Thanks A&M21, but I have oath on Fri and my trip is booked for next Thur!. Less than a week...
There are no passport agencies where I can walk in and get my passport back the same day, anywhere close to where I live...I think the closest is in Houston or Dallas, which would be another plane trip, and that's very difficult for me right now with 3 small kids...
So, I did a bit of research and found a couple of expediting agencies online that would carry the passport for me... Some offer 48 hrs, even 24 hrs... I paid $460 just for the service (not including the $170 for the actual passport!) They said there's no guarantee, but as long as I submit everything correctly, there's a good chance that I can get it on time...
My family is a family of 5 so if I change my ticket dates, I'm likely going to be penalized far more than $460, so it was actually cheaper to do this...
Oh goodie goodie! I hope this works out for you! That's a lot of money! Keep us updated!

Thank u! .... Just so excited to have this over with... And anxious.... I have a trip planned for next week Thur... I need a miracle to get my US passport back in time for it....
Thank u!!!!
Make an appointment at a passport agency and they will process it within 8 days! Some cases I've read even same day is available with proof of travel!
Note: passport acceptance facility and passport a gen you are two different places! Look up the closes one to you on the department of state website! Good luck!

We placed you in line for your oath ceremony and will send you a notice for Receipt Number NBC**********, with the date, time, and location of your oath ceremony. You should receive your notice within 30 days of its mailing date. Please follow the instructions in the notice. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.
I am not sure if that means they send me a notice for an appointment or not. Please help.
Massawi, this means you are in line to be scheduled for your oath! Once you are scheduled, your status will once again update with a "we have scheduled for your oath ceremony." That's when you'll get a letter within 7 days
Goodluck!

Hello i am a october filer i have my oath coming up next week in west palm . wanted to know how much it is to apply for passport after oath ceremony at the oath location and if they offer expedited option (2-3 weeks)
Hey! Congrats on your upcoming oath! I applied for expedited passport and here is why I can tell you!
Passport Book $110
Execution Fee $25
Expedite Fee $60
Overnight to Passport Agency $23.7something
Overnigjt Back $15.45
Grand Total $234.2
From the day I sent the application until arrival, it took a total of 9 days. They will return your certificate afterwards though! So don't panic! If it wasn't because I have a family emergency, I would not have spent all that money on the passport application! But I hope my 2 cents can help you decide!

Thank you everyone! So even through I am a September filer, most of my Memphis peeps are here so I will share my timeline with you.
Nebraska Service Center
Memphis, TN Fiel Office
09-21-16 sent package
09-27-16 priority date
10-19-16 biometrics apt
10-25-16 in line for interview
04-04-17 interview
05-18-17 oath ceremony
My journey took a total of 239 days or 8 months.
The ceremony was small 60 people but only 58 attended + family members. The judge was friendly, and everything went smooth--before I knew it I was an amaerican!
Best of luck to everyone and my Memphis peeps. Also, I did ask the immigration officer at the ceremony and it turns out that we keep the ANumbee forever.

When I filed, I submitted the e-notification form and not once throughout the whole process did I ever get a text message or email. Sometimes they just don't use it or the carried will not push it through. It's normal, I would say.

Hi!! Does anyone know if the a-number stays with us forever? I was looking at an i130 for a relative in the future and it asks if we have an a-number. I just don't know if after the oath we still use that #.

It 's been a month now since they said he was recomending me.
Guess I just want it done and over with
I know the feeling. But in all reality it could very well take 120 days! I hope that is not your case, and that you get an answer very soon!

Hey guys,
I had my interview / civics test on April 10th and was told to expect a letter for the oath ceremony
Approx how long before I can expect to receive this letter?
Depends on your final check/approval. I got notified two weeks after interview. Hang in there!

Hey all,
I did a search and came up empty. So this is our story. My wife is applying for citizenship (obviously, I'm posting here lol). She had her biometrics appointment on the 18th of April, went, and everything went fine. On the 20th of April her status changed online to In Line. Then today in the mail she got another biometrics notification with a date of April 26th and showing that the notice was from the 20th? The difference is that this notification came from the local field office instead of the NBC. Now we applied for our case to be expedited due to my work taking us abroad. I called USCIS and they didn't really have an explanation and said to ignore it. My worry is that since we applied for an expedite they meant to send an interview date notice but sent it on the wrong form? My questions is has anyone gotten two biometric notices when they didn't miss or reschedule the first one?
What do you think?
Thanks!
If it came from the field office I would keep the appointment. If you're able to make it go and let them tell you wether they need prints or not!

Thank you Maria and oc_citizen...that is what I was thinking but didn't want to mess it up.
However, another question...last one I hope...
On the same letter for what to bring with you, it has the following:
- This notice (Oath letter)...
- Your permanent resident card
- all reentry permits or refugee travel documents...
- 'Any other documents USCIS issued to you'....what would that be? I don't believe they are talking about the previous letters sent (i.e. NOA 1s, NOA 2s, etc.).
Thank you in advance.
Other documents such as work authorization card, advance parole card, USCIS Optional practical training permit, conditional green card (2-year green card), etc.
Hope this answers your question.

Good luck tomorrow!
Also good luck to A&M21 in Memphis... if you get a minute, you might want to tell them to get a wriggle on for me and cdneh!
Thank you! I'm so nervous! I have a hard time with the two questions about dates... but I am confident it will turn out okay if I set my mind to it.
I'll definitely ask why it's taking so long for everyone!
