  1. Hi,

I had my CR1 interview. The CO told me that it is approved. I checked the status of my visa on the Ceac site and it says "Administrative Processing". The content written in it is "Your visa case is currently undergoing necessary administrative processing. This processing can take several weeks. Please follow any instructions provided by the Consular Officer at the time of your interview. If further information is needed, you will be contacted. If your visa application is approved, it will be processed and mailed/available within two business days. Under the U.S. Immigration and Nationality Act, Immigrant Visas for "Diversity Visas" cannot be issued after September 30th of the year in which you were selected to apply for a Diversity Visa. For example, entrants into the Diversity Visa Program in Fall of 2011 were selected for Diversity Visa 2012 Program, and selectees MUST apply and receive their visa prior to September 30, 2012 otherwise they lose eligibility to receive a Diversity Immigrant Visa, regardless of additional administrative processing. In addition, please note that some immigrant visas may not be able to be issued if the annual numerical limit for that category has been reached."

Can someone please help me and tell me whether this is the standard text or something to be worry about?

    Thanks and regards

Amarpreet; no one can help anyone with Administrative Processing. But in your case as you said that the CO said that you are APPROVED. so dont worry, it is normal that every case when approved goes from READY to ADMINISTRATIVE PROCESSING and then in a day or two it goes to ISSUED. keep on checking your status on CEAC and do tell us when you have a good news ;)

  2. Hi guys,

Another quick question about the post K1 approval stage...

I've heard that you need to book a return flight when travelling to the US on a K1 visa. Is this true or will a one way ticket do the job?

    Thanks

You do not need to make any bookings for your travel unless your passport with K1 is in your hands. I have read on one of their official website that "dont make any travel plans, or sell property etc before your visa confirmation"

  3. This is exactly what he did. He filled out an application, which the embassy forwarded to the UAE to have it done. This was done on 3/30/14, and they told my fiance that he should receive the certificate within 1-2 months.

It is now 5/28, 8 weeks from that time. And we have not heard anything back from the UAE about the certificate.

From my fiance's experience, the people who work at the embassy didn't even seem to want to help him. We at at a loss of what what to do.

He plans to visit the embassy AGAIN next Thursday to inquire about the status, but we feel we won't get an answer that we will like.

    This is beyond frustrating.

    good luck then :P

i remember there was a lady sitting for the next counter was also applying for a police clearance certificate for a friend of her. Her friend was not in the UAE but in CAnada and she needed the police clearance for applying citizenship in Canada. If your fiancee has a friend in here so he can help him... or you can try this but i really dont know how to collect certificate on this proceedure:

    if this can help you...

  4. K1 uae, does the nvc usually send the notice by mail or e mail to the petitioner? Thank you for the help.

NVC sends no notice... its the USCIS sends you notice that your case has been approved and forwarded to NVC this notice is called NOA 2 and then you neva know that when it goes out from NVC to the cencerned Embassy... But when your interview is scheduled the Embassy in Abu Dhabi will send an EMAIL to the petitioner mentioning date of interview and other requirments.

Dont forget to make your timeline :) its fun to see others timelines and sometime encouraging too ;)

  5. Thanks for the info K1 UAE, have you ever been experienced it before.for me giving atleast 1 or 2 months before the interview date is fine.what my concern is I need tine to gather all the docu they will be needed during interview, and also the k1 approved petition has expiry date.so im really dont know what to do now..

dont worry about the time span... the interviews usually have almost 2months of span between the day you recieve the letter and the day of interview...

if you go to the embassy website it says dont worry about the petition expiry as it gets refreshed itself if the embassy is slow in scheduling you... so relax...

  6. Hi everyone, just new in this site, can any body answer my concern, our k-1 fiancee visa has been approved, for example uscis approved our petition tjis month.and now they are forwarded the case to nvc.how many months do I should wait for my sched in abu dhabi for interview.thanks a lot for all the future info.

after the NOA2 wait for 20-30days for the embassy to recieve your case... embassy take a maximum of 20 days to send you interview date. Interview dates are sent in email to the petitioner... stating the date and required documents... and a list of physicans from where you have to get your medical done before the iterview... before doing anything else... i suggest to sit back and relax until you get that email..

    hope that helps

  7. Hi Hardrockangel! Which consulate will you be interviewed at? If in Manila, check out these instruction letter from USEM: http://photos.state.gov/libraries/manila/325288/packets/K1%20and%20K2%20Interview%20Preparation%20Instructions%20-%20English%20_updated%2004%20Feb%202014_.pdf

If you're currently in UAE, you might want to look into getting a police clearance while you're still there and also, if you have lived for 6 months or more in other countries as well, but I am not very familiar with that process. I think you need to correspond to the US embassy first for you to be able to request for one.

If you will be interviewed at UAE, you have to check the requirements in the US embassy in UAE website. I think it's either Dubai or Abu Dhabi, whichever is nearer to you. :)

To miss sweet cake, since i saw that you are from philippines same as me,but i live and work here in UAE,what exactly the requirements the US embassy asked you to bring during interview, please do help me to have some info,so while i'm wating for me to be scheduled, atleast i have gather all the possibly requirements that they may asked.thank you for your kind help.. :)

If you are in UAE and you have opted for the US embassy in UAE then your interview will be at the U.S embassy in abu Dhabi... You will not be scheduling your interview but the embassy will do. After the consluate recieves your case from NVC give it 20days and if everything is going good they will send you email mentioning the date of interview and the panel of physicians where you have to get your medical done... they will also ask you for Police Clearance certificate and all your relationship documents etc...

Better to wait for the interviiew and then start working on collecting documents because they usually give dates for interview 2 months ahead... pretty slow :ranting:

  8. NICOP (English ID) is required in some cases depending on if the USCIS asks for it or may be at some cases if you have a work visa. NICOP is specific to the country in which you will be residing for e.g if you are going to be residing in the US then it will be mentioned in the NICOP

  9. That is great Krikit; so i have to make arrangements now :)

just being curious where does this information on this link come from? is it taken from the embassy and being put here or its on users experience based?

Thanks guys you always help :)

  10. Hello - it definitely depends by country embassy. Of course they can enter the embassy, but at my interview, they wouldn't let fiances enter the actual immigration visa interview room.

You will probably get your answer, if you post this in the UAE specific forums.

It should be depending on country's embassy and posting it on country portal is a good sugestion but i think it goes automatically to the specific country portal whenever you post something because your profile is liked to it and it displays everything that you post in that country portal...

  11. Hello Friends;

I hope you all are doing good. My interview for K1 in US embassy Abu Dhabi is scheduled in June and this is the month when my fiancee and me were planning to spend vacation together. So is it possible that my fiancee (US citizen & Petitioner) can attend interview with me (benificiary) at the US embassy in Abu Dhabi? If yes then are there any positive and negative effects of it???

Thanks for your comments in advance :)
