Hello There , asking for a friend ... Because her 30days in US is almost over. They got married already , but the MArriage Certificate is not yet available . Does she need to include a letter Explaining about the MArriage Certificate together with the License?? ThankYou soo Much ...

In my case i did not send any letter of explaination. I just had marriage license attached and kept at the back of my mind that i might get an RFE for marriage certificate but i didn't get any RFE and case was processed based on marriage license.

  2. woww... Finally GC in hand. my status got updated to card mailed on 07/25 whereas, i had the card in my hand on 07/29. They didn't give me any tracking number for the mail so i had to call them and spoke to tier 2 and they gave me the tracking number for it. with this being said my journey of Adjustment of status is over. Next step ROC in Apr 2017.

I also went to SSA office to remove condition from my Social Security Card on basis of my GC and i will receive new card in 2 weeks they said.

I wish you all the best in your journeys :) and VISA JOURNEY you ROCK...

  3. My online case status was updated to the following:

On July 25, 2015, we mailed your new card for Receipt Number XXXXXXXXXXX, to the address you gave us. If you do not receive your card by August 24, 2015, please go to www.uscis.gov/erequest to request that we send your new card to you. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addreschange to give us your new mailing address.

It's been pretty much 3 weeks from the welcome notice (no rfes, infopass, uscisfacebook/twitter handle posts). All the best to others waiting.

Wow, just got 2 emails this afternoon from USCIS 3 hours AFTER received my green card in mail. .

    This is what it says:

There has been a recent processing action taken on your case.

    Receipt Number: MSC149xxxxxxx

Application Type: I485, APPLICATION TO REGISTER PERMANENT RESIDENCE OR TO ADJUST STATUS

Your Case Status: Card/ Document Production

On July 25, 2015, the Post Office delivered your new card for Receipt Number MSC149xxxxxxx, to the address that you gave us. The tracking number assigned is #DCN. You can use your tracking number at www.USPS.com in the Quick Tools Tracking section. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give us your new mailing address.

This step applies to applications that result in an applicant receiving a card (such as a "green card") or other document (such as a naturalization certificate, employment authorization document, travel document, or advance parole). Applications will be in this step from the time the order to produce the card/document is given until the card/document is produced and mailed to the applicant. You can expect to receive your card/document within 30 days of the approval of your application. If you do not receive your document, please contact our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

    • Log-in to your myUSCIS account to view your case history and understand what you can expect to happen next on your case.
    • Current processing times can be found on the USCIS website at under Check Processing Times.

Note: Don't get confused with #DCN tracking number. If you received the information like this then just go to USCIS and type in your MSC number. The tracking number will appeared there. But for me, it is not important anymore because I've already received my green card before the tracking number shows up on my USCIS online status.

My status was also updated, it says On July 25, 2015 we mailed your card to the address we have on file. If you do not receive the card by Aug 24, 2015, contact USCIS so we can send you new card.

But no tracking number so i believe its not yet mailed and might be in the process of being mailed.

  4. Thanks for coming back to me with such positive reply :) my USCIS office is in Baltimore i guess coz i live in Maryland ! But I have sent my new medical exam to CAHTSWORTH IN CALIFORNIA ..

What is the official page of the USCIS ? I hope that my complain there will do me good the same way it did to you :)

Ahlan wa Sahlan to Chatsworth USCIS office .

Have you been to any info pass? Have you submitted any inquiry requests??? I know the USCIS office in Chatsworth is pretty overloaded but i was with the same office and i got my approval early this month. I think you need to get on top of your case make calls to USCIS, submit inquiries one after another, obudsmen is not a bad option to try either, go for info passes again and again and ask them when was my case last worked on they are able to tell you that too.

  5. Congratulation Man, happy for you :). I got RFE and they need me to redo the medical examination and to resend a copy of our marriage certificate. (This is non sense). But nothing to do about it. I scheduled a medical exam and will send them back the sealed envelope soon. Hopefully they will approve and finish this waiting dilemma.

    Congrats

Thanks man; i hope you get yours soon. But looking at what they are requesting from you, one thing is very clear that USCIS doesn't have any specific rules to play the game. they may request an RFE or an updated medical after more than an yr from one applicant but from the other they might not ask for even a single extra proof or paper. This is all the game of nerves. Best of luck.

  6. My online status reflects the following update...

On July 10, 2015, we registered your permanent resident status and mailed you a Welcome Notice for Receipt Number XXXXXXXX. Please follow the instructions in the notice. Your new permanent resident card should arrive by September 8, 2015, after this registration or after you complete any ADIT processing referred to in the welcome notice, whichever is later. If you move, go to www.uscis.gov to give us your new mailing address.

Can you tell me how long did it talek to receive your letter after this status update?

What is ADIT processing? Did anyone receive any request for ADIT processing?

Mine says exactly the same thing except the dates. mine was approved July 09, and it says my card should arrive before Sept 08. I was also curious to know about ADIT. i received my welcome letter in mailbox on 07/13 and doesn't say anything about ADIT instead it says that my GC should arrive in 3 weeks. But just for your information here's something to read about ADIT if in case your letter says something about it.

  7. So, i did receive my welcome letter in mail on 07/13 and it says that my GC will be delivered in the mail in 3 weeks. yeahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

Question: Does it really take 3 weeks to arrive or its just a time frame given but it arrives earlier? After shipping the GC does USCIS updates case status with a tracking #?

I wish you all best of luck in your journey. My this documentation ends here and next starts after 1.5yrs for ROC & 10yrs GC.

  8. No, don't worried about that. Just follow what the instruction says on the welcome letter. Mine does not say anything about ADIT on my welcome letter. Also not everyone would going through ADIT to get the green card. Please read this link:

Cool that means it just informational formalities needs to be fulfilled. Well that is awesome. i hope i receive the approval letter hard copy soon.

  9. You might, or you might have to wait another month. It depends on how much catch up they do before the new processing times are published. Hopefully you will be able to do it when they up date, that can be any time of the month, but normally mid month. March they updated on the 6th but April they updated on the 13th and they normally say they update around mid month. Its just one long waiting game and service requests are mostly useless as they write back saying the wait it now around 9 to 12 months. It's all just one big fob off for them obviously having too much of work load and disorganisation on their part!

You are right... its a long wait game. i am only worried to get it solved so that this long wait can come to an end.

Another SFV office victim. I'd like to keep an eye on this office. Seems a LOT of people on this thread are through this office. And they also seem to take forever. Or am I just jaded? ;)

I went for an infopass yesterday the whole office was like "looking busy doing nothing". I had to wait 1hr 45min pass my appointment time in order to see someone. thats absurd. Increase the number of people the way you increased immigration fee.

  10. Shell and Vivian are correct. You have to check on processing times for your local field office. The date does not go by the Interview waiver letter, It goes by the received date on your NOA1 for your I-485. I have been waiting for going on 14 months and 10 months since my Interview waiver letter. There are people here waiting since January 2014. Once you are past the processing date for your local field office then you can send a useless SR.

Processing times go by your local field office Im afraid. I have been waiting just short of nine months and been unable to do a request as my local office Pittsburgh is working on August 10th and my noa1 is August 15, so I can't do a service request until they update their processing times this month. Hopefully by then they will be working on late August, early Sept. Go to USCIS processing times, look at the date of your local office and then when it gets past your NOA1 you will be able to do an e request!

Happy, Happy Birthday!!! I hope you had a good one and that all your birthday wishes come true!! :)

So my local office "San Fernando Valley" is now processing cases of dated Aug 5 that means if it get updated this month then might be one of the lucky people :P Its crazy waiting for these things here its just like a lucky draw.

  11. I've seen conflicting info on whether we can use a copy of the marriage license (which we were given on the day of the ceremony, has "COPY" stamped across it basically) instead of a certified marriage certificate for AOS.

Apparently it could take more than 2 months to receive the certified copy! (Los Angeles County). Tried an expedited online order but its not even available via that path yet. Marriage was over a month ago and no information, no way to get one faster... ugh.

Has anyone successfully gotten AOS without a certified copy?

Go ahead with sending in your case with the marriage license copy. I reside in LA and I have done the same. otherwise you'll waste 2 months waiting for the marriage license to arrive.

  12. It means that you'll get your GC without interview (it happens to a lot of people adjusting from K-1) but it won't be soon. I think right now people have to wait 6 months and even more. I'm following the notice of potential interview waiver thread and some people who got their interview waiver letter early June are getting their GC now, but some people have been waiting even longer. So it's good news to not have an interview but bad news about the wait!

Yes it's kind of bitter sweet news.... You probably won't need interview but it's going to take long time for the green card to arrive... As they mentioned 6 months... Ive seen comments around the forum who are still waiting for 8 months no news

Well it is what it is then... we can't do anything beside waiting :) Anyways i have EAD and am working so .... ;)

  13. Hey guys; i recieved letter today from USCIS saying that

"we have identified your case as potential interview waiver, this means that we do not need to interview you"

but on the other hand it says that

"your field office is quiet busy becuase of which allow us 6months to process your case if you dont hear anything from us then contact us"

what does this mean??? is it a good news or bad news? m i gonna get my GC sometime soon without interview? or do i really have to wait for 6 months or even more...

  14. Hello All;

Tax discussions are always very complicated where ever you go. I started working for a company soon after i got my EAD. I was shocked to see a massive deduction of tax on my first pay check (since i was in Dubai and its no tax there). Now when the year is ending we will be filing tax. my question is, Should i be filling taxes jointly with my USC wife as Married filing taxes jointly? or married filing taxes seperately? Which one will be good in to file in terms of tax returns?

Looking forward to hear from you.
