  1. What all was required in your packet doing it the new way? Ours just got posted from NVC today and I'm unfortunately still waiting on my HR letter from work so I'll be a few days behind on sending my packet to him. I'm just wanting to make sure I have everything on my end covered to send which is the I-134 (including bank letters, work letter, paycheck stub, and recent '13 taxes) and then ongoing proof of the relationship (print outs of phonecalls and fb messages). Is it still the list posted on the consulate website http://canberra.usembassy.gov/fiance_niv_appl.html

  2. Last question for the night, how far back would you think is needed for proof of an ongoing relationship? I went to print off all the messages on fb between now and when he left in Dec and that's 35pgs even when I reduced it to georgia 10 and took out the spaces. I also have skype calls I can print off as well, so maybe shrink it down to 3mths or just edit out some so it's a brief look at Dec-May?

  3. http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Employment_Letter I found this but it feels a bit too skimpy. Also, it looks like bank letters are needed, so do I just go in and ask for one? My primary bank account I've had since I was 16 and has my grandparents on it, bc a) at the time I was underage and b) it has helped us with managing bills as a family due to me going through the cycles of being a broke teen, a broke college kid, a broke grad student, and finally a person who appears to make money but in reality pays a lot to student loans. Also, I pay most of their bills on a credit card to get airline miles for the upcoming trips to Oz for visiting his kid and family.

  4. Howdy ya'll,

I'm back and a bit confused as I remember finding all of these forms at like 3am after a long day at work and really should have jotted notes instead of trusting myself to sort it out. http://canberra.usembassy.gov/fiance_niv_appl.html is my list of things to do/send to him. Now I know I've seen on here I could use an i-9 as proof of employment, but that seems a bit much and would require a trip to another state as my supervisor said immediately that's something HR has to do. So what are you all thinking for the letter from my job? And if the recent tax documents are sent, does a letter from my bank need to go as well? Lastly, just curious but since I'm not married yet to him...does his daughter who is staying in Australia with her mom count as a dependent? Or is this I-134 just for me and him, and I don't list any dependents at all.

  5. Do you all think it would be fine to go ahead and start gathering all of the stuff for the affidavit of support??? It's sent to the NVC, and tbh I'd rather just have him have the packet ready so that when Syndey emails him for all of it he can immediately send it in. Or should I wait until I get the word that it's swimming to Australia as someone said?

  6. Sigh, nvm I think it's NVC either way but that wording of Dept OR NVC threw me off. I sympathize with you all, I want to toss all the fliers from Jan to April off a bridge, or rather the peon in the office that picked up their chart ahead of the ones from Oct, Nov, and Dec

Question for those further along, how are ya'll getting updates on your visa's status from NVC onwards? Is it still updating on the UCIS website?

  7. So I got this

"On May 6, 2014, we shipped this approved or re-affirmed case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly."

Da fuq is that? NVC??? The wording under it says "For approved applications/petitions, post-decision activity may include USCIS sending notification of the approved application/petition to the National Visa Center or the Department of State."

I'm confused, who am I supposted to be calling? and when? Bc I thought NOA2 meant it was already being sent to NVC

  8. omg its here! My noa2 notification text came at 7:46pm tonight. It literally happened right after we got some bad news about his mom, as in I got his message, went to text my grandma to tell her and it popped up. I was crying and having so many mixed emotions. He's been at his mom's bedside and it was 10am there and he's been there all night and the joy of "I'm coming home" was just so heavy for us both. I know we still have the rest of the stuff, but we're approved, this is happening!

Thank you all so much, I just can't tell you how much finding this community has helped me during this crazy time. I'll be back with my questions about phase two once I've slept and regained my sanity.

  9. Hope this NOA2 soon comes through, I will be 52 tomorrow, an my love turned 60 last month ( February ) an we are not getting any younger....

Happy Birthday! In some ways I wish I hadn't seen there was November filers, because now it makes me sad. I remember pouring over these pages, then I got the paperwork and it was just such a big thing to work on that we submitted it the Wed before Thanksgiving. I remember sitting that weekend with my fiance's at my family's various dinners saying oh he should be back by March! Because that was what we were seeing for Oct and Nov with the wicked fast turn around. Now I have nights were I'm so upset I didn't work harder to get those papers in faster. Today we had a disagreement because I'm freaking out about my job and he's saying he's still going to turn down any full time gigs on his end because why start a new job just to leave. The stress of waiting is putting almost more of a strain than anything else thus far. It's hard to keep those it'll be ok vibes going some days. I know it will, but it's just off in the distance for so many where other's are like racing by.

  10. I go back and forth with all of you where its one week of stalking the forums and the USCIS website, then a week of :( dude what the hell. I feel so jealous for those that have gotten approvals in Jan and even Feb!! I know all us TSC filers are right in there with the Nov batch and there's like 6 there waiting.....but really its like /facepalm so and so posts that yay I beat a new record of NOA2! I wish there was more transparency with the visa process. Like ok you're in the intitial review, does that mean we're still waiting on background checks or something to come in?? Do you feel there's an issue and that RFE is just waiting to be mailed? Where am I in a pile? Maybe if there was just a check off list of ok background check is in or pending yada yada.

I knew it was foolish to get my hopes up after seeing that flood of NOA2 approvals when I filed in Nov, but I'd like to be able to plan things ya know. He needs to know how much longer he has with his daughter there (she's staying with her mum and we'll get visits). He also needs to know how much longer he needs to expect to be working there and living there. We planned for the 5mths, so it'd be April/May, bbbbbbbbuuttt then again there's the dozen later fliers who will have their beloveds home way before then. Sorry for the semi rant, I'm just frustrated with the utter lack of control here

  11. No, we didn't call....not sure that it would really help.

What a nice Valentines gift, congrats on your NOA2's!!

    We are still on waiting...

Some hadn't gotten notification for their paperwork through the USCIS website/email/text so for the person who found out today maybe it saved them a few days on mail delivery. I don't know, seems worth a shot to see if something important like an RFE got lost and we didn't see an update.
