Interview --> administrative processing
They said they need to check with their lawyer because they aren't sure if it's legal for us to get married in DC but live in Louisiana.
Reason is, she is 17 and in Louisiana her father has to be here to consent vs in DC (where my family lives) they accept written consent. I checked the Louisiana laws and we are all good!
Hope this resolves quickly

YAY that is GREAT, very happy for you. What will be your plans now?
btw we got our interview re-scheduled from 1/25 to TOMORROW!!! pray for us. Do they keep your passport if approved? give you a slip? I hope you don't mind elaborating on that point a bit.
Again Congrats on being the first approval for September

As promised ill keep updating the status of cases RECEIVED on August 31st using the case tracker app. There is a total of 180 K1 applicants with that RECEIVED date (which as some have pointed out gives a NOA1 of about Sep 2nd)
There was major activity today bringing to total approvals to 23/180 but sadly there was alot of RFEs 16 to be exact !
The good news is the processing is moving right along and those with later received dates are speeding closer to a NOA2. hope this helps

SuperSaiyanVisa got a reaction from Loki_Go in How can I marry a Syrian refugee?
I second what is in bold.
First off i want to welcome my Syrian friend to the forum, there aren't many of us here. Its good to have you and i hope you stay connected on this forum. Everyone here has great insight just ask and learn!
Second off i want to try and shed light on this whole "helping" and "arranged marriage" discussion for those that aren't from the Middle East. Many of us once established academically or financially or in a career begin to look for a spouse, most decide to find a spouse from their native country (because the language and shared culture give them so much in common) So usually the person takes some time off and flies there. Once there his family usually sets him up on a few dates with available single ladies. They get a chance to talk and know one another, if there is no chemistry they call it off and look again. If chemistry sparks and a relationship develops they usually get engaged rather soon then plan for an early or late wedding. This is the classic situation.
Now that Syrians in the US cannot go back to Syria, we can only fly to neighboring countries and look for a spouse there. That being said everyone outside the country is a refugee and will need financial and emotional support now more than ever.
I agree with the people that contributed to this topic, your original post makes it read like fraud. I advise you to choose your words more carefully not for our sake but for the sake of the consular reviewing your case. As for the specifics on the matter and your big question can i marry a Syrian refugee? I'm sure this site will provide you all the answers and its good that you are reading up ahead.
Stay in touch and I wish you the very best.

SuperSaiyanVisa got a reaction from Amhara in How can I marry a Syrian refugee?
This will be my last post on this topic its getting pretty stupid.
If you read what i said you will see i am saying the same thing that you are saying. His question and title of the topic is "How can I marry a Syrian refugee?" then his subquestions are what is the fastest way...ect....
I answered his first question: Yes
and to the people on the thread that are ignorant "he wants to treat her like a slave, marry a naive refugee" "how can you marry someone you still haven't meet" " etc etc etc. I gave a brief explanation of the Syrian situation and the process and how reasonable it is. You are the one fixated on saying arranged marriages are not bone fide relationships.
Lets agree that NEW relationships are not bone fide

SuperSaiyanVisa got a reaction from dwheels76 in K-1 Visa Extreme Hardship Waiver for Syria
Im a US citizen of Syrian origin, Im currently trying to bring my Syrian Fiancee to the US. Here are some things to think about.
1) The US embassy in Syria is closed! so he won't get a visa from syria.
2) Im meeting with my fiancée in Lebanon or Jordan or Turkey, we haven't decided.
3) Seems like sooner or later he is going to have to bribe someone to get out, so just have him do it now and go into one of those countries, go see him there, then apply for him while he waits there.
4) Its a good idea you meet your fiancee in person, this isn't about paper work. its the person you are going to spend the rest of your life with.
5) Best of luck, i know if feels impossible!!! I'm right there with you

SuperSaiyanVisa reacted to dwheels76 in Expand of "bonifide Marriage"
These are suggestions. Doesnt mean you have to have any or all. Because most of us do not live together we don't have joint anything usually they aren't expecting that. what most supply is Chats, IM's Skype, l;etters how ever you communicate. Phone records, carsd letters and affidavits from family and friends.
Most important is time spent together show that and of course pics with friends and family.
#5 are statements friends or family wroite up saying they know of your relationship. Not required just a suggestion. MOsy CO's could careless about these.
#6 is what iut says and ll I listed above.
You have to think that you are trying to convince a total stranger that you have a real bonafide marriage so what evidence will you submit to prove that?
