  1. Just wanted to update. We had the 2 appts for separate days for the EAD and AOS and got both done at once in less than 30min. The longest part was my husband forgot his phone number for the paperwork and had to walk outside to turn his cell on and look it up.

So far though only the 1765 has changed on the website and is in the Initial Review phase. The other 1485 is still set on acceptance.

  2. We think this may have scared bio-mom enough to where she will stop allowing the visits, but we are now installing apps to record all Skype calls. We have always known that his brother is violent. The brother is severely autistic and just had a tumor in his brain removed that was making him more aggressive. The stepfather banned my husbands mother from getting the brother the help he needs and he's roughly iq wise around age 9-10 in a 29yr old body. He has hurt my stepdaughter before and we have witnesses who overheard him cursing her out one day when my husband left vent on to run to check the mail and the brother came in and was yelling at her. I'm still pushing for a Cps call or at least the lawyer, but he wants bio-mom to step up and be the mother she demanded she could be.

  3. My husband came to the US and we agreed with his daughter's mother about that she would care for their child until she could not anymore (roughly 4yrs) and we would get settled here and be in the best possible shape with both working jobs and a house when she came. I'm concerned bc the mother is violating the parenting contract and the child is reporting being possibly harmed on visits to the grandparents. Would Aussie CHild Protective services pay attention if we call since we aren't there and can't get there. He JUST today got the Noa1 for the 485 and his job app. Ideas?i know it's not the usual but I'm worried.

  4. I just realized, the Nashville Application Support Center we'll have to go to for my husband's biometrics when it comes in, is literally in the same complex as the Nashville main branch of where I work. I was there like a week ago for training, and drove right by the USCIS place as you have to circle around back to get to the office. At least when the letters come I'll know exactly where I'm going.

  5. Hello, I'm trying to search this topic but I keep running into the opposite of my question. My husband came over on K1 and were sending off the AOS, EAD etc Tuesday. We were wondering what to do if the EAD doesn't get here before his Australian Drivers License expires on Dec 23. Do we need to plan on having it renewed and have family ship it here? I understand it's a ways off, but just trying to be proactive. Thanks

  6. Hello all,

I'm a Dec flier who just got married this Sat and I'm filling out the adjustment paperwork. Due to my job and all of the clinical licenses I'd have to get changed, for the time being we were just going to keep using my last name. Has anyone tried going through the adjustment paperwork period and submitted everything with the name not changed? Also FYI, SAVEYOUR NOA2 in a secure place! I thought mine was fine and when we went to go find it, nope and we tore the house apart tonight with no luck.

  7. WE GOT APPROVED!!!!! They asked him stuff about my job, if he'd met my family, why he hadn't met my parents (long story) but he said well they're dicks to her which made the male interviewer laugh. Where we would be living, what I do for a living, timeline of our relationship and who in my family/friends has he met. But WERE APPROVED!!!! I was about to have a heart attack waiting since it took forever, he got there too early so they kept telling him to come back in an hr until basically it was time for his interview. I'll get more details later but omg we're approved!!!

  8. My fiance is a bit confused about this option for visa delivery. Is this something he needs to set up when he pays through the Australian Post prior to his interview or is it taken care of at the consulate and he will pay for it there? He's just trying to sort out his side of things and I'm the one that's been handling the paperwork thus far so it's got him nervous.

  9. grats! Things are moving so fast (well, relatively, compared to the NOA2 lol) I am watching your info like a hawk, bc I am waiting for the NVC case number/email. It has been 2 weeks since NOA2. So I am trying to give it till next week before calling to find out the case number. Best of luck for the interview! And I hope travel can happen soon after. :)

Thank you! We're using our airline miles so that puts us at booking on July 8th which should give them enough time to get his visa to him. We have all of the documents already and I sent more than enough for my part of the packet.

  10. Our email came this morning at 1am after I had just turned the laptop off to go read lol. Our interview is June 24 at 10:45am. Now I know, I know, they say don't buy the tickets until the visa is in hand. But.... Is there a chance they will have it back to him by July 3 or so for a flight home? I work a 50+ hr job and since I was awesome to my boss for working yesterday she's agreed to let me have July 3 & 4th. Thoughts?

  11. Hello all,

I know there was the case a few days ago where someone said they had looked for the email for days, and it was in the spam box the whole time. But how long was the "whole time"? I received the letter from NVC advising me to have my fiance fill out the DS-160 in the mail Thursday, and the visa package arrived in Sydney on Friday. I know the DS-160 doesn't trigger the interview email, my question is more when to expect it...hopefully this week? I assume going on what I've read, we'll be set for the last Tuesday in June which we want as early as possible obviously. So when did ya'lls emails come in and how far out was the interview?

  12. Razspaz >> If you have your case number from the NVC, you can check the status of your case on the U.S. Dept. of State website:

    https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?eQs=o/iS8zDpeAKjMWCuebHqOw==

I think when it says "Ready," that means it has arrived at the U.S. Consulate in Sydney.

Crymwest >> As VicAus said, the instructions say to not have the documents in folders / envelopes, so I would advise against putting it in a 3-ring binder. Perhaps you use post-it notes for tabs? That's what I'm doing. (Our interview is this coming Tuesday.) It's a lot of paperwork, especially the evidence the for the I-134, and I want to make it as easy to read as possible.

That's a good idea as well. I have plenty of post it notes and those tabs from labeling books in grad school

Razspaz, ditto above^ ours says ready and then some stuff about the interview process. I just got in the mail the letter from NVC about having my fiance fill out the DS-160

  13. What do you think about arranging all of the stuff we have to send for them to take to the consulate in a 3ring binder? I wanted to create one for my fiance with indexes and the papers 3hole punched as I've seen other people talk about doing that. But then I balked at well darn what if they get pissy about this being 3hole punched. I think it would be easy to present, and easier to read through

  14. Sorry for the slow response. Ditto what VicAus said. No need to send anything to the Consulate pre-interview. The Packet 3 letter that I received asked for everything that VicAus listed, and it says to bring all that stuff to the interview.
