I am still confused about this so i am posting it again..

My last scan date for IV package is 8/27 but i submitted my DS-260 on 9/11, so in this case which date would the nvc consider as last scan date for 60 days...

Can somebody please help me with this...

9/11 will be your last scan date...NVC is reviewing both packages together now.

Yes, I spoke with an operator yesterday and today and both said that if more than one piece of mail waiting to be reviewed all would be reviewed on the most recent scan date. I also requested a supervisor to call me and I will confirm again when he/she does. My Iv scan is 8/8 and Aos checklist correction on 8/15 and on doc on 9/9. I was told nothing will be reviewed until 9/9. this could really prolong things for us if we were to get a checklist on our IV.

Exactly nvc is a mess...thats what you get if you follow the process...i dont understand if they can track packets then why not use the eatlier scan date the way they use for EP

Called NVC today... seems to be a slow day as I got through on the second try and only had to wait 20 minutes. Todd answered and sounded tired or bored. Our AOS packet was scanned August 4 and IV August 20. No update for us , but as I said, might be a good day to call!He

Has anybody got any of the packages approved lately OR Is NVC reviewing both packages with the later scan date ..for eg if your 1 package has scan date in aug and 2 package scan date sep ...both the packages will be reviewed in september? Please share your experiences..

That's sad Qbanita, post your checklist here so others can help you determine what it is asking and what corrections need to be made. Lawyer helped my case by bypassing the DS261 and saved me one month, but he made some mistakes on I-864 and thanks to this forum I caught them.

That was my first thought as well.

Men usually live to SOLVE problems. It is very VERY frustrating for us to hear about something if we cannot take an active part in it's solution. If we can't do something about it, we do our very best to forget about it and pretend it doesn't exist. It's how we cope with the stress.

With newlyweds, it just takes some time to learn each others boundaries on that. The man has to learn to grit his teeth, bite his tongue, and listen, just to listen, without any hope of a solution every being presented.

And the woman has to learn how much her hubby can listen to before he reaches saturation. It's a learning process.

Personal example: When I'm traveling for a few weeks at a time away from my wife, she needs to hear from me DAILY that I miss her, I'm thinking about her constantly, etc. - that's what she needs, and that's what I give her because I have learned it's what she needs. On the other hand, haha, my reality is, because I miss her and can't wait to see her again, I'm actually NOT thinking about her constantly. I do my best to forget about her during the day unless I actually have time to call her in that moment, since it's a problem i can't solve until my trip ends or i have time for a phone call. I love my wife, and I can't wait to get back to her. It's just the way each of us process the stress differently, and we're always learning more about our spouse

Thanks a ton for the quick reply. Another small hing that I wanted to confirm was Birth Certificate. Can i send 10th class passing certificate or do I have to send the original birth certificate? In case of latter, I may have to get it translated to English as the particulars have been filled in Hindi . Please advise.

You have to send original / certified birth cert and also the translation. 10th class passing certificate will not do as it will be rejected

What scan date is NVC processing nowdays..any ideas

I am getting nervous ...

While filing I-864EZ House Hold Size (filing for my wife) I had put 2 in the first line and rest of the fields empty. I had even checked with NVC operator and they told me to leave empty.

Can you get a checklist for leaving them empty..Do we have to put 0 all others..please clarify

Alright just making sure. Don't want another checklist just don't know why Nvc have us a checklist for that qs as well when it was fine before as well, only difference being I ask him to write 'n/a' in the qs where it asks if u r married. This time we put '0' instead.

I had checked with NVC and if you are filing for your spouse then you have included her in line1 you can leave the second line which says 16(B) if you are married blank..

Did you get checklisted for something else on 1864EZ along with this...I have not seen people get checklisted specifically for this

Got a checklist for AOS

They said we did not fill in our part 13 a 1 correctly. It asks for 2013 gross income. We filled in the total income as on the transcript. We filed an I864 with a I864A.

I'm very sure we filled it correctly and I'm shocked at the checklist!

Please suggest what I should do!

This depends on which tax form did you file return for ? 1040 or 1040EZ

1040 : Total Income

1040 EZ : Adjusted Gross Income

For me once fee status showed paid..the ds 260 link was available with 5 to 6 hrs....Call NVC and let them know your issue..and ds 261 shouldshow Completed

Hi all,

I submitted the DS-261 on 7/26, but between that time and waiting for the IV bill, my wife (beneficiary) mistakenly clicked on the DS-261 link but did not resubmit. As a result, the DS-261 status shows as "incomplete". I read here in the forums and called NVC and confirmed, and they said that as long as it was not resubmitted, the 30 business day counter would not be reset.

I found out by calling NVC that the DS-261 was reviewed and accepted on 9/4 and I received my IV bill on 9/10. So looks like there was no problem clicking on the link (phew). I mailed the IV package docs on 9/12.

My question, though, is how long after the IV bill has been paid should I have to wait for the DS-260 available to fill online? I'm still seeing a "Not started" status with no link to complete the form. I called NVC and they said it should be available about 3-4 business days after IV bill is marked as "Paid." I called a second time after 3-4 business days and then they said they don't know if anything is wrong and that we should wait (he didn't even offer a timeframe).

Has this happened to anyone? The DS-261 remains "Incomplete" and you didn't have the ability to submit the DS-260?

If you leave the address empty you get a checklist where its mentioned that please put N/A and dont leave columns empty. People who have been checklisted for leaving it empty have sent the form back by writing N/A and have been ok. So dont worry if you have written N/A

This process is actually not helpful.They will consider the last scan date and will have a checklist after that.Just assume that your IV scan date was sep 5 and AOS scan date was july 22,in this situation they gotta review both packages on Nov 5th - it will delay the process in case of you have a checklist for AOS. Right? I hope so...

Hello everyone, one question: looking at the screen shots for the DS261 application, I noticed that one of the first questions is "Beneficiary's id number". Where do I get this if I still didn't get any notice from NVC yet? I got my account number and IIN number today, but what is a "beneficiary id number"? Also, if I happen to get that, is it wise to start the DS-261 without notice from NVC? Thanks for the answers!

Per USPS, my AOS & IV Package was delivered to NVC today, sept 18th ! How long is it taking nowadays for NVC to scan both packages?

Also when I call NVC what verbage do I use to get the scan date for each package? I remember reading somewhere here that NVC agents dont understand when they get asked about scan date. Thoughts/ suggestions plz?

You should get an email from NVC regarding reciept of your documents where they will mention date they recieve your docs...thats your scan date

Its taking around 50-60 days to review packages

I don't understand why do NVC representatives always give contradicting Information. When I was about to send my IV package, I asked 3 different representatives and all asked me to send just one PCC from local passport office. When further I mentioned that their website asks one from local/district police as well, one rep came up with an answer, "the website is not updated". I don't trust NVC representative but still I am on safer side because my passport was re- issued recently (added my spouse name to get PCC which is mandatory according to PSKs in Punjab.) So my police verification was done recently, apparently I din't need another police verification because it was already done at the time of reissue of my passport under tatkal scheme. So good thing was, my PCC was issued in a day.

Is there any specific reason that you need to send PCC from both the PSK and police station? I have seen other fellow Indian members sending only one PCC from PSK without any problem. I am getting confused. I have got PCC only from PSK.

oh ok..You are right! we have submitted this application to SP directly and this has sent to our local police station by SP for checking if there is any criminal records ,A police officer came to my home to investigate (they sent back the reports to SP).based on this we got pcc from SP in a week time

Thanks! I actually got an email from NVC a few minutes ago stating they received my documents on Sept. 18th & that it will take 60days for them to review them. But the date of the letter is Sept. 19th. So which one is the "Scan Date"?

You should try calling, remember not always does the status change to "N/A" in the CEAC Website. GOOD LUCK!!

Just need a clarification

We don't need to send all three yrs of tax transcripts right? It's just optional?

Also, as far as the not leaving anything blank and putting NA everywhere, are ppl also putting that in the area where it asks if u had a preparer ?

Preparers address and such? Leave blank or write NA there as well. Btw I am doing the 864EZ

Question in DS-260 : Have you attended any educational institutions at secondary level or above

For this question for school time should we write from Class 10 & Class 12 th both

One quick question regarding ds-260
1) US visa issued in 2010...Travelled to US in 2010 with visa number 123 got finished in 2011
2) applied another tourist visa in 2012 which I never used for travelling which is currently valid

In DS - 260 where its asks : Have you ever been issued a US visa and asked about last US visa issued?
Should I provide visa detail of 1) or 2)



The above questions is asked after I provide my US last visit details which I did on my 1) visa
