  1. Well i took the test and passed it (of course) while i had my AOS just filled and had no NOA1. DMV issued me a temporary license based on my I-94. That temporary license was valid only till the validity of I-94. But i had my EAD before expiry of I-94 so showed them EAD and had my license in my mailbox the next week. This license is now good for one year till the EAD expiry.

  2. That's funny cause i have signed up for email updates as well and received no email about confirmation that my biometrics was taken :/

    you got the email how many days after the bio was done and what exactly the email said?

    Do you think I should go in the site of USCIS and ask for a request e-request about notice by mail or about case outside normal processing time?

    Negative; USCIS didn't notify me about biometrics appointment for biometrics been captured.

    USCIS Notified me only when my case was approved and that was 4 days after the biometrics were captured.

    when did you file your application? Has 90days passed? if not wait till 90days and then request for action of being outside normal processing time (reference USCIS website)

  3. I have the same problem for i485 and i130. Did you change your address? The address change gets associated with i485 and i130 only (i765 and i131 are bound on i485 so their status doesn't change.

    So the status of my applications is your address has been changed and after the website was upgraded nothing is displayed! I can only see that fancy "~My~" ...

    If you find a solution to that problem let me know please :)

    I called USCIS today they said that its problem because of the website upgrade and nothing else is wrong. Give them a call after 30 days if the problem continued. Moreover, I don't about others but they told me that Los Angeles county Field office is now working on the cases filed in April ... so mine was filled in beginning of sept so....

    Did you guys try making an account?

    It worked perfect till the website update.

  4. Glad to read that you finally got your EAD!! :) Sorry it took so long for it to be delivered to you! Must have been very stressful! Enjoy it now!! ^_^

    oh yeah it was hell stressing since my employer was waiting for me to start working. And the 1-800 helpline of USCIS always don't have enough information till they transfer you to tier 2 customer service which they rarely do.

  5. Hello friends;

    I am writing this keeping in mind that this might help and give patience to people who has the same situation in future.

    My EAD was approved on Oct 2 and was shipped to me on Oct 9. I had a change of address on my case but USCIS somehow sent it to my old address :ranting: . After moving from one Postal Office to the other it finally went back to the sender (USCIS) on Oct 24 and i was notified that postal office has returned your card call 1-800 number. I called up and gave them my address and then i got another update on Oct 27 that card has been shipped out but no tracking number this time. i called USCIS to get a tracking number but they didn't give me by saying that they don't have one yet (so this means its not yet shipped :protest: ). I tied to stay calm on kept on searching and reading :reading: topics with same situations and that made me in stress and cos most of them were either lost or it was not sent again to them for days weeks and months :wow: . :ot2: after a week of patiently stressing for the card i finally again called the USICS on Nov 3 and made them to connect me to Tier 2 customer service. after sometime i was connected to a lady who verified my details like name address etc and said i have tracking number for you are you ready to write i was already on USPS website to track it and soon i got the number from her i pressed the tracked button and it said Delivered :dancing::dancing: i ran towards my mailbox and after opening it i saw the letter from USCIS :dancing::dancing::dancing::dancing: and told her ok i have it and good bye :)

    I hope this topic will help other people in present and future to stay calm and do not waste time on calling to USPS and USCIS. only call USCIS at the right time.

  6. Hello friends;

    Once again i am here to seek your suggestion. here is my situation.

    "My EAD/AP was approved on Oct 3, 2014 and was due to be delivered to my address on Oct 11. Despite of changing my address on my case USCIS sent it to my old address :oops: anyways it was returned to USCIS and they notified me to update address which i already did :star: . On Oct 27, 2014 USCIS case status notifies that Card has been sent wait 30 days"

    I was in impression that i would get it in 2 days like other priority mails but its been a week so started searching VJ for same situations and that search made me worried :cry: . Other members had the same situations as well in 2006, 2008 2010 etc and most of the cases they waited 30 days but card didn't come so they called USCIS again and were told to wait 45 more days (strange) and in the end they were told to deposit fee for the card to be processed means their cards were somehow lost by USCIS :wow: .

    I have job offer waiting for me and i might lose my job offer if the same situation happened to me (God forbid) :protest: . Anyone can suggest what should be done in such a situation? Calling USCIS 1-800 number is waste of time :clock: and "Info Pass" made me and my laptop tired but there are no appointments.

    Since it is already approved but i dont have the card yet can my employer verify that i am allowed to work and can i start working???

    Thank you all in advance for your suggestions . :thumbs:

  7. Hey, guys,

    I've never posted on the forums before, but this is just getting ridiculous. I'm adjusting from a K1 visa, and we got the NOA1 on 08/15. On 08/27, I submitted a change of address to USCIS, on their website, and I got a confirmation letter shortly after. I did the biometrics on 09/02, and was thinking everything was going according to plan.

    Then, on 09/17, we got a notice that they had tried to send mail to our old address, and of course it was returned to USCIS. I saw it on the 25th and called them and, surprise, apparently they still had our old address on file. Asked them to please change it again, and to please send us whatever they had tried to send before to us again. Apparently they can't tell us what it is (RFE?), and we need to wait for 30 days to be able to ask them to send it again.

    Well, guess what? Today it's the 22nd, and we still have not received anything. This is so frustrating! I was expecting to have to sit for 3 months at home waiting for processing, but it seems it's going to be some 5 months, if we can get them to mail the package to us.

    Not sure there is anything else we could do here, but if anybody has any ideas, please let me know.

    Cheers!

    i am victom of same situation. But let me ask. How did you go through the change of address? did you select I485 and then selected I131 and I765 as affiliated cases with it? If yes, then this is the problem. You should do it seperately for I485 and then seperately for I131 and then separately for I765 and similarly you should receive confirmation for all the three separately in mail in your new address...

  8. Thanks for the heads up with the change of address tool, I was just about to go update with my new address..I understand your frustration so well and i really hope it gets back to you soon, we spend so much money and go through so much stress just to turn around and have USPS & USCIS be so careless with the most important parts of the process smh

    and to put cherry on the cake when you call USPS and tell them what happened to this mail with tracking # ____ they also go to usps.com and check the way you and me do and tells you the same message which you and me can read when i ask them yes i can see that i have given you a call to tell me where is this now they say we dont have any info... c'mon ...

  9. Okay guys this is what has happened to my EAD package that was shipped by USCIS:

    I changed my address with USCIS using the online change of address tool "DO NOT DO THIS. IT DOESN'T WORK AS IT DIDN'T WORK IN MY CASE" i spoke to USCIS and they said the address was still the old address whereas i changed it using the online change of address tool which didn't work :ranting::ranting: so i have changed my address with the USPS as well so i hope they will forward it my new address depending on their work policy. I went to the USPS post office and they said it was here on Sat OCT 11 but it couldn't be delivered to the address that's it goes back 200 miles :wow: to the USPS forwarding office and then it comes back to the local post office :wow: if the forwarding office thinks it appropriate if not then it will go back to the sender which is the USCIS in this case... :help:

    its nerve wrecking honestly :bonk::bonk::bonk:

  10. Start communicating with your post office and USPS customer service immediately and report the issue to see if you can get clarification on where it is and whats happening, before it turns up " missing " like mine apparently has.. hoping to hear some good news from you soon

    Hey what did you do to remedy it??? I will be start contact USPS customer service early morning and then the post office when it opens...

  11. When were your biometrics? A couple September filers got their EAD/AP approved I think. But none got AOS appointment letter yet. The process of EAD/AP takes 2 to 3 months in average so we just have to keep being patient! :clock:

    I'm sorry! That sucks. Have you tried to get in touch with USPS?

    You know what the actual thing that sucks is that i had been waiting whole day and then at 5:30pm they updated the status of the delivery that you mail was scanned at 9:01am and was forwarded to a different location and by the time when they updated the status of the mail online it was already too late for me to contact USPS. and today its Coloumbus days so its off... :ranting:

    My assumption "I moved to a new address and changed my address using online tool at the USCIS website and got email notification for that as well... so now i think that USCIS might have sent my package to my previous address :oops: " at the same time a did a change of address at the local post office too which has been effective since the next business day so by this forwarded status i am assuming they USPS might forward it to my new address fingers crossed till tomorrow....

  12. Wohooooo!!! Did they send you emails about all these changes or you have to keep checking uscis website??

    Yeah everything was emailed :)

    Congrats!!!

    They have mailed my EAD but no tracking number? It only says that they mailed it directly to the address that they have on file. Will this update more later for tracking number? I mean we did not get any email from USCIS, i just keep on checking it online.

    Wowww your and my case are head to head

  13. Well luckily enough my biometrics appointment is my birthday...and the hubs works around there so...ha. Lunchtime with the hubby. I can handle that ;)

    Provided however, they don't send him on any far away roadcalls lol.

    k1 UAE - do you already have your ssn then? Or how did that work at the dmv?

    My plan us get ead/ap, apply for ssn then book the test (kinda stressed about doing a test. It's been so long. And thinking in miles and yards isn't going to help...c'mon I've been driving in Canada for how many years now? Only accident was I got rear ended once...) anyway. It is what it is.

    well SSN can be applied on the basis of your passport with visa, entry stamp and valid I-94. I applied on 5th day of landing on the U.S soil and it arrived in mailbox on 7th day of the date I applied.

    DMV issued me temporary license valid for a month on the basis of the licenses I hold from other countries. It was valid for one month in which I had to pass my behind the wheel test. I passed behind the wheel test a couple of weeks ago but they again gave me another temporary license which is valid till my I-94 is valid. and they will only issue me a permanent license when I show that EAD/AP. Documents required:

    - passport with visa and entry stamp

    -SSN

    -I-94

    Good luck :)
