no? Thanks in advance for any advice/similar experiences!I c

I checked with NVC and the operator was very specifc in his answer : He Told all packages and docs will reviewed together as 1 single packet to save time and the 60 days start from the date you sent the IV docs...

I had my interview on 7th Oct at Mumbai-India Embassy. CO said everything is fine and they gave 221(g) and ask me to submit those docs and passport in VFS dropbox. Then I submitted my Joint sponsor W2 2013 which mentioned in 221(g) to VFS on 8th Oct. Yesterday they delivered my package to embassy. CEAC status is AP and last updated status is 09 Oct. Now I am waiting for Visa Approval... Any one can help me .. Any experiences in this situation, How long they will take to issue visa.??

We have booked tickets one month before for 18th Oct..

This is surprising after you get your AOS accepted by NVC....Did they ask you any questions or docs about this during interview? I guess as its just 2 docs it should be pretty fast....Good Luck and be strong

NVC is reviewing both packages together now so the 60 days start when they recieve your IV package
