  1. December 17ths isn't 5.5 months...that's 5.5 months. December 17th is my birthday. They are way further behind. So, this means that when I hit 5 months, I won't be able to do anything about it because they're a bunch of a-holes. Great...I'm never going to be getting married at this rate...

Yeah I know they don't match, I just wanted to point out that they changed it.

the december 17 date is as of May 2014. december 17, 2013 - may 31, 2014 is 5.5 months. kind of frustrating that they release data a month late. we never know what date they are "really" working.

  2. So USCIS UPDATED THE WEBSITE and as of July 8th, TSC says they are processing December 17th now', so no more 5 months processing time, This now legitimately says they are behind :( oh boy!

it definitely sucks that they are so far behind...but i am glad that they are at least admitting it now.

i wonder if this will prevent people from getting help from their senators at the 5 month mark. since all january filers are now "within the published processing time".

edit: It looks like the December 17, 2013 processing date is as of May 2014. I feel like they have made a lot of progress since then. At least on VJ,

we were seeing a good number of approvals every week for Dec/Jan filers during the month of June.

  3. So senator involvement is key ? how do you find out which senator to call / mail ?

Thank you so much if you can help - those of you who have done this.

and congrats to those who've been approved !!!!!

    (L)(F):star:

it looks like you are from virgina (or your fiance is from virgina). if you google "virgina senators" it will show you your options. they should have instructions on their websites for submitting an inquiry for help with a federal agency (look under something like "services" or "constituent services"). If they have a privacy form you can download on their website - download it and send it, along with a copy of your NOA1 document, to the fax number or address provided. then wait a day or two and confirm they received it. and stay on top of them about following up.

  4. We COULDNT complete a service request ....

oh, sorry..i misread your original message. i'm not sure of all the details of your situation - but i hope you are able to receive assistance soon. not being able to file a service request after 6 months is not fair. although, being at TSC...you know first hand that this process can be very unfair at times. keep trying!!

  5. congrats !!! we have 176 days from Noa1...and we couldnt filed any service request until now.

CONGRATS AGAIN !!! so happy for you !

thank you!! :) just curious...what type of service request did you file? with the USCIS or a senator? i know some people were having trouble getting help from their senator...even after the 5 month mark. i hope that you will hear something soon!

    YAY!!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! #SenatorsGetThingsDone@TSC!

i agree! i really think the senator inquiries are getting it done. there have been a few cases of people filing an online service request and receiving an approval. but it was unclear if the request actually did something or if they were just a "lucky one" whose case was already being reviewed.

and thanks for the congratulations. :)

  6. This is what I did and I got my approval as well. I just put in 12/01/13 as the recieve date in on my e-request on 6/22, and got my NOA2 yesterday 6/30.

when i filed a service request - i waited about 2.5 weeks for a response (still no NOA2).

i wonder if it was the service request that triggered your NOA2. did you receive a response to the service request prior to your NOA2? maybe your case was already being reviewed.

  7. I contacted both of my senators and congresswoman a week ago. Just heard back from Senator Markey's office. They were able to get a response back from USCIS that our case will be assigned to an officer for review and we should hear back from them within 30 days. I was also told that once case is pulled, TSC doesn't take too long with their response. Keeping my fingers crossed....

i received the same response via my senator about two weeks ago and there has been no progress with my case. i don't mean to discourage you...there doesn't seem to be much order in the way TSC approves petitions sometimes :) so maybe you will hear something soon. there could be some sort of hold up with my petition.

after i received that message - i was hoping i'd hear something within the next week as that seemed to be the experience of others who received a similar update. but alas...nothing. maybe this week. ;)

  8. SOOOO! I just called USCIS! We cant do a service request until AFTER they work on the cases with our dates. SOOOO if Texas is working on December 3rd...and your case (like mine) is January 9th....you can't fill in a service request until they are processing January 10th and you didn't hear anything. THIS IS B%#$@#$@#!!!!!! So basically, we can wait until December 2014??????

yeah, it sucks. they use their internal process time to determine if filers are "outside of normal processing time" (not the processing time they post on their website). i called last monday and they told me i needed to wait another 30 days before i could place a service request. waiting another 30 days will put me at 7 months. it's craziness. that's why it seems like contacting a senator or congressman is the best route at this point. since you are supposed to be able to do that at 5 months.

  9. and 15,000 represents the total number petitions...not just those at TSC. I'm sure the people at CSC aren't interesting in signing a petition that aims to increase their ~1 month processing time.

it sucks that we are essentially powerless in this situation. i applaud anyone who is taking action to try to make a difference (instead of just complaining)...but honestly, it seems like the best thing we can do is contact our senator and/or the director of the USCIS with our complaints.

  10. Thank you for the encouragement, Masenko. It can be difficult to keep a positive attitude while waiting for the NOA2 – especially after passing the “5 month” point. I’m a week away from 6 months and was told this week that I needed to wait “another 30 days” before a USCIS customer service representative could give me any additional information about my case. My senator inquired on my behalf and received a response from TSC – but I feel like there are so many people going that route that it doesn’t really speed things up anymore.

However, that being said – I definitely don’t feel hopeless. I think this process has been more difficult for my fiancé (beneficiary). He is in the position of knowing that he is moving here but not having any definite dates. People are always asking him about moving and wedding plans – I think he gets tired of not being able to give a definite answer. And out of the two of us…he is definitely the one more driven by emotions.

  11. Senator Bob Corker has been helpful but congressman's Steve Cohen's office hasn't.

Maybe it was just the person I got on the phone, she was telling me how nothing can be done or looked into, Fiancé visas take up to a year or two.. she didn't even try to be nice. Telling me that there may be a problem about me that's why we don't have an answer n i explained her it's about the petitioner's background now not mine + none of us has a criminal record or anything negativ smh FreeRudeness. However, the one I had on the phone from the senator's office told me they can look into it.

The senator seems to be the one to ask help and not the congressman. Well from what I've experienced so far lol

okay, good. glad to hear that you were able to get in contact with someone who can help. the person you initially spoke to does not appear to have a good understanding of the fiance visa process. and there is no need to be so rude! not everyone in Tennessee is like that. :)

  12. over a week ago we called uscis requesting an expedite, they told us we'd get a letter last friday/saturday. Nothing

I just called the Congressman's office in Memphis and honestly, I'm at the edge of giving up. I'm crying like a baby over all the things she told me.. my fiancé will call once he'll be of work but honestly after this call I don't want to go to the US anymore. Jeez, if there was a way my man could come here this is what we'd have done. Oh and yea, nothing can or will be done. Apparently congressman's office or senator can't ask for anything.

I'm really sorry but I've got a bitter taste thinking bout moving to Memphis... it's kinda hard to swallow. I really don't want to go there no more. If we do go through this whole prossess I will be counting the days till we get to leave memphis. If that's how you get treated there...!!! smh

I am from Tennessee and have had a positive experience with the senator's office I contacted (Senator Alexander). There was another member here (the one from December that jfgk mentioned) that received assistance from Senator Corker's office and said that they were very helpful. I am not sure who you contacted - but from my own experience and what i have read from other members...both senator's from Tennessee have been helpful with USICS inquiries.

Who did you call in Memphis? and what was the reason they could not assist you?

  13. i heard back from my senator's office this morning. here is the email they forwarded to me:

    Greetings

Thank you for your letter on behalf of your constituent, (petitioner) regarding the pending I-129F Petition for Fiancé.

A request has been made to have this file pulled and to be sent to the I-129F supervisor. Once received, it will be assigned to an officer.

Thank you for your inquiry and please do not hesitate to contact us again if you have further questions regarding this case.

    (Congressional only)

    | Texas Service Center, Congressional Liaison | DHS | USCIS | SCOPS

this email was sent to my senator's office earlier this week. after 5.5 months my petition had not even been assigned to an officer! hoping this means i'll be approved before i hit the 6 month mark.

  14. I called USCIS again today! Got a man this time and he said he can't give me an exact time when I can file for an inquiry as I am "not" outside processing time. I played dumb n told him it says 5 months for processing time thus I am indeed outside that time and he said as of June 3rd TSC was processing Dec 3rd so making it still within the 5 months and I should call back when the processing time of June 3rd changes online to ask what new date they are working on. These people are playing games with our lives mannn I'm dying here!!!!!

isn't dec 3rd to june 3rd six months?? haha.

  15. Nope, the beneficiary is from Austria. :/

okay, i see. i thought you meant you saw two that were recently approved. but maybe the one on Igor's list is the same one you saw mentioned in the Aprils thread.

Igor's list does show two approvals april approvals for TSC. one approved on 6/13 (Philippines) and a second on 6/16 (Austria).

i believe we also had one january filer from TSC that was approved in less than 60 days. and it turned out just to be a fluke (obviously - because most of us are still waiting :)). my guess is that it's the same with this april filer.

  16. I saw on TSC April filers topic that an April filer got approved! And I checked Igor's List today and saw another April approval, and I made sure to look at their timelines and posts and stuff, as I suspected that they might be from CSC but they really are from TSC. What does this mean?? I don't understand what TSC is doing, why are they approving April filers when there are January and even Decembers filers waiting???

I believe one of the April filers has a beneficiary in the Philippines - which could explain why they are already approved.

  17. Been following this thread for a few days now and I figured I must ask my stupid question now.... We filed back in January, And I sent it to Texas (that's the only place to send it to, or that's what I was told, right?) so do the petitions get dispersed between Texas and California? I live in Vermont... Sorry this is a real dumb question, but after reading about all this California stuff and seeing how they are all getting processed so much faster it is making me wonder and super frustrated! Thanks!

    hi!

yes, you are correct...everyone sends their application to the texas lockbox. from there they are routed to either the texas service center (different from the texas lockbox) or the california service center. the routing is generally based on the state of residence of the petitioner. east coast and southern states go to texas.
