  1. That's the point I'm trying to make (though reluctantly as I know little of this matter).

    What's wrong with I-130 NOA2 ==> Consulate (bypassing NVC) ==> K3 Visa ???

Let NVC play God as long as they want as long as it's a matter of an eventual adjustment of status while US citizens are living happily with their loved ones. Why reserve this privilege to illegal immigrants? That's what US representatives should be lobbied for instead of asking them to intervene for individual cases at the mighty NVC.

Ohh MoBar, how I tried :/ My Senators and Representative want nothing to do with streamlining the legal immigration process, but they're all about granting all sorts of concessions to undocumented immigrants. One of my Senators is running for re-election and a volunteer knocked on my door asking for support. She couldn't have been a day over 18 so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and told her I'm voting for the other guy before I slammed the door in her face. The next volunteer gets to see my immigration binder!

I agree with everything highlighted in red!!

  2. Did a quick read about K3 (didn't know about it):

    1. K3 takes as much time to approve as I-130.

    2. Consulates stop processing K3 once I-130 is approved, anticipating imminent IR-1/CR-1 issuance.

    3. Thanks to NVC, "imminent" stretches to several months now.

What was the purpose of K3 again? Baaah... what do I know!

What I'm interested to know is if the K-3 was ever really more efficient. It was implented in August 2001, but with 9/11 happening just after this implementation and the changes from INS to DHS and USCIS, I wonder if this visa has ever been used the way it was meant to be used.

I was reading an archived article from August 2001, and at that time, the I-130 took about a year to approve, but instead of going to NVC, the petition went directly to the consular post for interview. So, at that time, the NVC factor wasn't even in play. I learned something new today!

  3. Hey everyone!

My husbands visa was Issued at the Sydney Consulate sometime around 3:00PM and it made it to Perth in Western Australia via Express Post by 8:00AM the following morning.

A TRUE MIRACLE!! :) He sent me a cute photo of himself holding up his visa; the proudest look on his face!

He is going to make his ORIGINAL flights with no cancellations or changes! What a blessing after this last scare with the computer glitch! He is on his way to me tomorrow night! :dancing:(L)(L)

    Best wishes for everyone!

YAY!!!! August is starting off great!!

  4. It is great to have you here bdrew. What an exciting month you guys have coming up. Can't wait to hear that you are through POE and safely home.

    Love xxxx

Thank you!! :-) My husband's interview is Wednesday and I leave in less than 2 weeks to go get him! I can't believe it's finally here, it feel surreal.

Thank you so much for your kind words, I hope NVC picks up the pace and don't give you hassle about the Singapore police certificate!

  5. Girllll... You are almost there!! And then it's a nice honeymoon in Europe where you can devour your husband and pinch yourself to make sure it's real. I've been packing up hubby's things and he's starting to get nervous. He's also driving me a bit insane. But it's easier to manage when we're together than apart lol.

I'll be giving him pinches to make sure he's real LOL

It's officially August across the pond so I'm taking the liberty to say he's coming home this month!!!! I'm SO glad you haven't been waiting in limbo for too long! When will your life officially be off hold?

He did tell me I'm driving him crazy (he's the one who married a crazy person, mmk) but I just don't want anything to go bananas at this stage! Once I'm there, we'll tidy up the loose ends, have a fab going away party and we'll be going to the Emirates Stadium to (hopefully) see the stone I had engraved with him and his late father's name on it!

P.S. the interview date was moved to the anniversary of his father's passing - I'm sure I mentioned that before - so we got pops looking out for us :-)

  6. Its great to hear that things are moving along for everyone! What is the timeline for most people our status was updated to Administrative Processing on the 29th. I saw some posts that they are roughly a week behind but it seems things are moving faster for some. I assume the next step is issued and then we can get the passport and celebrate! Thanks in advance for responding reading the VJ blog is keeping us sane

    Praying for everyone

Off Topic, but hi neighbor! I'm not far from Minnetonka! :-)

  7. Courier. Rather them try and get across Bristol than me!

Ironically after months and months of being apart when I told my Fiancée it might come tomorrow she said not to come out until Wednesday at the earliest as she's working long shifts Monday & Tuesday!

My husband has family in Clevedon! He lives in Slough, so it should get to the depot in no time flat!

You'll be on these shores soon, congrats again!

  8. I'm really sorry you guys haven't heard anything yet.

I really hope none of you take this as boasting, as I'm only updating my status as per what we agreed at the beginning of my post.

I have received an email from the Embassy today telling me my visa was with the delivery company (DX Group) now.

The link to DX shows delivery of my visa tomorrow, but not heard anything from them directly so not getting carried away just yet.

I'll update again tomorrow with any news, really hope you guys get some news soon.

Did you opt for courier or will it be delivered to the depot for pick up? It only takes a day to deliver, that's great! Thank you for the updates! :-)

  9. Normally, in a big data center, you have a "test system" that's not used for main processing. You update this system first, and test the ####### out of it. If it works there, you roll it to the main system. This sounds like they installed it on the MAIN system, and the redundant backup system AT THE SAME TIME. A CARDINAL no-no.

Also, just so you know, if you read in the news about the trouble with the "Obamacare" national website rollout that was handled by CGI Federal, this is ALSO their handywork.

When I first heard about this "glitch" it did smell an awful lot like the 'ObamaCare' debacle. And thank you for making sense of the wonky stuff!

  10. how do you guys handle interview nerves?

Well, I found I was too relaxed so I asked the Department of State to cause a major system muck up aka "glitch" so I could have more to worry about. It's worked great!!

Seriously, my husband is cool as a cucumber. It's like the final exam before graduation. You know you already passed the course, it's just one more hurdle until you can throw all the papers in the air Mary Tyler Moore style and run down the street screaming.

August 6th is creeping up on us, I hadn't realized it was so close until LifeOnHold said something to me about it!

You'll be fine, and we're all in here together for your last minute nerves :-)

  11. According to my wife, when she rang the NVC up this was the 16th of June, as I said we originally sent the AOS package in April but had to correct an error. Bad mistake on our account, but a very harsh punishment..... still I will not complain.

P.S can you see the timeline now? If there is more you would like me to add, I will for other members.

    :)

    Looks good to me!

It looks like the NVC document reviewers are working through packages they scanned in between June 16-19 (they work on a range of dates at any given time). It looks like it's taking 30 business days to review all documents. Whenever the AOS check list was scanned in, calculate 30 business days forward and that should hopefully be your case complete (assuming of course, the IV package has already been sent in and approved)! I would watch others' on this thread and when you see approvals start around the date yours was scanned in, start calling!

  12. Pretty sure I did the timeline thing a few days ago, under Daniel and Aimee. Not sure how to get it into the siggy though, without retyping everything, I guess I could do that. If you have an easier method please tell me, or if I have incorrectly completed the timeline and I will. Having somebody to base yourself to is comforting.

The DS-260 is completed and we got an OK back with that, we are awaiting on the AOS which we had to resubmit as my wife made a mistake on the document.

When I click on your profile and view time line, it's not there... not everyone has a signature, and while it can be helpful it's not the end of the world LOL

What day was the AOS check list scanned in at NVC (this is probably going to be abour 2-4 days after it was physically received at their facility)?

  13. Well today is officially 30 working days for us, giving the NVC an extra 5 days to sort out the documents from when they arrived. So does anyone have a rough estimate of how long over the 30 days people are waiting? My wife and I already got a check list so this is nearly 3 months now for us. I would really like to spend Halloween with her in Salem........... gotta have dreams hey!

    :time:

What part of the process are you in? It would be easier for others in this group to help you if we had some details about where you are exactly in this process... :D

  14. Ours was issued as well!

Something must have happened everywhere because you and I have the same interview date :)

If my husband gets it in the mail Friday, he will still make his Saturday flight. I wonder if they send them in the mail the day that they are listed as Issued?

We bought a Express Post bag that guarantees next day delivery and we sent it to a business address in the city to ensure that it was a metro area where they guarantee next-day delivery.

    Hopefully it gets here! Congrats!

    YAY!!!!! Oh happy day!
