mjardine got a reaction from mstee81 in January 2015 Interviews
Hi All! After nearly a year, we are finally done with this process!! My husband had his interview in Sydney yesterday and said it was a breeze and he was approved on the spot! Woooooo!!! Thank you to everyone here for their support, help, and heart. We did this without a lawyer and because of Visa Journey, we had no hiccups or checklists what so ever. Best of luck to all those still waiting, your turn will come (and it feels SO good!). Happy Holidays everyone

Thanks! Of course, my AOS scan date was 8/7 and my IV scan date was 9/24. No checklists (and no lawyer)! My priority date is 1/28.

Sigh. Thanks everyone for the answers. This process is incredibly disheartening - we followed all the steps the way we were instructed and are now being basically penalized for it.

Just got through to NVC for the first time (yes, I am taking the "wait for an email" approach) and only had to wait about 10 minutes to get connected. I didn't catch the name of the person I spoke with, but she was very nice and efficient. She seemed like she knew her stuff - very confident. I asked if my AOS package had arrived (was delivered yesterday according to FedEx) and she confirmed that they just received it. She also mentioned that my DS-261 had not yet been reviewed (submitted it on 7/29). She said, "before I give you a time frame, I want you to know that we are very backed up and working extra hours to try and reduce this backup as quickly as possible". Call me crazy, but I actually beileve her. She seemed genuinely sorry and not defensive.
I also asked about sending in the civil documents - IV package. She told me, without hesitating, that I could send this in at any time and just use the AOS cover sheet. She informed me that everything but the passport copy had to be originals and suggested that the applicant bring a photo copy of the docs to the interview and request the originals back (by replacing them with the copies). She also said to make sure to make copies of everything before sending them. I'm leaning towards sending the IV package in before being invoiced and will continue to read other people's replies/experiences with this in the next week or so.
Hope everyone has a great day! I'm on team NordicTim and trying to stay positive
